Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 170
The Ultimate Execution Method!!
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 170
Bringing a light to the light in the darkness, Momo has finally defeated the strange doppelgangers of the Pharaoh of Pharaoh Sphinx...but with the real Pharaoh finally standing up, the match has become much more of an earache...
Chp. 170: The Ultimate Execution Method!!
27.
Toramaru: Th…that guy, he…he’s finally shown his true form---!!
Togashi: He…he’s Pharaoh, the head of P – S~~~!!
Momotarou: Fu, I had thought you were another alien.
28.
(Title page…I told you: those ears make you look like an alien!)
29.
Pharaoh: It seems the solar eclipse has ended.
Phoenix: I’ll have it come back. I can’t fight without it.
Momotarou: Is he alright? He’s come to have regrets.
Momotarou: !!
30.
Pharaoh: Alright, there is fine.
P – S Soldiers: Right!!
Toramaru: Hu—h, l…look!! The P – S soldiers have come bringing something to the battlefield.
Togashi: I don’t really know what it is but it’s an iron-ball-like thing and an iron plate. But while that ball isn’t very large, they’re coming bringing it terribly seriously.
31.
Pharaoh: You shouldn’t worry. This is for enjoyment a while after this.
Pharaoh: But I have to show a much more interesting thing to you.
Pharaoh: This is called Penam, made from the sap of a rubber-wood that is a specialty of the Nile River Basin. On the outside it is slender as such, but there’s no match in it’s strength and elastic power.
(TN: There really is an object called “Penam”, but it’s not this rubber…which is another “Otokojuku-item”, it’s actually a subclass of antibiotics that includes penicillin)
32.
Pharaoh: Using this, the great ancestors of our P – S had an idea for a dreadful special technique.
Pharaoh: YOU SHOULD SEE THIS: P – S OUGI: MORNING STAR OF ISHTAR!!
(TN: I really have no idea why I’m doing this considering neither of the terms in Pharaoh’s attacks are even Egyptian, but considering I do want to keep my pattern alongside the entire P – S fight, I am obliged to keep to patterns:
1. “Ishtar no Gyousei” = “Morning Star of Ishtar”; “Gyousei” also has a reference to the term of “Venus”, which sort of adds on to the next factor
2. Ishtar is not an Egyptian god or Pharaoh like many of the other P – S techniques: Ishtar is the Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility, love, war and sex.
3, The “Venus” as referred to in the “Gyousei” of the technique, refers to the planet which is sometimes nicknamed as “The Morning Star”, but considering it is also tied to the Roman name for Aphrodite, the goddess of love, somehow calling the technique “The Venus Ishtar”…works but feels strange since we got two love goddesses back to back, thus why I translated it as “Morning Star of Ishtar…but make your own decision)
Pharaoh: Haaa~~~!!
33.
Toramaru: Wh…what is that~~~!!
Togashi: Th…that Pharaoh: he’s attached the ropes with blades on its end to his ears and has started to rotate them---!!
Pharaoh: To all humans, there is just one point on their bodies where there are muscles that they can’t use freely. Those are the Katsuchou Muscles of the ears. These Katsuchou Muscles, which concentrate the Dousuu Nerves of the entire body, can work to the equivalent, no…greater than your hands and feet if you work at training them.
(TN: I swear that one of these isn’t an “Otokojuku” term, but since neither really have a translation in the real world, I have to consider them such and just leave them as is with translations here:
“Katsuchou Muscles” or “Katsuchoukin” = “Fastened and Bulging Muscles”
“Dousuu Nerves” or “Dousuu Shinkei” = “Pivot-Moving Nerves”)
Pharaoh: I’ve made it possible.
Momotarou: !!
34.
Momotarou: UH!!
Pharaoh: No one is able to see all of their movements.
Togashi: Di…did you see now!! How fast, and o…our Momo hadn’t moved even a step---!!
Toramaru: Th…that Pharaoh has such a tremendous attack, just moving while holding his arms together---!!
35.
Momotarou: KU!!
Momotarou: Fu, what handy ears. Are you Dumbo?
(TN: Yeah, once again Momo’s referring to pop culture, this time to the “flying elephant” of the 1941 Disney film)
Pharaoh: Dumbo………!? Yes, in truth I’m an elephant who flies in the skies in the comics.
(TN: Pharaoh actually called Dumbo a “manga character”, but I changed it slightly since somehow I doubt Dumbo ever had a manga about him)
36.
Pharaoh: If I am, then how’s this?
Momotarou: Nu!!
Momotarou: Na!!
37.
Momotarou: ……………Understood.
Toramaru: Uoo, he…can fly!! Ph…Pharaoh is fluttering in the air---!
Togashi: I…don’t believe it: wh…what exactly does this mean----!!
Date: Where are your eyes looking? Concentrate your eyes closely and look.
Toramaru: Wh…what---!!
38.
