Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 271
Enemy Combatant: Gekkou!!
-> RTS Page for Sakigake!! Otoko Juku 271
Finally at the Royal Palace at the end of the road, Momotarou must face an unexpected opponed: a Nazi scientist controlling...TWIN CLONES OF HIT...er, former Otokojuku ally Gekkou! Can Momo bring a former ally to his senses!?
Chp. 271: Enemy Combatant: Gekkou!!
47.
Togashi & Toramaru: I…don’t believe this………!!
Date: Th…that’s evidently Gekkou……!!
Momotarou: Ge…Gekkou is alive---!!
48.
(Title page…Gekkou’s eyes just look freaky now…heck his whole form now is!)
49.
Momotarou: Wh…what is this………!! A…am I seeing a dream…………!!
Momotarou: But are…aren’t I happy about this……!! You who I though had died in the battle of Raja Mahal of the Meiou Island 16-Warriors on the Tenchou Gorin Daibukai, is alive…………!!
Momotarou: But why are you here……..!?
Gekkou: I’ll tell you!! The answer is this!!
Momotarou: !?
50.
Gekkou: So I can kill every one of you of Otokojuku!!
Momotarou: Wha!!
Togashi & Toramaru: Ge…Gekkou---!?
Momotarou: …………!?
51.
Gekkou: Nuuu!!
Momotarou: Wa…wait, Gekkou!! Wh…what exactly are you saying----!?
Momotarou: Ku!!
52.
Momotarou: S…stop!! Stop this, Gekkou---!
Momotarou: I…I don’t understand---!!
Gekkou: You don’t know!!
Momotarou: !! Those eyes…………!?
Toramaru: Uoo! What’s wrong here; Gekkou is---!!
Togashi: We…we should be delighted by this unexpected reunion, and yet he’s brandishing his kon and is knocking down Momo in serious---!!
53.
Eberstein: That is fine, Gekkou. You are my perfect opus!!
Momotarou: You’re called Doctor Eberstein. Wh…what have you done to Gekkou!?
Eberstein: Fufu, let me tell you.
Eberstein: When I was the chief of the Living Body’s Chemical Research Lab of the Nazis during World War II, my great Furher Hitler brought down this order to me.
Eberstein: This order was to remodel the human brain through medical and chemical technology and produce loyal subordinates who absolutely won’t betray at all……………!! The Furher was a person with an unusually strong suspicion that couldn’t believe even in subordinates who surrounded him.
54.
Eberstein: And thus, my experiments were successful and today I have been given a request to the “Dark Tusks” for my skills again; Gekkou who is here is one that I call extraordinary. Already, this man is not the Gekkou who was an ally that once knew all of you!!
Momotarou: Y…you………!!
Toramaru: Da…damn this---!! That joking, spoiled heretic----!
Togashi: Bu…but, why is Gekkou, who should be dead, under their hands…………!!
Eberstein: Fufu: the intelligence network of the “Dark Tusks” can’t be taken lightly. The full story even of the previous Tenchou Gorin Daibukai was observed by us.
55.
Eberstein: At that moment, Gekkou hadn’t died yet. Gekkou, who had fallen into the bottom of the ravine and at death’s door was given first-aid treatment and transported by the reconnaissance personnel of the “Dark Tusks”. At any rate, it’s because raw materials of this extent is a thing you can rarely find.
Eberstein: And finally, I shall say one thing: Even if you try to get Gekkou’s memories as they were before, that’s absolutely impossible!!
Momotarou: Im…impossible………!!
Eberstein: Well, Gekkou, that’s enough of your play. Gradually show me your true power.
Gekkou: Certainly, master!!
56.
Momotaoru: !?
Gekkou: CHAKU-KE OUGI: SUUKASSHUU!!
(TN: A couple things:
-Reminder: “Chaku-ke” = “Walk-School”
-“Suukasshuu” = “Quick-Sliding Attack”)
57.
Momotarou: Th…that’s!!
