Funketsu Needles…a medical utensil used in ancient Chinese medicine. Driving this into the body, it can evacuate in great number to outside the body the bad blood and pus within the body by utilizing the difference in osmotic pressure possessed in blood.

Namely, the “tangerine catheter”, which it’s called in modern medicine, is an object of many thousands of years ago and there isn’t anything as wondrous in existence at the cutting edge of modern medical treatment theory.

TN: I've mentioned before about the "over-preparation" that Miyashita does in his matches and how they seem to either help a match (see Jaki's charm to Momo before the final Pharaoh Sphinx fight) or make it seem rather convoluted (Akashi with Momo's sword recently) Yet here...it just makes sense once again in how it was structured and what Miyashita was pulling. By demonstrating the glass needles (without showing them), then having Raiden bring back his monkeys he got from Enpou (who can see the things better than he can), it just made everything work in a good battle structure just how it was intended. Heck, considering we knew the danger of "medical needles" before (thank Hien for that), being made of glass just made them more dangerous both in their sharpness and in their potential for being super-hard to see. But hey, with Raiden finally catching on, this match may finally be in the bag...though something tells me we can't quite count Ryoukou out yet.
