TN: Let me just flat out say it pure and simple: I hate this chapter. If you want to know why I hate this chapter, then reread it and try to pick it out. It isn't that hard to see if you are a Bo-bobo fan and know this series well enough.l..but here's a major hint: THEY SCREWED UP HISTORY! The words I mentioned in the previous chapter has finally come to pass...and it's all thanks to Pokomi, Namerou and that stupid Elite Academy.

Now, let me get this out of the way: I know history isn't something to mess with in Bo-bobo. It's a gag series, so weird things happen all the time in the history of characters, whether it be actual truth (Gunkan and Bo-bobo being trained by a juice can, Be-bebe spending part of his life as a cat, a good chunk of the stuff involving Torpedo Girl) or merely Hajike insanity (like, say, Gunkan and Bo-bobo fighting in a space war as robots...or Beauty being Don Patch's ultimate rival in one of his "angry incidents" he recalled as Don Patch.) But there was a catch: as insane as history got for all of these back-stories, there still remained a consistency regarding them. While the weirder story bits usually just turned out to be gags, many history aspects (even the weird ones) actually made sense and fit within a timeline that could actually be taken seriously. Ultimately, there was consistency and it gave this series part of it's unique weird flare.

Unfortunately...that doesn't exist in this flashback. We're honestly asked to consider, in a serious manner, the fact that Pokomi and Namerou were going to a school...set up for the establishment of new upper-tier warriors...for the Neo-Maruhage Empire...that was already in existence...two...years...ago. Now, let's just think about that for a moment, shall we.........THERE WAS NO NEO-MARUHAGE TWO YEARS AGO!! TWO YEARS AGO, TSURULINA 3RD WAS STILL IN CRYOGENIC SLUMBER WITH THE REST OF THE FORMER MARUHAGE AND DIDN'T EVEN WAKE UP UNTIL EVERY LAST BLOCK LEADER FROM HIS ERA WAS DEFEATED! And no, this isn't just some Hajike bit like I mentioned about where this is merely a gag we can laugh off: this is supposed to be treated respectfully as Pokomi and Namerou's (and possibly Tsurubinya) backstory! We're expected to believe that there was an elite academy tied to the Neo-Maruhage where these two went to two years ago...while Tsurulina the 4th still reigned and the 3rd was still asleep. And no, it's not like it's "set up by the 4th and the 3rd took it over when he became emperor again"; the students themselves literally state it was Neo-Maruhage...2 years ago!

I...just can't do it. I know that it isn't that bad of a flashback and it does explain a few things regarding Pokomi (though I doubt it with Namerou: if he was trained at the Elite Academy, then why the heck was he at Ramen High instead of automatically being a high-elite soldier like Pokomi or Tsurubinya?) and why she wasn't anywhere near Puppu City back when Heppokomaru was defending it and saving the world (which she really should have heard about...then again we've somehow entered a weird time-warp where the 3rd has always been the threat even though he was crushed by Bo-bobo a year ago and only is more powerful thanks to Bi-bibi's Hair Ball, thus it's the only way I can explain why Pokomi has no knowledge of the fight with the 4th), but I just can't accept that these two were at an academy for someone who was still asleep and not ruling the empire! That's why I hate this chapter...if it weren't for friggin time matters and how seriously it is treated, then maybe I could respect it but...it's just ridiculous for me to do so in a series with so much ridiculous things.

Then again...at least my day was made seeing the return of "Love Labyrinth"...ah, the good old days of Bo-bobo...when all we had to worry about were aliens who made you addicted to rice soup and took part in silly plays.
