The game involved collecting cards of various beetles and using them in arcade machines in a rock/paper/scissors-type game to defeat other beetles. are two of the many types of beetles in the game Don Patch became a fairy in reference to "Popo", a fairy who is the mascot of the Mushiking franchise)

TN: I think we just have to let it sink in...Heppokomaru...A BAD GUY!? Well...Bo-bobo has sort of had enemies in nearly all of his former allies and fought everyone except Beauty at some time...so finally giving a reason for Heppokomaru being an antagonist makes some sense. But hey...at least he's back...sort of.

As for the actual chapter...yeah, those time-travel stories: you screw one thing and the universe goes bananas. I do wonder: could Gaou going crazy and turning into "cigar-chomping man-head" have happened because they ate Buta-kun...or all that Chie no Wa training? Though Gaou's whole situation is sad: we know that the 3rd really isn't the most popular of villains (what with his entire former reign and such) but to force animals to kill each other for amusement with the threat of...well, either death or extinction, can't tell which (probably the former but knowing the 3rd...) At least we got our required John Woo homage in this chapter...even if it's between a koala and a pig.
