Most of these stories stand alone, but there are a couple with continuity. The subject matter surrounds sex, but the real focus is how the characters deal with the tangle of their lives, rather than on the sex act itself. The sex scenes are drawn in a very matter of fact way that is blunt, sexy, but does not drift into obscene.
These stories sometimes are on the dark side, so don't go looking for much romance, but Shimura shows us how you still can find tenderness and love regardless.
Highly recommended if you like mature stories and can deal with a wide range of sexual themes from straight sex to abuse to incest to homosexuality. Plus there's a ghost story thrown in for good measure. Rated around a hard R. Permalink " "
