(TN: Yes, this transformation is essentially “Don Patch”…but the emphasis is on the “Don”. In particular, the “do” in his name has been replaced by the “angry” kanji I mentioned earlier. Thus with that and with the “n” in his name italicized, I decided to show the difference with the regular Don Patch by making the first Don in Don Patch italicized)

TN: You probably have heard me before talk praise about many of those extremely classic Bo-bobo chapters: ones that just show the pinnacle in it's combination of writing, comedy, action and a whole lot of other stuff to make it special. Usually these epic chapters have had one main focus carrying us through for the whole chapter from start to finish. However this...was two epic chapters in one! The first half of the chapter was just a crazy storyline involving everyone both trying to help/stop/avoid the now transformed Heppokomaru...whom while somewhat confusing usually when in Baby Mode normally, is a threat to everyone and everything in his giant Baby Mode! Just watching this big baby toss everyone around, bring Hanpen to his knees and even getting Halon Oni to (temporarily) truce with them was classic stuff. But then...Halon Oni transformed...and the chapter just went to another level, particularly with the birth of Don Patch (whom we'll see more of next time) Just seeing Don Patch acting so...normal in his transformed golden state was just so shocking and bad-ass for the usually comedic character! However, probably one of my favorite scenes (which the anime never did) was Hanpen becoming so crab-like after his head-chopping that he just starts skittling on a beach waving his fingers and acting like a real crab! (topped off by Beauty's "he'll be back" comment) While Hanpen's tragedy was supposed to be the climax leading to Don Patch's birth, that little bit just showed how even tragic moments lead to insanity in this series! Next time...well, more epic stuff with the golden Hajikelist...and oh yeah, some weird surprises.
