Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 225
Mongolia’s Ultimate Dueling Method!!
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 225
Toramaru on the rebound was finally able to take down Kyrgyz Khan, but is this truly the end of the large Mongolian fighter? And what sort of troubles will the next Otokojuku fighter face diving into battle with the Sankyousen?
Chp. 225: Mongolia’s Ultimate Dueling Method!!
47.
Momotarou: Fu, he…he’s a great man.
Togashi: A…an unbelievable great turnaround.
Toramaru: I…won…………
Toramaru: Th…this was won by me…………!!
48.
(Title page…be careful of that long drop!)
49.
Toramaru: Uwahhaha: ho…how’s that; did you see my true power~~~!! Wi…with this, I won’t have to be called by everyone as Otokojuku’s eternal on-the-spot relay announcer---!! Kakkaka: it’s a satisfactory great victory---!!
Togashi: Y…you dummy, Toramaru---!! What are you yelling about with that fundoshi---! Si…since you’re fine, hurry and come back up!! Y…you can be pleased about this later---!
Toramaru: Otto, I…can’t have this.
Toramaru: Really, this fundoshi can be useful like this too.
Toramaru: N!?
50.
Toramaru: WH…WHAT~~~~!!
Kyrgyz: Ugugugu!!
Toramaru: Wh…what: you haven’t fallen down yet---!!
Kyrgyz: I…I’m begging you, save me!! I…I don’t want to die yet---! I…I acknowledge my defeat! Y…you won---!! Uoo----!! No…now quickly pull me up---!
51.
Toramaru: …………!! It…it isn’t a lie that you’re acknowledging defeat!?
Kyrgyz: A…aah, of…of course. Th…the match is already over.
Toramaru: Chi…I…I have no choice, man.
Kyrgyz:; Ooh, I’m…grateful.
Togashi: Wh…what is he doing, th…that softhearted----!! To…Toramaru, don’t believe in that guy’s words~~~~!! Do…do you think you can fight him once more and win-----!!
Toramaru: Sa…saying that, I…I don’t have a reason to abandon him with this---!!
Toramaru: Soryaa----!!
52.
Kyrgyz: Die---!! Fool--!
Toramaru: Wha!!
Togashi: To…Toramaru~~~!! Th…that dirty gu…guy after all---!!
53.
Kyrgyz: Uh!!
Toramaru: Doryaa---!!
Kyrgyz: Uo!!
54.
Kyrgyz: Hiyaaa----!!
Toramaru: Th…that a**hole did that dirty behavior…………!! N…now I’m certain he’s going to hell…………!!
Momotarou: He completely is a thrilling guy.
Togashi: Lo…look at that, he shrunk my lifespan!!
55.
Toramaru: Bu…but, that guy who threw that throwing stone and rescued me from that close-call crisis now was…………!? It…it wouldn’t have been released from there from Momo or the others and reached here………………!!
Toramaru: !!
Toramaru: Wha!?
Toramaru: IT’S…YOU----!!
56.
Toramaru: O…OTOKOJUKU’S 2ND HELPER: SHOUKAKU---!!
Momotarou: Th…that man…………!! He…unawaringly is on the battleground……………!?
Toramaru: Di…did you rescue me!? You saved me.
“Shoukaku”: Your gratitude is unnecessary. You should quickly return to your own camp!!
(TN: I did mention last time that they pretty much revealed who Shoukaku is…but for the sake of this, I will keep it in quotes as Shoukaku for the moment)
57.
“Shoukaku”: I was interfering from the side, so don’t complain. The act of your ally was one that was inferior even to brutes………!!
“Short Hair”: It seems you’re the next competition opponent……!!
“Shoukaku”: Right………!! This Shoukaku will be your opponent!!
58.
“Shoukaku”: Go!!
Toramaru: Ah, yes.
Toramaru: Fo…for this, I leave you the rest---!!
Date: He’s a strange man……that man who hasn’t revealed his real face under that mask…………!!
Momotarou: But now his true identity and his reasons will be revealed……!!
“Shoukaku”: Now, which is my opponent? If you want, I don’t mind if its both of you together……!!
59.
“Short Hair”: Ha---!!
60.
Qubilai: My name is Mongol Sankyousen’s Qubilai Khan!! Your conceited mouth will come to be shut forever!!
