(TN: “Shamei Hissou” is “abandon your life for a certain victory”; the first word really was untranslatable so that’s why I ended up keeping in Japanese. The full name is “Shamei Hisshou no Shouzoku”)

TN: Now that was sad. After some of the dissappointing stuff with the whole genjutsu battle style Taaren showed the last couple chapters, this chapter makes up for it big time by explaining the whole situation in why he and the current Kennou are in the situations they are in the positions they are at this time. Then again, the saddest part is that we really don't know if Taaren was really strong enough to be Kennou of Shinken Temple at this point, but seeing him unawaringly throwing the match to give Kennou both Shunran and the temple. But then again, if he did win that match, he would have ended up with her...but who knows what would have happened both to her and Kennou, so maybe it was for the better. Besides...Taaren just feels more at home as an ally of Edajima than this Kennou who seems more like a weird homage to Hokuto no Ken. (though no one would expect him to be as young as he is with how old he appeared prior and with how long he seems like he's been allied with Otokojuku and Edajima...but I guess it's just he aged quickly or something) Then again...somehow it's a miracle whenever Miyashita actually draws a female...and not a man in drag...or our recent "woman who lookslike a man".
