TN: You know something I just realized: somehow I've noticed one potential reason why Sawai probably lost a lot of popularity and notoriety with Shinsetsu compared to what he had before: somehow he just seems more obsessed with dirty jokes than he was before in pt. 1. Yeah, he had weird dirty jokes in the first Bo-bobo...heck, Softon's entire character is as such. But the factor that he keeps having Gaou obsessively read porn (which is funny) can turn away those that has pretty much taken over as Jump's main audience. If somehow he started pt. 2 in a magazine that skewed older, maybe the series would have found a second wind...but while the series is still fine, it does feel awkward translating and seeing what Sawai is attempting...and realizing this will ultimately lead to a decreasing popularity in Jump. Somehow Sawai does seem a tad obsessed as well in trying to take a series as crazy as this serious...and somehow I don't know if it works or not. I mean I know we're supposed to really not take a fight of a guy who acts like a baby and a guy who used to use nosehair (and mostly seems to use Hajike with Hanage-Shinken power at this point) seriously, but somehow it just feels a tad too serious compared to...well, maybe somehow in a way Sawai learning how to make a fight serious was probably something he learned with the Bi-bibi fight, but somehow I prefer it for something as epic (and yet still fun and bizarre) as Bi-bibi...and it feels a tad distracting for Babuu. Yeah, it is interesting to see Babuu actually seem more powerful than anything Bo-bobo has faced before...but this (as well as a couple events that happen later) just makes me wonder where the heck all these people were a year ago prior to being recruited by Tsurulina the 3rd. On the other hand, the funniest bit, once again, is Gaou's little bit about the baby koalas being sent to the lions (and Beauty's "extinction" reaction)...and somehow I wish I had a bit of sympathy for what happened to Plain Bread...but we really didn't know him too much and he just felt like a tool. That's probably the most tragic part, that both Babuu and Namerou used him leading to his death but it does cut short a character who did have a least a bit of potential.
