Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 181
Flames of Revenge!!
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 181
It's a double-team with a twist: with an evil duo emerging for Ryouzanpaku, Otokojuku has sent out Toramaru...and Manjimaru!? Why is the mohawked Shitennou so obsessed in facing these fighters in particular!?
Chp. 181: Flames of Revenge!!
67.
Date: Does Manjimaru know them: that duo who is Ryouzanpaku’s next competition opponent…………!!
Momotarou: Umu, the color in his eyes truly changed since he saw them……!!
Momotarou: Manjimaru, one of the Otokojuku Shitennou…!! He’s a man of many mysteries…………! Possibly this has some connection to his hidden past……!!
Toramaru: Ho…how did this come to this~~~!? I…I’ve teamed up with Manjimaru----!!
68.
Old Man: Fuohhohho: Touketsu and Taiketsu…originally they were inappropriate men for our Ryouzanpaku. Their past is too excessively dirty.
Old Man: But they’re for real in the skill they’ve built. Those two go around to their enemy and they have no survivors……!!
69.
(Title page…well at least Toramaru can attempt to show his importance…maybe)
70.
Toramaru: I…I am Toramaru Ryuuji, Otokojuku First-Year----!! Th…this man who is supporting here is Manjimaru-senpai, Otokojuku Third-Year and one of the Shitennou---!!
“Bald Head”: Fu fu fu, what a well-authoritative man. So shall we introduce ourselves as well?
71.
Manjimaru: There is no need to hear now your scummy filthy names, Touketsu and Taiketsu, users of Meigokuhan-ke, the most evil Jaken in the world!!
(TN: A few notes here:
1. “Meigokuhan-ke” = “Dark-Prison Tub School”
2. I don’t know if I really should have just used “Jaken” here but basically “Jaken” translates into “wicked fist” and it followed “Saikyou” which translates here as “the most evil”. Therefore, since it seemed like a style, I decided to keep it as one)
Toramaru: Ma…Manjimaru………!! Wh…what exactly is with you……!?
“Bald Head”: Hoo, you know our names. But we can’t remember your face or name at all.
“Bald Head”: Fufu, but then, those who curse us are as many as the number of stars…we don’t possess minds to remember them one by one.
Manjimaru: Well now you will remember this fist. I’ve lived until now so I could search and defeat you two.
72.
“Bald Head”: Fu, you surely have a bloodthirst that’s just tremendous, seeming to curse us to a great extent. So even if it’s to clear this resentment, we shall prepare for us the most suitable battle stage.
“Bald Head”: In the world of fists in ancient times, a dreadful showdown method was devised for 2-vs.-2 grudge matches of the leaders. ITS NAME WAS KANRYUU SOUKOKUTOU!!
(TN: “Kanryuu Soukokutou” = “Peerless-Sulfur Pair-Time Fight”)
Toramaru: Wh…what’s Kanryuu Soukokutou……!?
Manjimaru: ………!!
“Flat Head” UMU
“Bald Head”: We’re always prepared to have this.
73.
Toramaru: !?
Toramaru: Wh…what are…those!? They’re putting up two pillars with strangely-shaped containers attached to them on the battleground.
74.
“Bald Head”: With this, the preparations are arranged. So, I shall explain the etiquette of this Kanryuu Soukokutou.
“Bald Head”: These glass containers attached to the center of these pillars have become water clocks, not like hourglasses. In other words, the liquid flows down to the bottom bit by bit, making the top empty in exactly 3 minutes and filling the bottom-part of the container.
“Bald Head”: What merely makes this water clock slightly different from others is that that the inside has an extremely-sulfuric acid in place of water. When the liquid fills up the bottom in three minutes, it will come to have a structure where it will fall from the bottom with its weight.
(TN: While I could have just made it in Japanese due to it being an “Otokojuku term”, it pretty much is adding “kyoku” or “extreme” to “ryuusan”, which is “sulfuric acid”, so I just called it the obvious: extremely-sulfuric acid)
Toramaru: Wh…what, extremely-sulfuric acid~~~!!
75.
“Bald Head”: Mutually one of us will be fixed beneath the container by a lock attached to the pillar and become a hostage. On the other hand, the fighter must fight while constantly paying attention to the hostage. That’s because when three minutes pass, the container above the head of the hostage will fall off and the extremely-sulfuric acid will bathe their entire body, becoming, as it’s called, instant death.
“Bald Head”: It is best to prevent this. These containers can feasibly rotate………!! If you can reverse the top and bottom, then the hostage will be safe for three more minutes.
“Bald Head”: Well, how about it: do you have the courage to undertake this? This isn’t impossible; if you don’t want this, then we’ll be fine even in fighting normally.
Toramaru: That’s obvious, you dummies!! Wh…who would feel like doing this thing---! Ke, You’re saying this because you don’t have the self-confidence for a normal match---!!
Toramaru: !!
76.
Manjimaru: Fine then.
Toramaru: Huh!!
Manjimaru: We shall undertake this match!!
Toramaru: Yo…you can’t be joking, Manjimaru: I…I absolutely can’t do this at all---!! We…well, I’m going to have the duty of being fastened to the pillar----!!
Toramaru: Ge…generally I don’t know anything of what you have, but how could you entrust your life to this without telling a thing to me about your connection to those guys----!!
Manjimaru: …………So then, you should listen, Toramaru……!!