(TN: This is a peculiar name considering how…it’s essentially an actual Khan name…sort of. The Japanese name for the “second” Khan is “Fubirai”, which is one of several ways of saying “Kubilai” or “Kublai” as in “Kublai Khan”, the notable Mongolian emperor famous for being the only conqueror of foreign lands outside his grandfather Genghis…and as the man who met with Marco Polo when he visited China. While the easy way of referring to his name is to just call him “Kublai Khan”, the fact that it is “Fubirai” in Japanese (and that “Kubilai”/”Kubirai” is technically the actual way of saying “Kublai” in Japenese), I decided to go with a slightly alternate reading for his name so it could “sort of” be connected to the emperor but not. In this case, I chose to use “Qubilai”, another Japanese reading that sounds similar to “Kubilai” without being specifically “Kublai”. But then, if you want to call him “Fubirai” or even “Kublai”, go right ahead)
Qubilai: But this seemed to have been useful for a bit. In that case, shall we splendidly undertake this!!
“Shoukaku”: ………!!
61.
“Shoukaku”: !!
“Shoukaku”: NA!!
62.
Qubilai: This is the ultimate dueling method: Suiron Pookyuu!!
(TN: “Suiron Pookyuu” = “Water-Dragon Seriously-Dedicated Sphere”)
Toramaru: Wh…what is th…that---!!
Togashi: The…ground of the battleground split and a huge glass-ball like thing has appeared from within~~~~!!
63.
Qubilai: What you’ve already judged is in here………………!! Within this glass ball is filled with water. It’s a battle that’s underwater!! The only place with an air hole is the ceiling……!!
Qubilai: In the midst of battle, the only place you can breathe is here.
Qubilai: Well, what will you do!?
“Shoukaku”: …………!!
64.
Commentary:
Suiron Pookyuu…in all places and times, fellow martial artists have many dueling methods that occur that should determine the men from the boys; but even among them, Suiron Pookyuu, which was introduced in Mongolia, is famous as the harshest one. It uses glass spheres from the development of glass arts since then, but at first it was fought by fully filling a 7 meter wooden tub and until one of them died within it.
Being underwater, naturally, limits time; further the pain from consuming physical strength at three times that of usual with movements from the resistance of water is beyond imagination. Incidentally, the calling the person who lost in this dueling method “dozai moon” (“Drowning Mind”) in Mongolian is the etymology of calling a drowned body “Dozaemon” in Japan.
-From “Swim! Equestrian Tribes”, Minmei Publishing
(TN: “Drowned Body” being called “Dozaemon” isn’t based on “Dozai Moon” in actuality [unless you believe in Minmei Publishing’s words] but in actuality is based on Narusegawa Dozaemon, a Tokugawa-era sumo wrestler with a pale complexion)
Togashi: Th…that idiot---!! Who would do this by choice and take on this match---!
Toramaru: Right: you’re a goldfish, if you want to do it, then do it on your own---!!
Togashi: Hey, Shoukaku, don’t ride along with his cajoling---!!
“Shoukaku”: Fu, interesting…………!!
Toramaru: Wha!!
Togashi: It…can’t be: he…he’ll----!!
65.
“Shoukaku”: I’ll undertake this match!!
Qubilai: I’ll show you: the many secret arts of Mongol Suichuu Touhou!!
(TN: This is a rather straight-forward battle style, but considering it is a battle style I have to keep it in Japanese. “Mongol Suichuu Touhou” = “Mongolian Underwater Battle-Method”)
TN: First, a little bit of explanation: yeah it should be obvious by now who Shoukaku is considering what happened back in the Ryouzanpaku fight. But I decided to rekeep the mystery here for those who came in late...or in case "he" was lying to us and he turns out to be someone else. I mean it for the most part is obvious who it is but you have to at least make sure of it. Meanwhile: you have to admire the Mongol Sankyousen for hiding all these large and elaborate battle arenas within one small zone. You have to consider all it took to do so and how crazy it is...but those still trying to find logic in Otokojuku probably stopped reading it long ago. Besides, Qubilai Khan (yeah I know I should use many other names instead of that) is essentially going to be fighting in a giant fishbowl...which speaks for itself. As for Kyrgyz's bit at the start...aside from him deserving his death, it does seem to be a recurring problem in this series: when does an opponent claim they give up actually give up and when do they just lie and take advantage of their opponent's stupidity? My guess: usually if they still have a will to fight, they keep fighting. (remember Henshouki's fake hand bit) But if they're still alive and been beaten senseless to defeat, then for the most part it's over. Togashi was right in calling Toramaru an idiot for letting a still active Kyrgyz trick him (though Toramaru can be called an idiot for many reasons)...but at least that pebble knocked him down to where he belonged.
