Momotarou: Fu, that’s convenient water. It’s like the magic kettle in rugby.
(TN: The “magic kettle” is in reference to an old tradition in Japanese rugby where the teams kept a kettle of water to refresh them during a match)

(TN: “Kyouhatsu Raijinken” = “Eliminating-Arrow-Sound Thunder-God Fist”; the “arrow sound” with the “kyou” reading is actually a Chinese definition, with a kanji whose only other meaning is “kabuyara”, which is a particular arrow to which is attached a whistle that is turnip in shape and made of hollowed-out wood or deer horn, thus the best meaning would be “the sound of a flying arrow”)

Commentary:
Kyouhatsu Raijinken… as it is widely known, there naturally exists in great numbers creatures which possess a power generation instrument within their bodies like the electric eel and the electric jellyfish. Even within the blood of humans, there is contained an ionic substance that carries an electric current, though it is miniscule.

Kyouhatsu Raijinken is said to be a secret within secret Chinese Kenpou where this can be amplified through training, becoming a powerful electric current and can falter an enemy through the excitement, defeating them. Its founder Shi Birei, who became a legend, was said to wreathe a copper wire on a bear over 10 shaku in height and electrocute it to death with one blow of this. In passing: even in the present, the word “Shibireru”, where you are deeply excited, has it’s origin in the name of Shi Birei.

TN: Oh Otokojuku, you never cease to amaze me on the insane extent of Chinese kenpou styles you can come up with. While it is somewhat knowledgeable that humans do have the power of electricity running into their bodies (including the ionic nature of fluids running within...ever heard of electrolytes?), the fact that even that can be honed into super-electrical powers for use in fighting is something only the weirdness of this series can come up with. Meanwhile, the fact that the electric powers worked against Red Thunder in a way I knew would happen...but not quite. I did figure somehow that the water from the Rimzon River would be crucial in what leads to the shocking...but I didn't expect that it would also be tied towards Momo attacking the Native's shoe, leading to his bare foot to get soaked in the water and thus take the shock in electrocuting him. Though...it was neat seeing Momo withstand the shockings up to that moment, even if you do have to sometimes wonder how much even he can take. (yeah he is the leader but even he has to have limits somehow...then again considering that he nearly died against Pharaoh, Red Thunder feels like nothing)