Manjimaru: I CANNOT FORGET THAT FROM SEVEN YEARS AGO……………!!
77.
Manjimaru: I WAS ENDEVORING DAY AND NIGHT, HAVING NOT MASTERED THE ESSENCE OF MY SCHOOL’S MOURYOUKEN.
(TN: Reminder: “Mouryouken” = “Fist of Spirits and Goblins”)
Manjimaru: THE NAME OF MY MASTER WAS GEN SENREI, THE 15TH SUZERAIN OF MOURYOUKEN. HE HATED TAKING MANY PUPILS AND HELD A RELENTLESS TRAINING LIFE OF ONE MASTER AND ONE PUPIL, BUT I RESPECTED THE TREMENDOUS BENEVOLENCE OF MY MASTER’S TECHNIQUES AND THEY WERE ENRICHED DAYS.
(TN: A “suzerain” is a leader who generally is seen as one who has complete control of foreign affairs of a nation; usually it is a title given to the emperor of China or the leader of Tibet, therefore why I decided to keep it)
Manjimaru: ON THAT DAY, THOSE TWO ARRIVED.
Voice: WE ASK OF YOU---!!
78.
“Bald Head”: Are you the rumored high Gen Senrei? We efforted to request a match.
Gen Senrei: Go home. You have a purpose of defeating me and raising your great achievements, but my fist isn’t a thing for fighting a party like yours.
“Bald Head”: Fu, are you emitting a loss of nerve? Even if you don’t have the will, we have it.
79.
Manjimaru: THEIR STRENGTH TRULY WASN’T NORMAL.
Manjimaru: BUT MASTER’S SKILL TURNED FAR ABOVE THEM AND DIDN’T HAVE A PROBLEM EVEN IN THE ATTACKS OF THOSE TWO.
Manjimaru: AND THUS THOSE TWO, WHO UNDERSTOOD THEY WERE NO MATCH IN TRUE POWER……………!!
Manjimaru: !!
Manjimaru: Uh!!
80.
“Bald Head”: That’s far enough, Gen Senrei---!!
Gen Senrei: !!
“Bald Head”: How’s this: hasn’t this reached your eyes!!
Manjimaru: Guku!!
“Bald Head”: If you’re thinking of this brat, then throw down your weapon and do as instructed. If you move even a step from there, this brat will lose his life.
Gen Senrei: Y…you…………!!
Manjimaru: Master-sama----!! Don’t care about me!! F…finish them off----!!
“Flat Head”: You have a fine pupil.
81.
Gen Senrei: Gufu!!
Manjimaru: !!
Gen Senrei: Ma…Manjimaru………!!
Manjimaru: Ma…Master-sama~~~!!
82.
“Bald Head”: Fufu, what can this brat do?
“Flat Head”: It’s needless to say, yet he may bring some calamity to us when he’s grown up.
Manjimaru: MASTER-SAMA---!!
Manjimaru: It’s…because I was unskilled……………!!
Manjimaru: Y…you two----!!
“Flat Head”: Gaha!!
“Bald Head”: Fu, this skill won’t be understood by us.
83.
Manjimaru: I…won’t forget this……………y…your faces…and on this day called today……………So…someday I certainly will defeat you two…………!!
“Bald Head”: You’re stupid, but there won’t be a someday for you!!
“Bald Head” Fuhhahaha: you should train to your heart’s content in that world with your master.
Manjimaru: Uwaa~~~~!!
84.
Manjimaru: BUT MIRACULOUSLY MY LIFE WAS BROUGHT IN CHECK. AND THUS I PILED TRAINING ON TRAINING WITH A PURPOSE OF JUST DEFEATING THOSE TWO.
(TN: Unfortunately it was a tough time to find a verb to work with the part of “my life was brought in check”. In Japanese it was “Inochi wo toritomeru”, with “toritomeru” being “to stop” or “to check”; the latter worked better since somehow saying Manjimaru’s “life stopped” just seemed incorrect…since he’s right here and now)
Manjimaru: !!
Toramaru: Damn, I really did draw an extremely unlucky number… I’m always in this sort of part.
Toramaru: On the other hand, I’m certain you’ll defeat those slime………!! My life is entrusted to you.
Manjimaru: …………Thanks, Toramaru!!
85.
“Bald Head”: Hoo, you’re anxious at last?
Touketsu: You should be careful, Taiketsu. I feel an extraordinary thing in him.
Taiketsu: I will show him: the numerous secret techniques of Meigokuhan-ke……………!! This finger will suck up his blood.
Manjimaru: You should come: the door to hell has opened, Taiketsu!!
TN: Was I the only one who didn't know which was Touketsu and which was Taiketsu until the last page here? I mean, back when we had the Kakurenju duo, we immediately knew which was Amon and which was Unmon even though they were essentially twins. Yet here...we literally had to wait until this chapter's last page to know which was Touketsu and which was Taiketsu! Meanwhile...Manjimaru with no mohawk and with his master with the mohawk was...equally strange. The flashback was intense and seeing why Manjimaru wants those two down (and seeing that even the Ryouzanpaku fighters don't know what to expect with those two) does bring a high amount of anticiaption for this fight...well for anyone except Toramaru. (yeah, he always gets the short end of the stick even in a double team unless Togashi is around...and someone should take the gag off Togashi while we're mentioning it)
