苺畑に佇む後姿の謎めいた乙女―
The mysterious maiden standing with her back turned in the strawberry field―

どこか懐かしいような//甘い果実の芳香に誘われて近づこうとする……
A kind of nostalgia from somewhere.// You’re invited by the aroma of the sweet fruit and try to get close……

ジャイエ後継者候補の一人エマニュエル・ルジェの｢ヴォーヌ・ロマネ・レ・ボーモン｣は//ここまでは本当にアンリ・ジャイエの｢クロ・パラントゥ｣の印象によく似ていた　でもあれは―
Emmanuel Rouget, one of the candidates for Jayer’s succession. Up until this point// his Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts really resembles the impression of Henri Jayer’s Clos Parantoux. But―

期待して差し出した手からすり抜けるように口に含んだワインの余韻が儚く消えていくんだ
just like how she slips though your hands when you hold them out in hope, the finish of the wine in your mouth fleets away.

た　確かにそうかも……//ルジェのワインは並のブルゴーニュとはけた違いのパワーがあってすごくおいしかったけど//なんだか一口飲むたびに少しずつ物足りない気がしたような……
Miyabi- I-It certainly might’ve been like that……// Miyabi- Rouget’s wine had much more power than the average wines from Burgundy and was really good, but,/ how can I say, it was like every time I took a sip, I slowly felt like something was missing……

でも―//アンリ・ジャイエは違った
Shizuku- But―// Henri Jayer’s was different.

飲み込んだ瞬間ドキッとするぐらい印象が変わるんだ//まるで後姿の乙女が振り返ったように
The moment I swallowed it, my impression surprisingly changed.// As if the maiden turned around.

しかもその余韻を抱きしめると乙女はさまざまな表情を見せる//初恋のような甘い微笑み―
And when I embraced that finish, the maiden showed me several expressions.// A sweet smile like that when first in love―

初めての口付けのようなはにかみ//そして最後にめくるめくような官能が永遠かと思うほどに続く―
a bashfulness like that after your first kiss,// and then at last a dazzling sensation that feels as if it will last forever―

Miyabi- I see.// So that’s why you thought a woman sent that wine.

男同士で飲むには//あまりにもロマンティックなワインなんだよね
Shizuku- It’s too romantic of a wine// to drink between guys, right?

ただ15年前の三島社長は高価で珍しいワインをわざわざフランスから送らせてきた―ってことを誤解して//身分の差を思い知らされたような気持ちになった
But 15 years ago President Mishima misunderstood― When Anne went to the trouble to bring over that expensive, rare wine from France// he felt he was being told how different they were.

でもそれは逆なんだ//アンヌさんのそのときの気持ちは―
But it was just the opposite.// The feeling Anne had at that time was―

「ずっと一緒にいたい」
“I want to be with you forever.”

そうな　どんな事情だかはわからないけどこれを探すのは大変だったでしょう//私が送ったものほどではないにせよ　値段も決して安くはないし
Anne- It is. I don’t know the circumstances but it must’ve been tough to find this.// Though it’s not as good as the one I sent, the price couldn’t have been cheap.

いやあそれがラッキーなことにある人からただで……//!//!
Shizuku- No, actually we were pretty lucky and got it free from this one guy……// !// !

Miyabi- Shh! Idiot!!// Shizuku- Oops// SFX- Whock// Anne- Hehe, so I was right.

Shizuku- Yeah. I was handed it by someone without being told anything, except that……// if you really understand wine, there’s no reason you wouldn’t be satisfied with this bottle.

俺も自分が納得しないで出すわけにはいかなかったからデキャンタージュするときに一口飲んだんです―//そうしたら不思議なんですけど”99％”アンリ・ジャイエの｢クロ・パラントゥ｣だと感じました
There was no way I would serve a wine I wasn’t satisfied with so I had a sip of it when I decanted it―// And when I did, it was strange but, it felt like about 99% of Henri Jayer’s Clos Parantoux.

一口飲んだだけでこのワインの本質を見抜くなんて……
Written- Seeing through the true nature of this wine with just one sip……

しかも残り”1％”の違いまで//この青年はいったい……//お二人を騙すつもりはなかったんです//ただこの場にあのワインがないということがどうしても許せない気がしたんだ

本当なのか!?//ルジェはアンリ・ジャイエの甥で彼からワイン造りを学んだ後継者といわれているがジャイエのワインとは明らかに別物だ
Is that true!?// Rouget is Henri Jayer’s nephew. He’s said to be his successor and learned wine making from him, but his wine is completely different from Jayer’s.

少なくとも私は「ブルゴーニュの神様」にルジェは及ばないと思う
I wouldn’t think of Rouget as making a ‘God’s wine’ even in the least.

Shizuku- I wouldn’t either.// When I drank Rouget’s ’97 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts, I didn’t think it could replace that ‘God’s wine’.

‘99年のエマニュエル・ルジェのワインの中で//少なくとも｢クロ・パラントゥ｣についてはアンリ・ジャイエが造っているのではないか―という噂です
Of the ’99 wines made by Emmanuel Rouget,// Henri Jayer was thought to have at least been making the Clos Parantoux.

Shizuku- T-That can really happen?// Written- I mean, with beer that would be like Asahi making Sapporo beer, right?

ひとりの造り手が葡萄栽培から収穫醸造までをすべて管理しています
Anne- One maker oversees the entire process from the grape cultivation to brewing the harvest.

エマニュエル・ルジェもそういう造り手の一人ですが//’99年頃ひどく体調を崩してワイン造りを行える状態ではなかったようです
Emmanuel Rouget is a maker like that but// around the year ’99, his health really took a turn for the worse, and he was not in any kind of shape to be making wine.

そこで叔父のアンリ・ジャイエが80歳を超える高齢にも拘らず//元気に畑にたってワイン造りをルジェの代わりに行ったのではと言われています
And despite his uncle Henri Jayer being over 80 at the time,// it’s said he was standing in full health in the fields and continuing the wine making in place of Rouget.

正直私もその噂には半信半疑でした//あんぐり//でも今夜改めてこのワインを飲んで少なくとも私は確信を持ちました
Truthfully, I was half in doubt about the rumors.// SFX- Mouth wide open// But after drinking this wine again tonight, I’m completely convinced.

割れたボトルの底に残っていた正真正銘のアンリ・ジャイエの｢クロ・パラントゥ｣よりなんか若々しい魅力がある……っていうか//”雲の上のワイン”って感じではない親しみ易しさがあって
It’s got the appeal of being kind of youthful compared to the genuine Clos Paratoux that was left in the bottom of that broken bottle……or maybe// it doesn’t feel like a ‘wine above the clouds’, it feels close and kind.

そうだな……//私が15年前にアンヌに飲ませてもらった｢クロ・パラントゥ｣もこのワインのようにフレッシュな魅力にあふれていた
Soichiro- That’s it……// The Clos Parantoux I drank with Anne 15 years ago was overflowing with that fresh appeal like this wine.

“神様”なんてあがめられる前のジャイエのワインはこんな風だったような気がする
Before Jayer was raised to an idol, his wine was probably more like this.

アンヌさんの言う噂が本当ならきっと神様はこの”悪戯”を子供みたいに楽しんでたんじゃないのかな//神様になる前の自分に戻ってさ
Shizuku- If the rumor Anne was talking about is true, I’m sure he was enjoying this trick just like a little kid.// He could go back to before he was an idol.

雫さんが99％同じって言ってたけど//もしかしてその違いの1％ってそういうことなのかもね
Shizuku, you said that 99% of this wine is the same but// perhaps the left over 1% might be just that.
