Some people just aren't made for the summer...likewise some youkai. But for Yukime to prove her love, she's going to have to get through some of the harshest aspects of her hated season, including...getting a tan!?

(TN: Nube refers to Yukime here as a “daikon mimizu”, which is a grub that eats upon daikon radishes, presumably a member of the family of flea beetles)

Yukime: Hold on, teacher…
Nube: Don’t come following! I don’t want to see all of your troubles!
Nube: That seemed cold but…you are a youkai… it’s impossible for you to live in the human world after all.
Yukime: Teacher!
Nube: Showing superficial kindness will just invite attachment…if I don’t thrust you away by making my heart a demon…

Miki: Really, he’s brought those things of his tedious habits for a sea-water swim~~ (that’s why he’s not popular…)

Katsuya: It’s a guileless Fujourei, but there’s a fear that it’s drawing people down. It was well seen in the swimming area. There have been consecutive solo deaths and it has drawn in many people.
Nube: It’s called Misaki: it’s thinking that it can rest in peace itself by drawing people down. This can’t be ignored.
(TN: While I can’t really speak too much about it, the “Misaki” is presumably related to the “Seven Misaki” from a previous chapter)
Hiroshi: Hey…how far are we going?
Kyouko: Further, to the open sea—
Hiroshi: Chie, watch out—in spite that you can’t swim.
Kyouko: Don’t state complaints; Hi Ho Silver
(TN: Kyouko’s yell, for those who don’t know, is the call of the famous radio/TV character “The Lone Ranger”)

Kyouko: The portion that melted and she replenished mixed with the coffee’s color.
Hiroshi: That’s a random body…

Nube: Th…that’s filthy—(to himself) Humans and youkai aren’t suitable after all…
(TN: “Engachou” is an expression where usually a child plays around and touches dirty things intentionally)

TN: Am I the only one who felt a strange deja vu with this chapter? It almost felt like a slight (but not complete) rerun of the figure skating incident with Nube and Yukime: Yukime shows up to cause trouble (though I don't get how it could be daily when she hasn't shown up in a while...well, since the start of the last volume), goes with Nube somewhere, does stuff to try and prove her love, Nube turns her down to prove humans and youkai aren't meant to be together, something happens when they work together, Nube regrets previous actions...but then regrets being with Yukime somehow or another! Yeah, this time it took place in the summer and at least it did bring out certain aspects of a yukionna in their weakest period (compared to...well, the winter where they can create a Yukiwarashi that destroys the city), but the similarities didn't get lost on me. But hey, at least coffee is a clever way to get a tan for Yukime...and until everything nearly melted away (and she became Kyouko-like), the black swimsuit was really sexy...let alone all the cuteness of her complaints. I'm not saying I hated this chapter (because I didn't), but I just felt so much similarities to the figure skating chapter that I had to comment on it here.
