Shizuku- Miyabi, a village wine and a grand cru’s wine in Burgundy are completely different things, right?// Miyabi- Huh? Yeah, that’s right.

あたしの記憶だと//「グロ・フレール・エ・セール」の「村名ワイン」は３千円ちょっとで買えたはず
From what I remember,// you can buy Gros Frere et Soeur’s village wines for a little more than 3000 yen.

それに比べて特急畑の中でも人気の高い「エシェゾー」は少なくとも倍以上の値段のはずだし……
Compared to that, Echezeaux, a popular wine among even the grand crus, should be at the least a couple times more than that…..

特急畑というのは畑の土の質や日当たり//水はけなどの葡萄を取り巻く環境が特に優れていると認められた畑のことなの
A grand cru is a field where the grapes are surrounded by// an environment where the quality of the soil, the sunshine and the water drainage have been recognized as exceptional.

そこで穫れた葡萄から造られたワインの特徴は土質が味わいや香に日当たりや水はけが果実味となって現れるの//これが畑の環境や性質　つまり｢テロワール｣と呼ばれるものなの
The characteristics of the soil appear in the savor of the fruit and the sunshine and drainage in the aroma. The characteristics of a wine then are from the grapes. // This is the field’s environment and character. Also called its terroir.

その村のどこかの畑で穫れた葡萄をブレンドしたりあるいはレベルの低い畑で穫れた葡萄だったりするから//土などの環境　つまりテロワールの特徴があまり出ないワインにどうしてもなってしまうの
are often either a blend of grapes from fields somewhere in the village or perhaps made from grapes from a lower level field.// So the characteristics of the soil or environment, in other words the terroir, simply just don’t come out so much.

この「村名ワイン」の葡萄が穫れた畑はそもそも特級畑｢エシェゾー｣の区画なんじゃが//葡萄の木を植え代えてまだ年月が経っていないということを理由に’01年まで格下の｢村なワイン｣を敢えて名乗らせ出荷しとったんじゃよ
The field where the grapes in this village wine are from was originally the grand cru section for Echezeaux.// But they planted new grape trees and since the trees were still young, until the year ’01 they took it upon themselves to ship the wine from there as a standard village wine.

でも何で若い葡萄の樹だとだめなんだ?
