(TN: “Mysterious Thing X” is a common name for an “unknown object” in Japanese culture. One prominently known means of this is through the Japanese title “Yuusei Yori Buttai X” or “Thing X from a Wandering Star”, which is the Japanese title for the 1951 American sci-fi film “The Thing From Another World”. [strangely enough, the John Carpenter 1982 remake “The Thing” was given the Japanese title “Yuusei Kara Buttai X”, which translates to the exact same title])

TN: Well I think you all need an explanation...no, not about the Softon matter, that will be handled another time. What we need to explain is more pressing to this chapter: the fan-created characters! Basically it's like this: around the 4th anniversary chapter of Bo-bobo (around the start of Hair Kingdom), Sawai & WSJ held a special contest where the readers of Bo-bobo had the chance to create their own characters for the series. While previous character submissions were used for the Bo-bobo video games, this was the first time Bo-bobo proper got the same treatment. Three winning submissions would be chosen, with the grand prize winner...having their character being one of the 6 most powerful of the Hair Kingdom commanders! (which considering the previous comments is a definate honor) Well for some reason...Hell Dolphin won. I don't get why a dolphin with legs and a taste for humans would win this but Sawai must have seen something original in it. Even the cover art of this chapter was Sawai-chosen...well he chose it and then replicated it with his own touches. (trust me: the winning artwork had Tennosuke alive) Since this chapter was mostly just an extended prize announcement (outside...that beginning), we'll get to the real fight next time...where that beginning will get a bit more cleared up!
