Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 201
Enter the Eldest Brother: Ryoukou!!
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 201
The youngest brother has been blasted away by J, the middle brother given the finger by Rasetsu. Now only the eldest and final of the Ryouzanpaku leader brothers remains...but whoever faces him is going to have a ball!
Chp. 201: Enter the Eldest Brother: Ryoukou!!
107.
Togashi: Ra…Rasetsu………!!
Rasetsu: This is a scratch that isn’t important……………!! Fr…from here, next will be the last one of Ryouzanpaku’s Three Bossess; earnestly don’t get negligent.
Togashi: A…a scratch…………!!
Toramaru: He…he lost one of his arms…………!!
Momotarou: Senpai……!!
108.
(Title page…Raiden’s back but…remember: this isn’t just a leader of Ryouzanpaku but the oldest one, meaning…he’s going to be tough)
109.
Elder: Th…this mischief………for…for a person even like Sanen-sama to…to have this sort of appearance………!!
Elder: !!
110.
Elder: Ryo…Ryoukou-sama---!!
Ryoukou: That fool……!! He exposed himself as terribly unsightly, continuing from youngest brother Hakuhou…………!!
Elder: Aah!!
Ryoukou: There is no need to mourn for a person like this.
111.
Ryouzanpaku Fighters: ………!!
Elder: Ho…how could he say that, even to a relative differentiated by blood………!!
(TN: The elder actually speaks twice “blood” but in two different means: first by saying “chi wo wakeru” or “to be differentiated by blood”, but then again with “nikushin” which is literally a “blood relative”. I didn’t think it really worked saying “blood redundantly” so I just had him say it once with the connection)
Ryouzanpaku 1: E…even so, those guys from that Otokojuku……………!!
Ryouzanpaku 2: Wi….with this, somehow eldest brother Ryoukou can’t be negligent.
Ryoukou: Are you saying there is even a chance that I will lose to them……!!
Ryouzanpaku Fighter: Huh!!
Ryouzanpaku Fighter: We…well, Ryo…Ryoukou-sama, what are you saying…………!! I…I was merely……!!
112.
Ryoukou: RYOUZANPAKU HIOUGI: KOKATSU FUNKETSUSEN!!
(TN: “Kokatsu Funketsusen” = “Running-Dry Erupting-Blood Hail”)
Ryouzanpaku Fighter: HI!!
Ryouzanpaku Fighter: GUO!!
Ryouzanpkau Fighter: GAOU---!!
113.
Ryoukou: You should watch……!! Otokojuku……every one of them will be victimized by my hands alone!!
Ryouzanpaku Fighters: ……!!
114.
Ryouzanpaku 1: It’s…a dreadful technique, Kokatsu Funketsusen…………!!
Ryouzanpaku 2: I…I don’t understand……!! Ryo…Ryoukou’s fist didn’t touch his body with even a finger, and yet the blood in his body entirely flowed out to exhaustion and he’s like a mummy……!
Elder: You idiot……!! The…the dread isn’t just the technique. In…in truth, the dread is th…the thing that is that person……!!
Togashi: Ooh!! L…look---!
Toramaru: He’s descending from Ryouzanpaku’s encampment to the battlefield alone----!!
Toramaru: Ri…right: th…that guy is the last one of Ryouzanpaku’s Three Bossess---!! If…if we defeat that boss then, finally, that will mean our advancing to the tournament finals---!!
Togashi: Yosshaaa, it’s…it’s here that the most suitable to appear is me---!!
Toramaru: Hu---h?
Toramaru: Wh…what is this!?
Togashi: Th…this Myouchikurin Ball……………!?
(TN: I’m really not quite sure if I should have literally translated “myouchikurin” considering it’s just like the dessert bun I have referred to before…but since it hasn’t hurt before I decided to keep it as is…though it was tempting to go with the literal translation of “strange bamboo ball” due to the wood-appearing style of the ball here)
Voice: Here’s where you leave it to me!!
115.
Togashi & Toramaru: Wh…what---!! Raiden of Otokojuku’s Sanmenken---!
Raiden: I will thoroughly inspect him with the essentials of Daioujou-ryuu of my many days!! Will that be fine for that man!?
(TN: Raiden refers to his “Daioujou-ryuu” (Peaceful Death-style) as “hisabisa” which is “long time” or “many days”…I really didn’t know if it referred to Raiden’s own study of Daioujou-ryuu or in it’s explanation of being one of the oldest kenpou as we’ve had mention before…but I went with the former considering that Raiden essentially had kept with “Daioujou-ryuu” from day one compared to many other Otokojuku fighters)
Momotarou: Raiden……!!
