Raishin: No! Why must you youkai target Ushio-dono!?


妖怪： ほーそうか、おまえら鎌鼬兄妹は確か四００歳くらいで
年若かったな。。。
でも「白面の者」の話くらいはしっておろう。。。
Youkai: Ah, yes. You Kamaitachi Siblings are young, only 400 years old.
But you know the story of Hakumen no Mono.


かがり： にいさんやあたしがこの世に生まれる前に中国からきた妖怪ね。。。
日本の妖を皆殺しにしようとしたとか。。。
Kagari: It’s a youkai that came from China before Niisan and I were born and
it tried to kill all the youkai of Japan.


妖怪： おまえら、本当にしらんのかよ。。。
Youkai: You two really don’t know!?


妖怪： オレたち　日本の妖たちは、壮絶な戦いの末、
「白面の者」－異国からきた大妖怪を退けた。
が、しかし。。。
Youkai: After a heroic battle, we youkai of Japan beat back the daiyoukai
from a foreign land, Hakumen no Mono.
However…


白面： われは戻ってくるぞ！力を蓄え、おまえらを
殺すために！！
Hakumen: I shall return! I will gather my strength to kill you all!


妖怪： 妖怪たちはヤツを追った！
Youkai: We pursued it!

妖怪： ヤツが長い年月、眠り、力をもって復活してくる前に、
殺すために！！
Youkai: For months and years we pursued in order to kill it
before it slept and gained enough strength to resurrect itself.


妖怪： だがー！！
Youkai: However!

妖怪： 結界だ！
Youkai: There was a barrier!

妖怪： ヤツのまわりには、強力な結界が張られていたのだ！
Youkai: A powerful barrier had been formed around it!


妖怪： 妖が越えることのできぬ、絶対の境界線！！
Youkai: It was an absolute boundary line that no youkai could pass through!


妖怪： そしてその結界を張っていたのはー
Youkai: And the one who created the barrier was-


妖怪： 一人の。。。 女だった！
Youkai: A single… Woman!


妖怪： オレたちは憎んだ。。。恨んだ。。。
Youkai: We hated them and cursed the…

妖怪： いつか復活してオレたちを殺しにくるヤツを、
そうまでして護ってる人間を！！
Youkai: The one who would sometime resurrect itself and come to kill us
And the human who protected it!

妖怪： その結界の女に手がだせなけりゃ、その血筋の者を
根だやしにすることでしか、オレたちは不満をはらせないのだ。。。
Youkai: Since we can not get the woman of the barrier out,
we can only satisfy ourselves with the eradication of her entire bloodline.

Raishin: Then you mean Ushio-dono is of her line?


妖怪： わかったか、それなら早くオレたちと潮を追え！
ヤツは「獣の槍」をもってるんだ。
Youkai: So you understand. So, hurry and pursue Ushio with us!
He has the Beast Spear.


妖怪： さあ、いくぞ！
Youkai: So, let’s go!

妖怪： 何をするっ！？　雷信、かがりっ！！
Youkai: Raishin, Kagari! What are you doing!?


鎌鼬： 気持ちはわかる。。。
Kamaitachi: We understand your feelings.


鎌鼬： だが、潮殿は潮殿だ。
その事実しったからとして。。。
Kamaitachi: But, Ushio-dono is Ushio-dono.
Knowing this fact,


雷信： 犬ころのように心を変えるわれわれではないわっ！！
We’re not ones to change our minds obediently like dogs!


妖怪： この裏切りものめえっ！
Youkai: Accursed traitors!

Kagari: Even we loath humans!

雷信： でも、潮殿は別なんだっ。
Raishin: But Ushio-dono is different!

妖怪： てめえらあああ！殺してやるうう！！
Youkai: Bastards! We’ll kill you!!

Kagari: Gah!


妖怪： 若僧がなめやがってぇ、殺してやるわいい！
Youkai: You underestimated me, youngster, and now I’ll kill you!

Youkai: I’ll kill you too, Raishin!


かがり： フフッ、おまえの方こそ、鎌鼬をなめないでね。
Kagari: Fu fuh… You’re the one who underestimated the Kamaitachi.


妖怪： げえっ　腕がっ！
Youkai: Geeh! My arm!


妖怪： くそっくるなっ。
Youkai: Shit! Don’t come near me!


妖怪： おまえらぁぁぁ！
Youkai: You bastards!

Raishin: Are you all right, Kagari?

かがり： ええ、これくらい。。。
Kagari: Yes, so far…


妖怪： こ。。。後悔するな。。。よ。
Youkai: D-do you not regret this…


妖怪： こんなコトをして。。。ただですむもの。。。か。。。
Youkai: Is it common…for you to do…such things?


雷信： 潮殿に救われたわれら、後悔などするものか。
Raishin: Is this something we, who were rescued by Ushio-dono, would regret?


かがり： 兄さん！　潮サマは。。。。
Kagari: Niisan! Ushio-sama-

雷信: 追うぞっ
Raishin: Let’s go find him.

