Momotarou: Let’s go: to the Fourth Tusk!!

TN: Now that's how a character should go out: as a respected, powerful hero and senpai. After all the complaints regarding how his fight turned out and all of the nonsense that occurred surrounding it, Akashi's final sacrifice and death seemed to make up for it in a grand, amazing way that was slightly touching even if somewhat abrupt. The way he actually seemed to not care anymore about how torn up he was just so he could deliver a Zanganken to escape Alcatraz and dissapate the smoke that would have killed everyone at the prison shows how much he cares about his underclassmen, considering he's the eldest one there. This ending isn't anything like Jaki, where we literally see an untouchable king sacrifice himself at the end of his glorious reign. Akashi has been there from the beginning (well vol. 2) and was a close, dear senpai to Momo and the main First-Years through the early part of the manga. Even though he didn't do as much as one would expect, he was a major piece of the Otokojuku fabric, thus his departure to ensure the other's survival allows for him to be given a more human ending compared to many of the other deaths we've seen in this series. And somehow this ending just also gives off closure that Akashi really isn't coming back and did his point, even giving his Zanganken to Momo (who only has used it once) and making amends with Toramaru before departure (even if the only real problem was how abrupt he chided him before his fights recently) Likewise, while Akashi's end was sad but epic, Siegfried got the appropriate death: killing himself by way of Hien's nerve manipulation. Heck, when even Toudou questions what you're doing and prefers something long and painful instead of "get it over with", you know how much of a sicko you are. Though...with how bizarre this series is getting with recent revelations, who knows what the 4th Tusk will bring.
