Showing the means of sacrificing everything for the fight, Baron Dino has sacrificed himself to take out Ryouzanpaku's first fighter. But how will this be taken by the opponents...and who will be the next Otokojuku fighter to tee off?

Chp. 177: Enter Ryouzanpaku’s Main Army!!

169.
Toramaru: DI…DINO----!!

170.
(Title Page…yeah, it’s sad what happened to Baron Dino…but at least Gekkou fights next!)

171.
Momotarou: It was an amazing fight…………
Momotarou: We’ll never forget about you……Baron Dino. You left and taught to us what sort of thing is the true Otokojuku Soul that’s possessed in death.
Momotarou: …………………!! We…thank you, se…senpai……!!
(TN: The “thank you” here is actually the slang word “gottsuan”, which is a short version of “gochisousama”, which usually is for “we thank you” in cases such as “gochisousama deshita” or “we thank you for the meal”)
Togashi: Uuuh.
Toramaru: Di…Dino………!!
Date: We don’t have the leisure to mourn him forever. It seems Ryouzanpaku’s Main Army is appearing.
Togashi: Huh…!?

172.-173.
(Yep…just what Otokojuku needs…more super-powerful Chinese warriors ready to take them down!)

174.
“Voice”: It seems Suiketsu has apparently failed. We, of the Ryouzanpaku 16-Greats, have a vacancy appear for the first time as we’ve come to the semi-finals here………………!!
“Old Man”: Suiketsu was small in his appearance and was still an immature heavy-drinking fool even in skills. It was a mistake to have him come and be our lead after all.
“Old Man”: So they’re called Otokojuku.
Ryouzanpaku Fighter: Yes……!!
“Old Man”: Fuohhohho: all of them have nice expressions. We can remember when we first challenged this Daibukai looking at them.

175.
“Old Man”: Fine then, our purpose is only one: that is to become champions of our 4th consecutive Tenchou Gorin Daibukai. Due to this, any further errors are absolutely unexcused.
Ryouzanpaku 1: Whose going next…………!?
Ryouzanpaku 2: Anyone is fine: they’ll show the true power of Ryouzanpaku.
“Voice”: Old Man, I’ll go next.
(TN: “He” gives the old man who is leading Ryouzanpaku’s forces at this time a title of “jii”, which is merely “old man” or “grandpa”; I decided to just go with it at this time)
Old Man: Hoo, you?
“Archer”: Let’s show this to the eyes of those Otokojuku.

176.
Togashi: Wh…what, th…that’s Ryouzanpaku’s Ma…Main Army…………
Toramaru: This one and that one are just guys with probably one or two peculiarities.
Togashi: Ooh, what, look……!? There’s a guy whose setting up a bow-and-arrow and taking aim to us.

177.
Toramaru: Hey, are you stupid---!! However you see from that cliff to this, it’s 500 meters---!
Togashi: Even if you fire an arrow at that distance, there isn’t a reason it will reach~~~!!
Togashi: Ora---!! What’s wrong; if you’re a guy that’ll do it, then do it---! Of course, I won’t even run or hide---!!

178.
Togashi: Hu~~h?
Momotarou: Do…don’t move, Togashi!!
Togashi: Wh…what’s that………!?

179.
Togashi: !!
Togashi: Oh!!
Togashi: Uo!!
Togashi: Oooh--!!

180.
Togashi: Guwa!!
Toramaru: To…Togashi---!!
Toramaru: Ho…hold on, Togashi---!!
Togashi: Gukuku!!
Togashi: Wh…what was th…that now………!? He attacked and piled on arrows one after another aiming for the medal on my school cap……!!
Date: A terrible man…………!! That’s a next-to-impossible technique even to just reaching from this distance and yet………………!!

181.
Voice: It seems the bow-user is our competition opponent. So then, here’s where you leave it to me.
Momotarou: !?

182.
Togashi & Toramaru: GE…GEKKOU---!!
Gekkou: Sorry, but will all of you step back?
Momotarou: ……!?

183.
Toramaru: Wh…what---!! Wh…what is he doing? That Gekkou, he’s placed iron balls on the ground---!
Togashi: Th…that manner, so…so then, it’s…as if it’s…………!?

