(Translator's Note: Its just amazing: one moment we seem in the start of another long, weird battle...and the next Don Patch destroys all the enemies like they're fodder. Like many of you, I was shocked by how one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" was merely made fodder but...in a way, that's the unpredictable nature of the series. One thing I realized with this reading, though, was that Don Patch really never was active in the fighting until this point. Sure he had plenty of "battle moments" and had joined in twice in Bo-bobo World, but this is where he starts actually becoming an affective, important battle ally instead of merely being a goof-off. In a way, you could also start seeing this as the start of Hajikelism being not just being a weird way of life...but an effective and important battle style...then again, you could have ascertained that from Bo-bobo, Tennosuke or Gunkan. The only other thing this chapter brought up was the enigma that is Purupuu's assistant Lamune. For most of this mini-battle, she was depicted as this serious, obediant servant of a member of the Four Heavenly Kings. However, the whole "pure maiden" moment she had with Hatenko (complete with that weird "Saint Seiya" imagery) showed a different side of her...one that is more seen in things outside the Bo-bobo manga, particularly in the video games such as the Hatenko path of the GBA game "Bakutou! Hajike Taisen" I somehow wish this could have been expanded on...but of course this is the last time we see Lamune. Too bad)
