(TN: All right, I think I can finally explain fully the purpose/meaning of the "manga" Don Patch is parodying. It was around this point in 2006 that the results for the monthly Shueisha shonen magazine, Monthly Shonen Jump, were shown to be their lowest ever, ultimately leading to the magazine's cancellation as of June, 2007. The manga that Don Patch is using to recognize the "good old days" of Monthly Jump is actually a MSJ title: "Abare Hana-Gumi", a school/yankee series that...well, honestly from some of the research I did for it, it's hard to tell if it was from the 70s or the 80s)

-"Tokoro Grass" Assumably is something I think is similar to the infamous "Chia-Pets", originally introduced in 1982 and made of terracotta pets that grow moistened "Salvia Hispanica", a Mexican variety of chia
-There is a variety of boxing games sort of like the one depicted where the fighters directly control their fighters in the ring, but honestly I really can't say what sort of toy that is...since I mostly know of "Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots"
-"Yutarou" or "Oyoge Yutarou" is a bath toy notable for swimming on it's own while in the bath.
-"Plamo" is obviously a short version of "Plastic Model"
-"Barcode Battler" is a game introduced in Japan in 1991 by Epoch involving the collection of barcodes to scan into a device for "battles". While extremely popular in it's homeland, it was also introduced to other parts of the world in 1992, where it bombed
-"Red Photon Zillion" is in reference to an 1987-88 anime produced by Tatsunoko Productions and video game company Sega, who produced special light phasers used on the show that were tied both to a video-game tie-in as well as devised with the "Q-Zar" laser tag games that were also connected to the franchise. TN: Honestly I really don't quite get the big deal about the introduction of a new type of combo attack for finishing off Master Joy. As powerful as the final attack was, it still essentially just felt like a traditional Kyouryoku Ougi...only with Hatenko having unlocked Don Patch and Tennosuke's full potential beforehand. (yeah we saw way back in the original: when Hatenko unlocks potential, in particular after all they went through with Torpedo Girl...it really does pack a wallop) It was a really cool attack (somehow it gave me a weird Yusuke "Spirit/Rei Gun" vibe) but calling it something more special just felt off. Anyway, I think the main hell of this chapter was just in that whole "punishment" Master Joy gave to Tennosuke with a bunch of Japanese toys and fads that just required a ton of research, and some of which (that doll thing) I still don't quite get! But then again...Tennosuke taking the fall for other people just seems like one of those running gags that never goes away. (though it does make me wish OVER was around since...well he seemed to excel at "random Tennosuke punishment") Then again...if it weren't for all of the fad references, then the hardest moment would have been the random "Abare Hana-gumi" bit, which...well, I never even heard of the manga and there is really little on even the web about it outside people trying to sell the series! (if anyone is willing to buy it or get it for me, I'm willing to TL it...but I'll probably forget about it after this chapter...but with so many other "yankee manga" out there, are we ready for yet another?) Though...I also sort of dread the next fight too...as we go from figuring out Japanese fads and obscure shonen manga...to some good old fashion gambling rules! (the good news: it's not the headache of mah-jong for once...but from what it appears, it's probably still bad...especially since its the specialty for our next villain...or maybe "villainess"...)