184.
Gekkou: CHAKU-KE KONBOUJUTSU OUGI: TENGAI SOSHINDAN!!
(TN: We’ve got a few reminders and a new technique, so I guess we have to list them off:
1. “Chaku-ke” = Walk-School
2. “Konboujutsu” = “Staff/Kon-Method Technique”
3. “Tengai Soshindan” = “Cough-Wearing Swinging-Aim Bullet”)
Gekkou: HA!!

185.
“Archer”: !?
“Archer”: NU!!
Horse: Hin!!
“Archer”: ……..!!

186.
Old Man: Fu, smart behavior………………that was returning the favor of facing your bow earlier. Just now, if I’m not confused, was Tengai Soshindan, an illusionary secret art in Chinese Kenpou. There is a person who can use a great technique like that among those various men.
“Archer”: There won’t be a shortage of opponents.
Souketsu: Souketsu, one of the Ryouzanpaku 16-Greats, will fully show them the essence of archery that is called unequalled.
(TN: Souketsu’s fighting style isn’t merely just “archery” but “kyuujutsu” or “Japanese archery”. This style of archery was crucial for the Japanese military during the samurai era just as much as swordmanship and showed its efficiency in distance warfare until the introduction of firearms)

187.
Togashi: A…amazing, Gekkou!! Th…that surely is a divine skill---!!
Toramaru: If…if you became a pro golfer with that, then I’m certain you’d be a champion with consecutive hole-in-ones----!!
Raiden: Chaku-ke Ougi: Tengai Soshindan…you’re finally revealing that dreadful technique, Gekkou………!!
Commentary:
Tengai Soshindan…the ultimate secret handed down by the celebrated Chaku-ke style, the strongest school of Konboujutsu. The originator of this technique: 2nd generation head Go Ryuufu, entirely defeated his enemies with batted balls of unparalleled accuracy. Today, a batting method that resembles a golf swing has been proven to be the most successful due to the acquisition of a ball’s flight distance, power and accuracy no matter what the mechanical motion’s point-of-view. Incidentally, there is an established theory that golf has it’s origin in England, but there is a theory that is dominating that says it’s origin is in China by knowing the name of Go Ryuufu, the above-mentioned originator.
-From “Variant Sports Origins”, Minmei Publishing
(TN: The “ryuu” part of “Go Ryuufu” may be a tad strange, but if you do read it quickly, it does seem to sound like “gorufu”, the Japanese reading for “golf”)

Toramaru: We ask you, Gekkou---!! Certainly defeat him---!
Togashi: With that power called the greatest master of Otokojuku’s Sanmenken---!!
Gekkou: As informed.
(End of Vol. 19)

TN: LOL...golf. Gekkou is fighting a skilled archer with...golf! Yep, you probably have realized how far he's come from back when he rotated on his head on an ice room and became all black and evil...but it's not like we didn't know this was going to happen considering the move is essentially an evolved version of the "baseball" maneuver he used against Centaur at the end of that fight. (then again Gekkou wouldn't just be a golfer...he'd be a blind golfer...yeah, let's not take it that far for the moment) Meanwhile with Baron Dino's sacrifice still on my mind, I finally realized why it was probably so powerful to the Otokojuku students: this is probably the first time an Otokojuku fighter died...but still defeated the opponent in this tournament in a double-suicide. (heck, probably for the first time since the Kyoura Daiyon Kyousatsu where those types of sacrifices happened all the time, just as we saw with J/Raiden and Togashi/Hien...then again there was Hien's victory against Neskhons, but that was more an overwhelming victory where he died but after the fighter was totally done for) Compared to a lot of the other fighters on Otokojuku's side that gave their life, that actually took a lot of courage and made his victory over Suiketsu all the more better. And one more quick comment: at least Togashi has that medal on his school cap or else...Souketsu could have killed him them. (moral: never mock an archer)

Nice one... But then again Miyashita likes to make two fighters fight who have relatively the same skills (or at least one of them is able to neutralise the attack of the other)... Remember the bubble guy? I wonder what was going to happen if he fought with Togashi or Toramalu... Hey is it just me, or all of the Chinese guys/ names are about to end with "ketsu"?

I'm really curious if we're about to see 16 (uuh so far Otkojuku has 12 fighters after Dino's death) vs 16 fight ( 1 down for Ryouzanpaku as well)! So far the biggest group of fighters was 8 i think coming from P-S. We've never seen 16 vs 16!!! You don't have to answer that, since it's gonna spoil it for me... But i expect to see the return of few characters that would fill Otokojuku's numbers vs the Ryouzanpaku or during the finals...
