Vol. 23: The Essence of a Young Man!!
Chp. 205: The Spear of Revenge!
7.
Ryoukou: You’re Otokojuku’s next game!! Shall I hear your name first!!
Date: You should come! I don’t possess a name that I can tell to scum like you!!
8.-9.

10.
(The two cliffs…just before the battle which will finally end it)
11.
Date: You can only die.
Ryoukou: Fu, you’ll come to regret that when your big mouth is struck by me. You too will repeat the same failure of that man called Raiden!!
Toramaru: We…we ask you, Date---!! Certainly clear away the regrets of Raiden who had taken his trick and achieved an untimely death---!!
Hien: That person is doing it frankly with emotions like those………!! It’s as if flames of revenge have risen up from his entire body………………!!
Momotarou: For being the person who leads the Sanmenken, this anger and sadness are tremendous……!!
12.
Ryoukou: Let’s go---!!
Ryoukou: Nun!!
13.
Ryoukou: TAKE THIS!! RYOUZANPAKU OUGI: HASSHIN HEISHA!!
(TN: “Hasshin Heisha” = “Hair-Needle Killing-Shoot”)
Date: !!
Date: Do you think you can use those tricks on me!!
Ryoukou: Ku!!
14.
Date: HAKYOKU-RYUU OUGI: CHIHOUJIN!!
(TN: Reminders:
1. “Hakyoku-ryuu” = “Ultimate Leader-Style” or “Supreme Pole-Style”
2. “Chihoujin” = “Thousand-Peak Dust”)
Ryoukou: UO!!
Ryoukou: NA!!
Kanji: DAIOUJOU (PEACEFUL DEATH)
15.
Date: This is Raiden’s dying wish. In addition, you won’t get killed!! You too will taste Raiden’s suffering!!
Toramaru: Th…that Ryoukou’s been completely being lead by the nose---!!
Togashi: A…amazing, Date!! Wh…what spear judgment---!! He…he can kill him instantly now if he wants to and yet---!!
Ryoukou: Fu, smart pretensions. But you’re a foolish man. Your only chance has escaped due to showing off that clever technique……!!
Date: ………………If it’s come to that, then this will be taken by you!!
16.
Date: HAKYOKU-RYUU OUGI: MUGEN TSUIKENSOU!!

20.
Ryoukou: ………..!!
Date: Don’t you understand yet!?
Date: Look closely!! There was a thin steel wire on the spear tip.
Ryoukou: Nu!!
Date: And this steel wire was tied to my body. You were convinced that this spear was an object that was chasing you down on it’s own without realizing this and was just running from place to place!!
21.
Toramaru: Wahhahaha: that was a masterpiece technique!!
Togashi: That Ryoukou, he was running around with a look of certain death without knowing of that---!!
Ryoukou: Y…you’re mocking me---!!
Ryoukou: Uhi!!
Date: Have you come to feel it a bit, the terror in death?
Date: It’s best if you gradually decide to resign!!
Ryoukou: Ho…hold on!! I…I recognize my defeat!!
Ryoukou: Bu…but before then………!!
22.
Date: !!
Ryoukou: Fufu: what did you see in the match with Raiden?
Date: ………………!!
Ryoukou: You can’t select a means for victory with me.
Toramaru: Wh…what---! Date’s been hurt---!!
Togashi: Th…that’s a firearm like a gun---!!
23.
Ryoukou: Fu: this is my final trump card. Naturally, the usage of guns in this Daibukai is prohibited but I don’t relate to those things.
Date: It seems your guts are more rotten than even trash.
Ryoukou: Whatever you say is fine.
24.
Togashi: Da…Date---!!
Toramaru: N…no----!! E…even with how he possesses spearsmanship, which is said to be a divine skill for Date, he can’t win against a gun----!
Ryoukou: If you have things you haven’t said, you should say them. You’ve ended up with scratches until now, but the next will go out of your forehead and we’ll draw a curtain on this match!!
Date: It’s…impossible. I can’t be defeated by you!!
Ryoukou: What are you grumbling!!
25.
Date: HA--!!
Ryoukou: Otto!!
Ryoukou: Fu, you still have that wicked mischief.
Ryoukou: !?
Ryoukou: Hu—h!? What, you’ve suddenly shown your back!!
26.
Date: The match is done. I don’t want to see the manner of death for a person like you!!
Ryoukou: What are you joking about!! It’s not me who is saying that showing his back and hesitating in attacking!!
Ryoukou: Mu!? What’s wrong with you; that tip of your spear has!?
Date: I should have said it: my spear will track you down to hell.
Ryoukou: NA!!
27.
Ryoukou: !!
Ryoukou: KYABA!!
Date: That death is appropriate for scum!!
TN: This has to be one of the strangest "endings" regarding a major opponent in this tournament thus far. This isn't the first time that a leader has taken two Otokojuku fighters to defeat, but the circumstances just seemed different between both of them. In the former, Rouroukan's leader Sou Reigen was just an arrogant brat who baselessly killed Dokugantetsu and needed Momo to bring him down to size and understand the horror of what he did. On the other hand, Ryoukou...was scum, pure and simple. Raiden essentially won the match and Ryoukou had to resort to taking monkeys hostage to win, possibly killing both of them in the process. And of course, as if he wasn't horrible enough, the jerk even has to resort to a gun, possibly the ultimate sacrilege in kenpou fighting and something that literally breaks all rules of the Daibukai. As horrible as some of what Toudou and the Daibukai pulls, having a fighter, even one who is supposed to be honorable and a member of a super-powerful team that won three tournaments with skill alone pull something this disgusting shows how lacking of honor he is in keeping Ryouzanpaku on top. Of course, we all know that Date, probably one of the most honorable and strangely most tormented fighters (remember some of how he felt when he thought Raiden died in the Paaren Seiha) would definitely make sure someone like him would not get back up and sort of kept in character in his hatred of some of the horrible things he does. (like turning around when his final attack smashes into Ryoukou's brain) The way he does it though was just neat, once again proving that everything weird and bizarre in this series always seems to have a means to an end. (though I never expected a fishing line manipulating a "magical spear" to be used by Date...but in this series, you have to expect anything.) But hey, with the last of the Ryouzanpaku leaders down, the strongest team is out of the tournament and Otokojuku can finally head to the finals...but of course, considering the near hell Ryouzanpaku gave, who knows if Otokojuku is finally ready for...well, whatever their finals opponent will give them! (though they can't be worse than even Ryouzanpaku...can they?)
