(TN: Note the clock: obviously the day was "May 5th" with the day being "Friday", which is considered the 5th day of the week, and the time is obvious...)

(TN: Weirdly this is in reference to a video game that hadn't been released as of the release of this chapter: "Culdcept Saga" is a tactical video game tied to the "Culdcept" franchise, which is strangely a Monopoly-like game where you lay claim to spaces on a board, then use special monster cards to protect your position who either collects a toll for passage or is challenged by an opponent's monster. The video game version actually wasn't released in Japan until November, 2006, with this chapter released in August/September, 2006...and the American counterpart not seeing release until 2008...thus Bo-bobo's whole comment about capturing)

Bo-bobo is referring to Josuke Higashikata [the lead character and the controller of the Stand Crazy Diamond], Gaou is his main ally/friend Koichi Hirose (user of the Stand Echoes) and Don Patch is villain Yoshikage Kira, the infamous murderer who controls the power of Killer Queen)

TN: I guess I have to be honest about how I saw this chapter:
-Namerou talking
-Blah blah blah
-Funny bit by Bo-bobo's group
-Namerou being annoying with his power
-Funny bit
-Namerou stopping it
-Blah blah blah

Yeah I know I'm probably sounding rude, but this whole sub-plot with Namerou being this uber-warrior heir is just getting annoying. I mean, considering that not even Sawai seemed to know when he created Namerou that he would be the future emperor even with his hidden power (he mentioned it in a commentary post-chapter), he seemed like he tried to take it to a logical conclusion...but at the same time it just makes everything he says and does seem rather annoying. While Namerou wasn't the only problem I had with this chapter, he was the most prominent one: we get it, you're powerful, the future emperor and the 3rd loves you...can you please shut it already!? The only other real problems I had were a couple but more like nitpicks:
-Another "video-game that's just coming out now" reference with that whole Culdcept Saga bit...couldn't Sawai at least go with a more notable and classic strategy game instead of just parasiting off new releases?
-Bo-bobo's sudden complaint that "he doesn't have enough power to last through this fight with Namerou"...wait, so, how much time has really passed anyway? Did they literally just drop into Nagoya, fight the brothers, fight Pokomi, barely get out (while Bo-bobo slept so he should have retaken some of his power) to fight the Heavenly Kings...and now fight Namerou again? He's fought more consecutive battles in a shorter period of time than this so I don't get why he's saying this...sure the Neo-Maruhage forces are much more powerful and all the Ougi seem to be Chouougi as of late, but it's not like he's ever had to fight consecutive battles of this magnitude in a short period before. (and as I said: he rested between defeating Pokomi and arriving at the Academy so he should have reclaimed some power...then again what are the standards for taking/reclaiming power in this universe anyway?) I mean there have been moments before when Bo-bobo was ineffective in battle but it was more used in gags as to why...sometimes I think Sawai is acting way too serious for a story that is supposed to be silly.

Strangely, though, once I got past all that stupidity and nonsense, it was a decent chapter with a lot of great bits. I mean, in between Namerou's ranting and Bo-bobo being tossed around like a rag doll, we have Dragon Ball, Kinnikuman and JoJo references and more insane Nu-merchandise and Don Patch bits. (Gaou...yeah, he's just there, less said the better) As for Pokomi's dilemma...she seems like the only character with any real sense of pathos now: she knows the terror of being manipulated by the empire better than Namerou (who was a jerk about it all this time and now seems to just be at Ramen High as punishment or just to hide away after all that happened in the Elite Academy) and just doesn't want to see him suffer in the same way, destiny or not. Hopefully she and Bo-bobo came up with...something for next time, but we can't really say what.