58.
Momotarou: Gu!!
Togashi: Wh…what is that blade which has that strange shape with balls attached on both ends----!! It’s…it’s attacking with tremendous speed while with a diffused reflection to the walls in every direction---!!
Commentary:
Suukasshuu…a weapon devised for usage in indoor battles in China’s Ming Dynasty. It’s characteristic is a unique rubber spheres that are enriched with extreme elasticity. You attack with this and it is reflected by the walls, floor and ceiling and it strikes the enemy. Of course, exquisite calculations for the angle of reflection is necessary.
Incidentally, the prototype of squash, an indoor ball game in the present, can of course be guessed by a wise reader by this.
-From “The Influence of Chinese Civilization in Indoor Ball Games”, Minmei Publishing
(TN: Incidentally, the Japanese name for “squash” is “sukasshuu”…I think we can figure that from here)
59.
Gekkou: I have this ready for a bit. But how about if I increase with one more Suukasshuu!!
Gekkou: Ha---!!
Momotarou: Ku!!
60.
Momotarou: !!
Momotarou: Nugu!!
61.
Momotarou: Gaha!!
Toramaru: Mo…Momo~~!!
Togashi: Wh…what has this come to---!! Wi…with this, Momo will really be killed by Gekkou---!
Eberstein: Uwahhaha, great Gekkou!! This man really can’t use his arms or legs---!!
Momotarou: Ho…how about this!!
62.
Momotarou: If you think I’ll be defeated so easily, you’re mistaken!!
Eberstein: Huh!!
Eberstein: Hii, Ge…Gekkou---!!
63.
Eberstein: Hi!!
Momotarou: I’ve caught you!! You’ve been modified to have absolute obedience to your master and naturally should have set out that action now so you can protect your master!!
Gekkou: Nuu!!
Momotarou: With that, you’ve come to not have your flying tools!!
64.
Gekkou: !!
Gekkou: …………!!
Momotarou: Re…remember!! Y…you won’t be attacked by me!!
Momotarou: We…we’re allies of the same Otokojuku!! Our bonds are should be tied stronger than anything!! Gekkou………!!
Gekkou: Momo……!!
Momotarou: !! My…my name………!!
65.
Gekkou: You’re a soft man!!
Momotarou: Gaha!!
Momotarou: Ge…Gekkou~~~~!!
TN: First off, can someone calm my mind down before I mention "Superman At Earth's End" again? We don't want that ruining another one of my post-chapter commentaries.
Then again, the whole situation as it is presented is somewhat of a weird but tragic one. Honestly, I'm really confused as to how the Dark Tusks would even get their hands on someone who was essentially stabbed by his own Kon and thrown into a ravine after fighting the madness that was Raja Mahal...but worse has probably happened in this series and they've survived so I guess they need an excuse and it works somehow. (sure it doesn't stop someone saving Jaki from blowing himself up but at this point one wouldn't be surprised if that happened actually in this manga) Heck, if they knew of Otokojuku's power from the Daibukai by being there, then why the heck doesn't the Dark Tusks prep up a better way of showing them off without sacrificing so many of their men already before resorting to one of Otokojuku's own. And then there Eberstein...well, I can't use the "Superman at Earth's End" line anymore with him, but I can use another infamous one: anyone remember Mel Brooks' mad scientist from "The Muppet Movie"? OK, maybe he wasn't a Nazi, but the whole idea of a German using brainwashing to make someone super-loyal makes me reminded of that.
So what does this have to do with Otokojuku? Honestly, nothing really. The chapter was rather cut and dry and we see a lot of Momo sacrificing and even taking a major hit deceived by Gekkou in order to try and save him and make him realize who he is while Gekkou slowly comes to while attacking the mad Nazi up above...it's good stuff, but all the other stuff around it just makes me go off on tangents again! Maybe next time, with the end of the whole climactic fight, I won't be so deviant.
Ribbit...ribbit...uugh. (collapses)
