Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 194
Enter Ryouzanpaku’s Leaders!!
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 194
With an unbelievable bet towards victory, Akashi has sacrificed himself to take out the vice-leader of Ryouzanpaku! But was it enough, is this really the end of Akashi...and will Otokojuku be ready for the leader(s?) of their opponent!?
Chp. 194: Enter Ryouzanpaku’s Leaders!!
149.
Momotarou: A…Akashi-senpai………!!
150.
(Title page…its J vs…bamboo-hat man?)
151.
Togashi: Uoo, ho…how can we gather him with this stupid story----!!
Toramaru: O…open your eyes, A…Akashi-senpai---!!
Togashi: A…and then relentlessly train us with that hazing of hell again----!!
Momotarou: St…stop that, Toramaru, Togashi…………!!
Togashi & Toramaru: Uuh!!
Momotarou: E…even with this, th…this form is ju…just too cruel…!!
Voice: Hold on!!
152.
Momotarou: !!
Togashi: Huh, Ja…Jaki………!?
Jaki: Let go of it, Tsurugi………!! You still don’t understand: the true terror of the man Akashi Gouji!!
Momotarou: ………!!
Toramaru: Wh…what exactly do you mean………!?
153.
Jaki: Out of the way!!
Jaki: Even if it’s a bit, it will be the end if out of order with usual skill……………!!
Momotarou: ………!?
Jaki: HA!!
154.
Akashi: GUKU……!!
Momotarou: Huh!!
Togashi & Toramaru: Wh…what~~~!! He…revived A…Akashi-senpai~~~~!
155.
Jaki: Don’t you understand…!! He wasn’t revived…………He hadn’t died.
Akashi: Uuh!!
Jaki: This is Ichimonji-ryuu Ougi: Kessenkan!! He pierced himself with his own sword while missing all the vitals of his aortas, running it like an eye of a network into his own body.
(TN: “Kessenkan” = “Thrombosis Pierce” or “Blood-Plugging Pierce”)
Jaki: To this man, whatever the powerful enemy, a tie is a defeat, not a victory. He had to bet everything on a one-in-ten thousand chance to win.
Jaki: That is the man who is Akashi Gouji, Head of Otokojuku’s Second-Years……!!
Momotarou: ………!!
156.
Akashi: Wh…what’s with that face…………!!
Momotarou: A…Akashi-senpai………!! A…a man like you would……………!!
Jaki: It’s best that he is hurried to surgert. Any further bleeding will truly come to be fatal!!
Toramaru: He…he did it----!! A…Akashi, n…no, Akashi-senpai is alive---!
Togashi: A…amazing, He…he didn’t tie with General Soukou, he…he won---!!
157.

Voice: This is completely what is called a major upset.
Businessman: This can’t be: Otokojuku, this nameless newcomer of the Tenchou Gorin Daibukai, have won their way to here………………!!
158.
Businessman: With that, even General Soukou, the vice-head of the Ryouzanpaku army has been defeated and all that remains is merely the one head. It seems the advancing to the final match has been decided as Otokojuku.
Toudou: Fufu: one boss of Ryouzanpaku……………!! How can you take it as there is one boss!?
Businessman: Huh……!? What are you saying……………!?
Toudou: No matter what the era, the bosses of Ryouzanpaku is always three……!! This is their tradition!!
(TN: I really wish I couldn’t have spoiled it sooner with the title of the volume, but this is the point where we actually find out about the multiple leaders of Ryouzanpaku.)
Businessman: Th…three bosses………!!
159.
Toudou: In ancient China, Ryouzanpaku was originally founded by three great men: Ryoukou, Sanchin and Hakumei; these three named it by the first characters. Even after this, Ryouzanpaku from their origin always had bosses of their three strongest warriors and who acted by consultation. That’s why this time, not adding in yet the three bosses was thought to be natural for their progression to the finals. But they should have realized this disaster and will rush to there very soon……!!
(TN: Obviously the three “leaders” have first kanji that match the name of “Ryouzanpaku”, but remember the modifications to allow for them to mesh together, thus the “San” of “Sanchin” become “Zan” and the “Haku” of “Hakumei” is “Paku”. Therefore, don’t be surprised if the trio this time isn’t exact with the names either)
Toudou: And I’ve heard that the three bosses of this tournament are actual brothers separated by blood………!!
