TN: For the most part, this is a really powerful chapter, mostly in the relationship that exists between Momo and Akashi that has been building since vol. 2. While pretty much allied with the First-Years since the moment he began as an Otokojuku student, Akashi is the first upperclassman Momo ever really bonded with: sure they were initially enemies, but the two of them were able to talk things over and go through various problems together. Akashi is probably the only student Momo not only respects as a senpai but as a friend and is able to speak to as an equal with little problem. So seeing this sacrifice being done, possibly taking his life but likewise taking out Soukou, is enough to not just push out Togashi and Toramaru (who worry about everyone on their side strangely enough) but Momo as well. But of course...in a weird way, Akashi has a lot more problems and troubles being a head compared to Momo: Momo may have some weirdoes as members of the First-Years, but Akashi has a bunch of creeps in his class...need we remind ourselves of Edogawa and all the crap from volume 1 the First-Years went through with the Second-Years while Akashi was away!? Compared to putting up with the likes of Edogawa, putting up with Togashi, Toramaru and all of Momo's First-Years is an easy burden...but that's how I see it. But...at least hopefully with Soukou finally down (even with Akashi's sacrifice) we can finally move on to Ryouzanpaku's leader...perhaps.