一鬼： あの時はスゴかったなあ、長飛丸よ。
Hitotsuki: You were amazing back then, Nagatobimaru.

とら： わしをその名で呼ぶな、一鬼。
Tora: Don’t call me that, Hitotsuki.


一鬼： 唐国から渡ってきた「白面の者」とオレやおぬし。。。
日本妖怪が死にもの狂いで戦ったっけ。。。
Hitotsuki: You and I, all the youkai of Japan, desperately battling against
Hakumen no Mono who crossed over from the country of T’ang…


とら： ああ。。。
Tora: Yeah…


とら： ヤツがわしらに負けて逃げてから、
おまえらはヤツをずっと探してたな。
Tora: After it was defeated and escaped,
you all were searching for it for a long time.


一鬼： おぬしは戦いが終わると興味をなくして、
さっさとどこぞへいってしまったがな。。。
Hitotsuki: You lost interest once the battle was over
and shot off somewhere…

とら： わしはあのいまいましいはりつけの目にあってたんだよ。
Tora: I was suffering through the annoyance of crucifixion.


一鬼： そしてわれらはヤツをついにみつけだした。
Hitotsuki: We found it at last.


一鬼： おぬしがいない間、われらは何度もヤツの眠る地を攻撃したが、
一指もふれることができなかった。
Hitotsuki: While you were gone, we attacked the place where it slept many times,
but we couldn’t lay a finger on it.


一鬼： あの女のために！
Hitotsuki: Because of that woman!


とら： だいたい話はわかったけどよ。。。
うしおはその女の何なんだ？
ムスコじゃねえよな。。。人間は千年も生きねーよ。
Tora: I understand what you’re saying but
what does Ushio have to do with that woman?
He’s not her son. Humans don’t live for a thousand years.

一鬼： 女は。。。初代の役目の女よ。
Hitotsuki: That woman…was the first Yakume*.

*One who holds the role

とら： なんだよ、わからんぞ。
Tora: So? I don’t get it.


一鬼： ま、いい。。。とにかく潮を殺さなけりゃ
われらはおさまさんのだ。
Hitotsuki: Well, whatever… In any case,
if we are not allowed to kill Ushio,
we will not be calmed.

Tora: He’s my fo-

一鬼： とかいっておいておまえはあいつを食おうとしないではないか。
Hitotsuki: So you say yet you haven’t even tried to eat him.

とら： ぐ。
Tora: Gu.

一鬼： なあ、本当にどうしたというのだ、長飛丸よ。
Hitotsuki: So, what’s it really matter to you, Nagatobimaru?

一鬼： あんなに強く、人間にはいくらでも残酷になれた、
おぬしがまたく。。。
Hitotsuki: You, who are so strong and so familiar with so much cruelty toward humans…

とら： けっ　うるせーや！
Tora: Keh! Be quiet!


とら： なら、勝手にあいつを殺しゃいいだろ！
Tora: Go ahead and kill him if you want!


一鬼： はははははは！　よくぞいってくれた。。。
さすが長飛丸だ、そうさせてもらうぞ。
Hitotsuki: Ha ha ha ha ha! How skillfully put.
How like Nagatobimaru. Don’t mind if I do.


一鬼： 昔のなじみだ。無理に手伝えとはいわないぞ、
じっとしていろ。首尾は教えよう。。。
Hitotsuki: Just like old times. No offer to help.
Just stay right here, I’ll let you know how it goes…


とら： おい、一鬼。。。
Tora: Oi, Hitotsuki…

それと。。。
Tora: Don’t call me Nagatobimaru. I hate the name.
And also…


とら： 「獣の槍」は強―ぞ。
Tora: The Beast Spear is very powerful.


一鬼： 覚えとくさ。。。長飛丸！
Hitotsuki: I’ll remember that…Nagatobimaru.

こんなの。。。こんな闘いはキモチ悪いぞ。
Ushio: Dammit, stop this!
I don’t want to fight like this!

潮： わけもわからんで命のやりとりするなんてよ。
Ushio: I don’t want to take lives when I don’t understand why.


潮： とにかく。。。村に入ればこいつらだって。。。
Ushio: So…maybe if I get to a village, they won’t-


声： ひいい、助けてくれぇ！！
Voice: Hi-i-i, help me!

Old man: Hi-i-i!


潮： どっかのじいちゃん！
Ushio: It’s some old man!


潮： ばっきゃろぉ、襲うのはオレだけにしろぉ！
Ushio: You jackasses, I’m the only one you’re supposed to be fighting!


潮： じーちゃん、走れっ！！
Ushio: Jiichan, run!


おじいさん： こっ腰がぬけたんだよ。
Old man: I threw out my back.


潮： しゃーねーなっ！！
Ushio: Of course you did!

Old man: A…ah, what’s going on, Niichan*!?

*Used here as “young man”


潮： 妖怪だよっ、逃げるが勝ちだ。村はどっちさ！？
Ushio: They’re youkai. We win if we get away. Which way is your village?


おじいさん： あ。。。あっちだ。
Old man: T-that way.

潮： よーし！
Ushio: Okay!