Toramaru: So…so then, if…if that’s said by you, then even we can’t complain but
Togashi: Wh…while we’re at it, what’s with this ball…………!!
116.
Raiden: Fufufu…
(TN: Seeing Raiden laugh with kanji…is creepy.)
Toramaru: !!
Raiden: So then!!
117.
Toramaru: Did…did you see: wh…what was that now……!!
Togashi: Th…that Raiden, who always has a face that’s like he’s chewing up a bitter bug and hasn’t changed his facial expression once, is…is laughing…!!
(TN: Yeah, Togashi was literal with what he was saying: the expression of “a face that’s like he’s chewing up a sour bug” is literally in Japanese “nigamushi kamitsubushita you na kao”; while “kamitsubusu” is a verb for “to chew”, “nigamushi” is an expression for a “sour face”, but the literal translation is “bitter bug”, with the expression speaking as in “making a sour face as if chewing on a bitter bug”. Considering the “chewing” mention that Togashi mentions, it made more sense to say he had “a facial expression like he’s chewing a bitter bug” instead of merely saying “Raiden always has a sour face”, since it was literally going for the literal instead of the figurative)
Momotarou: …………!!
Date: It seems he’s going to perform a trivial matter.
Hien: Raiden, the man who has mastered the secrets of Daioujou-ryuu, which possesses the oldest history in Chinese kenpou and governs knowledge of all kenpou in this land and our Sanmenken……!! The inner depths of that man can’t be measured even by us.
118.
Ryoukou: What’s your pretense with that ball……………!?
Raiden: My name is Raiden of Otokojuku’s Sanmenken. Give your name!! That is the etiquette of a match.
119.
Ryoukou: I don’t need to.
Ryoukou: How could I come to give my name to someone like you, who will instantly die in that place!!
Ryoukou: First I’ll chop up this eyesore ball!!
120.
Ryoukou: Nu!?
Ryoukou: …………!!
Ryoukou: Now was……!?
Raiden: How will you do it? Can’t your sword cut merely things on the ground? That is your previous question in fighting against me.
(TN: A weird peculiarity I couldn’t quite translate: while I mentioned before probably that Raiden speaks in older, formal Japanese (using terms like “sessha” or “de gozaru”), he uses a term here of “kikou”, which is the equivalent of “you”, but for a person younger than the man speaking.)
121.
Toramaru: Wh…what----!! Wh…what was th…that----!
Togashi: It…was a hallucination of my eyes!! Th…the ball appeared to seem to move by itself and avoid Ryoukou’s sword---!
Ryoukou: Nun!!
122.
Ryoukou: Kuu!!
Toramaru: Uoo!! Wh…what’s going on---!
Togashi: Th…this isn’t some ha…hallucination in the eyes after all!! Th…that ball is moving on its own and avoiding Ryoukou’s sword---!
123.
Raiden: It’s still early to be surprised: from here will be the true meaning of the ball!!
Ryoukou: !!
Ryoukou: Nuu!!
Ryoukou: Na!!
124.-125.
Ryoukou: ………!!
Toramaru: Wh…what---!! Th…that’s---!
Togashi: Fr…from inside the split ball~~~!!
Togashi: A…ANOTHER RAIDEN HAS APPEARED---!!
Raiden: THIS IS DAIOUJOU-RYUU KYOKUOUGI: HANRYUU SOUTAI!! With this, your peaceful death is certain!!
(TN: A couple notes:
1. “Kyokuougi” = “Ultimate/Extreme Secret”
2. “Hanryuu Soutai” = “Tub-Flag Pair-Bodies”)
TN: Yeah...two Raidens...as if one container of ancient awesomeness is enough. It was strange though that this "other Raiden" had to hide away in a ball but at least it shows why Ryoukou had such a hard time with it, even if there really wasn't any means or measures to show how Raiden #2 was able to feel or see any of his opponent's attacks to allow to avoid all of them. Though somehow while I don't have to worry for Raiden (or his clone) just yet, there is the gruesomeness of whatever Ryoukou has that he pulled on the other guy...though I do find it sad that sometimes these characters on the villain side get so arrogant that they don't even allow for the potential question of "what if we don't win"...but hey, egos get knocked down. (and hopefully Raiden 1 and 2 will do that!)
