I noticed that this doll disappeared from the storehouse yesterday,
今日一日　付近を捜索していたのだが　神社から出ていなかったんだな
so all day today I searched the neighborhood but I guess it never left the shrine.

じーさんの話だと
According to grandpa's story
持ち主に捨てられてからここに来るまで長いこと野晒しにされていたそうだ
It came here after its owner threw it away and has been weather-beaten for a long time.
それでおもったより早く妖怪化してしまったのかもな
Because of that it ended up becoming a youkai pretty quickly.

A shrine is a spiritual barrier where the coming and going of youkai is intense.
それをこの「逢魔が刻」に人間とうろつくなんて愚かだと言っているのだ！
It's foolish to loiter around here with a human during the "time of disaster".
