Momotarou: You’ve been deserted by your guardian deity…!! From when your beliefs bent and you painted poison on the feather……!!

TN: Looking back now that the match is officially over, I have to admit that Red Thunder...was a tragic character. Yeah he was a jerk and performed very stupid things at the end (like the poisoned feather), but in a way he was a man torn between two aspects: his honor and the match. While there is no guarantee that Gouki or Toudou would have let him live if he lost to Momo and didn't perform that stunt, but he would have fought and even died with honor and respect, a true warrior befitting to his nature. But as Momo said: the moment he abandoned his honor to secure the match for his team was the moment he crossed that tenuous line that lead to his death. I don't want to really start a "theology vs. humanity" lesson here but I guess you have to take it from Red Thunder's perspective: being from a tribe who had strong faith in their gods, he was taught through them to perform and fight with honor. The moment he abandoned this honor for Toudou and his crooked means was the moment he sealed his own fate. BTW: I was about to complain about Momo having two swords but I think I remember him using his short sword once before but not in a long time, therefore it sort of worked for him...and wasn't just another "matter of convenience" like Akashi borrowing his sword. But hey, the first match of the finals is over...and who knows who will be fighting next if this is Toudou's ultimate "all-star team!" (let alone who on Otokojuku's side will go: heck if Momo took first crack at the Meiou Island 16-Warriors...then who is next, Togashi?)