Toramaru: Ooh, that’s right: the ropes on Pharaoh’s ears are…entwined to the sky rope used in the Date vs. Seti fight---!
Pharaoh: Realize this: the might of the infinite varieties of my Ougi---!!
39.
Pharaoh: TAKE THIS---!!
Pharaoh: The self-evident truth is that it’s better to attack from above with this battle method!! There has never been anything to avoid this!!
Momotarou: It’s futile: you can’t defeat me with that level.
Pharaoh: Fu, really?
40.
Momotarou: Ha---!!
Pharaoh: !!
Momotarou: I’ve got you, Pharaoh!!
41.
Momotarou: Huh!!
Toramaru: Aah, Momo jumped higher than even Pharaoh and should have completely split his head with that sword, and yet---!!
Togashi: Wh…what is this!! Th…the sword was split in two---!
Momotarou: This…is stupid: this sturdy sword was brittle like this……………!!
(TN: I’m not quite sure if this is what Momo was saying but he referred to his sword as a “gouken” or a “sturdy/strong sword”)
Momotarou: Huh!!
42.
Momotarou: Ugu!!
Pharaoh: You’re a naïve man. Did you think you could merely return an enemy’s weapon on a battleground where we’ve bet our lives?
Momotarou: Ri…right, y…you…………had some tactic for my blade……………!!
Pharaoh: Fu……
Pharaoh: With that, the time has finally come for this to be useful. The battle until now was entirely for this.
43.
Pharaoh: You should watch: at a glance, this is merely an iron ball that isn’t really large. But actually this was made with a super-massive substance called Houtou Iron and it’s weight is 200 kilos.
(TN: “Houtou Iron” or “Houtoutetsu” = “Noisy-Cannon Iron”)
Pharaoh: This will be taken by you---!!
Momotarou: !!
44.
Momotarou: Ku!!
Toramaru: Uwaaa, that iron ball which flew using the kick of the see-saw, i…is falling straight over Momo’s head---!!
Togashi: I…in that stance, he can’t avoid it!! He…can only catch it---!
Momotarou: Guku!!
45.
Momotarou: …………!!
Momotarou: Y…you, th…this is…………!!
Pharaoh: This is P – S’s ultimate execution method: The Agony of Oedipus…as you can see, if the power in your hands weakens even a bit, the iron ball will fall and your neck will instantly be screwed up. You’re not merely being killed: you yourself are holding on to your life……you should taste the hell of this world to your heart’s content.
(TN: Once again, another technique without Egyptian terms…though at least this one has a few hints towards Egypt:
1. “Oedipus no Hanmon” = “Agony of Oedipus”
2. Oedipus is just as he is known in Greek mythology: a hero who ended up with a tragic prophecy which he himself ended up completing, killing his father while marrying his mother and having children with her; when finally discovering the horrible things he had done, he blinded himself and forced himself to wander the world for the rest of his life. As I may have explained prior, it was Oedipus who ended up solving the Riddle of the Sphinx on his way to his horrific destiny, thus why I say he’s “sort-of” connected to Egypt)
TN: Alright, I need to ask this of Pharaoh: if you're Egyptian, what's with the non-Egyptian references? Is it that you're a leader that you can get away with not being tied to Egypt...even if you and your team are from Egypt itself? That's probably one of the things I'm not going to miss when this phase of the Daibukai is over...as for the chapter itself, it's actually surprising to see Momo in danger and having a hard time. Considering how easy he usually has it, having him suffering and showing difficulty is just strange but at least shows even he isn't invincible. And...yeah, the whole bit about "Dumbo" was so strange and funny that I almost called Pharaoh that myself.

Few words about previous chaps: I knew that Pharaoh wasn't a monster. So far Miyashita hasn't shown a sign of any kind of supernatunal forces like ghosts or vampires. We'll see in the future... But i doubt that's going to change.
That part with the fireflies being used as signs at shops was just hilarious and kinda out of place... Totally WOW-weted there :P.
Pharaoh, Dumbo :D? That was a good one... Even stranger is that he actually "flew"! And using his ears? Now that's badass and Otokojuku-ish. I also enjoyed how fast he was and how he slightly tilted his head before launching an attack :P. For one i thought that Pharaoh was going to shoot this ball really high thus suffocating Momo or breaking his neck! Then when i saw what happened i thought that something was about to get poured from the ball (some poison or smoke, w/e). For a moment i thought that Momo was about to use his ripple the moment he saw what was going on with his neck!
It was kinda weird how Momo threw his sword at Pharaoh in the beginning of their fight. And it was even wierder that Momo didn't say a word when Pharaoh said that Momo can't fight without it...
The whole "ghost pharaoh" bit was all a ruse. One thing you have to realize about this silly series: nothing is beyond the capabilities of these fighters in "realistic" means. Every weird, bizarre thing they do has means they can perform it through some sort of physics taken to 11. And...yeah, the Dumbo bit is classic.
