If those little guys are scattered about, the “Bees” working in Edo will come to a complete stop.
However even if you spread those around you won’t be able to use the machines now.

Gengai: What you’ll need there is a large quantity of explosives.
The explosions will repeatedly spread the nanomachines…
And slowly but surely the territories where machines become useable will grow.
Eventually the bees will be completely purged from Edo.
It’ll take some time, but that’s the only way to get this done.
Yato: Hurry and prepare the gunpowder.
I see, even if Edoites cannot use machines, they can certainly make use of explosives.
You certainly are being quite cooperative resolving to assist us like this.

Gengai: If my choices are “Earth’s annihilation” and “Stopping the bees” I think I prefer the latter.
