New Manga Shout Out: 11/8/10 - 11/14/10

Welcome to the next New Manga Shout Out. With the no-raws/scans rule on MH, you have to work a bit to find these mangas. This week features a girl demon named Satan, a battle between assassins, and a one-shot by the mangaka who made Kochi Kame. Remember, if you like any of the series, favorite them. Hajime lives with the twin sisters of the family of the Komatsu shrine. Inori is of a very spiritual bent and often tries to use her 'powerful' heirloom rosary to protect her friends and family from evil. The other sister, Kanau, is more practical. She often spends time trying to keep Hajime from groping women, which he is always doing by accident.

Amidst strange vampire-like murders in the community, Hajime has had a dream of a hot female demon called Satan that is lusting after his blood. Soon enough, she appears in his waking life, along with her alter ego Lucifer. After an embarrassing situation at school, Hajime and the shrine twins end up taking Satan/Lucifer into their home. Why are these demons attracted to Hajime, and what do they really want?

It is the near future and the age of criminal organizations fighting for territory with their own crew has ended as they figured that it was neither economical nor practical. The new method of territory warfare is done with each criminal organization hiring an assassin and betting their land on which assassin survives the modern day coliseum.

Bando Eiji aka Gun Mania is a top rated assassin for the Kuroyanagi group. A young man named Kusano Nonomura of the now overthrown Kusano organization seems to have a vengeance against Bando, the Kuroyanagi family and the entire criminal world. Blood will be shed very soon.

Takamoto Chikahito is a high school student on a trip to Kyoto, Japan. He is overwhelmed by the historical structures and shrines around him. While crossing a bridge he slips into an alternate world where he encounters 3 strangers and aberrations. A girl named Hana appears and saves his life. These abnormal people take Takamoto in to question him. They are curious to know how he was also to slip through the barrier and want to erase some of his memories. Takamoto is immune to the spell and Hana helps his escape back to the world he knows.

This is what tethysdust said this week:
My favorite of this week's is Imuri, a science fiction adventure tale. The beginning of the story sort of reminded me of Dune, and the artwork is really interesting (kind of a line art style). Also, Akuma no Ikenie is the one to pick if you want your reading to include a lot of scantily clad/naked girls.
Here's a note from vyc:
Asashine - very adult/violent manga series featuring top assassins fighting each other. I love it so far and cant wait to see more chapters. Zettai Harem & Happy Girl - lots of full blown sex scenes. Again a warning, it's mature content. Gotta say, pretty hot though....
My opinion:
Akuma no Ikenie sounds like a mix between Princess Lucia, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi and Rosario to Vampire. If you're looking for a new ecchi supernatural series, this series would be perfect for you. I'd be interested in reading Asashine - a battle between assassins sounds interesting AND it's from the mangaka who wrote Hellsing and Drifters. Gate 7 looks gorgeous as CLAMP series do. Kyoushashou looks good as well, but who'd think that a train otaku would want to do something extreme? :o The last series I'd want to check out is Pariya-san wa Otoshigoro since it's from the mangaka who brought us Emma and it looks like it has the characters from her latest series, Otoyome Gatari, a series I highly recommend reading.