Businessman: Th…three brothers that are separated by blood……………!?
Toudou: Fufu, Otokojuku.
Toudou: Your critical moment will be from here!! You will come to know the true terror of Ryouzanpaku.
160.
Old Man: Wh…what can I say……my…my mischief has made even our General Soukou be…be in this form………!!
Old Man: N…now, we’ll courteously bury him.
161.
Old Man: WH…WHAT~~~!!
Old Man: Ooh, it…it’s you---!!
162.
(And thus enter the Ryouzanpaku trio…er, duo?)
163.
Old Man: IT’S RYOUKOU-SAMA, ONE OF THE THREE BOSSES OF RYOUZANPAKU!!
Old Man: AND SIMILARLY, SANEN-SAMA---!!
Ryouzanpaku Fighters: HAHA---!!
Ryoukou: This man General Soukou, Vice-Head of Ryouzanpaku, has exposed such embarrassment……!! There is no need to courteously burying him.
Old Man: HI!!
164.
Ryoukou: What’s the matter with youngest brother Hakuhou!?
Sanen: He should have departed ahead of us.
Old Man: Ha…Hakuhou-sama………!? N…no, he…he hasn’t come to arrive yet………………!!
Ryoukou: That guy………..!!
Sanen: Fufu, he’s always doing that.
Toramaru: Uwahhaha: this match is already decided---!!
Togashi: With that, the main ones remaining of those Ryouzanpaku force guys are their generals---!!
Togashi: What’s wrong, hey, get out here quickly---!!
Togashi: Uh!!
165.
“Bamboo Hat”: Can I ask you a little something but where is the battleground for the Tenchou Gorin Daibukai semifinal match?
Togashi: !!
“Bamboo Hat”: I’ve come to have no idea of the way with the roads like a maze on this entire island. Don’t you know!? Dirty-faced oldie with the small mustache?
Momotarou: ………!?
Togashi: Wh…what’s with th…this brat~~~!! He…hey you, what exactly is this that’s suddenly appeared----!!
“Bamboo Hat”: Aah, it’s there, it’s there---!! My big bros are over there~~~!!
166.
Hakuhou: My name is Hakuhou, one of Ryouzanpaku’s Three Bosses!! It seems all of you are my enemies.
Momotarou: Huh!!
Togashi: Th…that brat, are you escaping with your joking---!! Th…there’s no reason a shrimp like you is a Ryouzanpaku boss---!!
Togashi: Uh!!
167.
Togashi: Wh…what-----!! He…he’s on that far away battlefield over there before we knew it---!!
Hakuhou: Peace, peace.
Hakuhou: He—y, get down here quickly----!! I’ll be your opponent---! The advantage is I’m unbelievably strong---!!
Togashi: Th…that brat---!!
Voice: Stop, Togashi. He’s not an opponent that you can use your punch on.
J: Well, will you sound the gong!!
Togashi & Toramaru: J----!!
TN: I really, really feel stupid about how this chapter...and in a way, this volume...was set up for me to spoil the big revelation of Ryouzanpaku's leadership way before you're to know of it. Japanese is a language that does have plurals, but for something like that with limited context aside the chapter itself, just calling it "leader" would have felt incorrect...but calling it "leaders" meant that I spoiled this chapter from go. Unfortunately, I went with the latter because it just feels hard to lose context considering what happens. As for the chapter...let me just say this already: Hakuhou rocks. Yeah, he's a crazy kid and is probably about to get his face smashed in by J, but to have someone like him with all the serious fighters (and seriously insane weirdoes...and just serious weirdoes) throughout this entire tournament is a breath of fresh air. He reminds me a bit of a younger Son Goku from DB the way he's touting himself and just screwing around with Otokojuku before the match while demonstrating power...this should be a fun match. (can't say the same for his big brothers...but we'll see when we get to them) And somehow it was rather confusing why Jaki had to be the one to save Akashi...but I guess that considering he probably knew of Akashi's move while Momo (and likewise we) didn't, it was an appropriate appearance for the recently "seldomly-seen" Third-Year leader. But hey, next time will be interesting...we're going to see if Hakuhou is J's match!
