Raja Mahal: Fu, with the nose of a typical elephant double-fold, it is known to stretch it out momentarily. But in case of Punjab, he can stretch its length 10 times from his natural qualities and training and can maintain that forever.

(TN: The way Togashi states “edge predicament” seems to be a bit of a pun: the word he uses for “edge” is “gakeppuchi”, which both is the edge of a precipice or a critical moment, thus Gekkou’s vault escaped both the edge of his problems and of the arena)

Toramaru: Lo…look---!! Th…the blood from Gekkou’s wounds are gushing with tremendous force into a mist form---!
Togashi: Th…that’s a similar kind of technique to what Hien used in the battle with Neskhons in the quarterfinal P – S battle---!!
(TN: For some stupid reason, Miyashita [or just Togashi] slipped again by calling the Pharaoh Sphinx fight the “semifinal”…that was the “quarterfinal” and the mistake was corrected)

TN: I really don't think Gekkou has to use the whole "Dumbo" bit again considering...well, Momo has already identified the real Dumbo in this series. (that's Pharaoh BTW for those who forgot) So aside from that, this chapter proves why elephants are not meant for battle manga: yeah they're big and they're deadly but in the end everything seems to be powerful enough to kill elephants...in particular the pure mass of them falling into a bottomless abyss while the opponent is protected by a telescopic kon. (considering that Date already essentially used something similar already with his spear...or was it someone else: sometimes these battle styles just blend in way too easily), it was surprising Gekkou had one. Likewise, it was also sort of surprising he also used a "blood mist" maneuver...but before you say "it's like Hien", it was...in theory. Hien's version was mostly a maneuver to mask the Kakushi Senbon he threw at Neskhons; Gekkou's was to essentially hide the ground from Punjab. So...with the elephant gone (really, doesn't Raja Mahal read Minmei Publishing's books about how everything kills elephants?), the battle can finally begin in earnest...which means we're going to be seeing some really strange stuff next time. (it's Otokojuku: when don't we see strange things?)
