Tora: What’s all this? This bakemono and girl just look like more trouble~


日輪： 「白面の者」が放った婢妖か。。。「獣の槍」にひかれたな。。。
Hinowa: The Hiyou, sent by Hakumen no Mono… They were drawn here by the Beast Spear…

潮： な。。。なんだ？
Ushio: W-what?


日輪： 。。。蒼月潮か？
Hinowa: You’re Aotsuki Ushio?


潮： そ。。。そうだけど。
Ushio: Um…yeah.


日輪： こんな。。。こんな子供が「獣の槍」を。。。
Hinowa: This…this child has the Beast Spear…

「獣の槍」がこんな子供と一緒だったなんて。。。
Hinowa: I find the Beast Spear that we…I mean,
the Housou of the Kouhamei Sect have been desperately searching for…with this child…


潮： なんだよ　ねーちゃん！　さっきからヒトをジロジロみて
子供、子供ってえ！
Ushio: Neechan, what’s with all this staring at me and calling me a child!


潮： いってえ。。。
Ushio: Ow…


日輪： 君が持ってるその槍がどれだけ重要な槍か、しってるの？
Hinowa: Do you know how important that spear you’re carrying is?

潮： え？
Ushio: Huh?


日輪： 光覇明宗の代々の僧が、いかにその槍を大切にし護ってきたか、
その槍を持つために私たち「獣の槍」伝承候補者が、
どれ修行してきたかしってる？
Hinowa: Do you know how many generations of the priests of the Kouhamei Sect
have protected that spear so that we, the Beast Spear Chosen Candidates,
could have it? Or how much we’ve trained for it?

日輪： 私たちが必死になってるあいだ、
君はどろぼうみたいにその槍をさらっていって、
あっちこっちで遊び半分に妖怪をころしてたんでしょう。
Hinowa: We grew desperate when you ran off with the spear
like a thief in the night and ran hither and yon slaying youkai half in fun.


日輪： なにもしらないようだから教えてあげる。。。
「獣の槍」が世にでた時に、それを操る者を代々、
光覇明宗は育てていたわ。。。
現在その者たちは４人。。。
Hinowa: Because you seem to know nothing, I will educate you…
The Kouhamei Sect has raised people for generations to use the Beast Spear
when it returned to the world…
Presently, there are four of them…

日輪： その者たちを「獣の槍」伝承候補者といい、私はその一人。。。
Hinowa: I am one of the Beast Spear Chosen Candidates…

わしにゃカンケーねえしよ。
Tora: Aaaaaw, this is ceaselessly useless and trivial.
It has nothing to do with me.


日輪： その槍を渡しなさい。。。
Hinowa: Hand over the spear…


潮： な。。。なんで。。。？
Ushio: Wh-what are you talking about?

日輪： 私は君が旅にでた足どりを追ってみた。。。
Hinowa: I’ve been walking the path of your journey…


日輪： 君は色々な所で様々なバケモノと闘ってきた。
Hinowa: You’ve fought varied youkai in various places.

日輪： そのバイタリティは認めるわ。。。でも。。。
Hinowa: I have to admit to your certain vitality…however…


日輪： 全てはその槍のおかげで闘えたにすぎないわ！
Hinowa: You were only able to fight them all thanks to the Spear!


日輪： もしも君が、私のように修行を積み槍の声をきけ、
もっと体験を極めていれば、数々の惨状は避けられたハズだわ！
Hinowa: If you had studied as much as I have, had listened to the voice of the Spear,
had more experience, you would have avoided a number of those terrible events!


日輪： 旅客機を襲った「衾」の時、もしも君が槍の忠告をきけたら、
ああなる前に操縦士に警告できたわ！
Hinowa: If you had heeded the Spear’s warning
when you battled Fusuma on the passenger plane,
you could have warned the pilot before any of it happened!

日輪： かまいたちの時は、君が彼の行動に気づいて槍をひくのが早ければ
彼は死ぬことはなかったでしょう。
Hinowa: With the Kamaitachi, if you have recognized his behavior,
you could have pulled the Spear away faster and he wouldn’t have died.


日輪： 青森の猿の変化の時は、君の不注意から母子を危険にさらし、
Hinowa: You put that mother and daughter in danger with your lack of caution
in the case of the transformed monkey in Aomori.

日輪： 増上慢＊からの油断は、洞爺湖での敗北につながった。。。
Hinowa: Your blithe* ill-preparedness was connected with your defeat at Touyako…

＊まだ悟ってもいないのに悟っったような顔をしていばること。
*”blithe” 増上慢 means brazenly pretending to understand when you don’t.

日輪： そして君の一番のまちがいは。。。
Hinowa: But your greatest mistake…


日輪： 槍が射抜きとめていた凶悪な妖怪を、君が倒そうとしないことよ！
Hinowa: Was that you freed the terrible youkai that was pinned by the Spear!


日輪： 今はいないみたいだけど。。。なぜよ？なぜ君は妖怪と暮らすのよ？
Hinowa: It doesn’t seem to be here now but…why? Why would you live alongside a youkai?


潮： そ。。。それは。。。
Ushio: It’s…it’s not…


日輪： よって、私は君を槍の伝承者とは認めない。。。
Hinowa: Therefore, I do not recognize you as the Chosen of the Spear…

一般の人が死んだりするわ！
あのヤクザみたいに！
Hinowa: Let go. If you go on using this spear so badly, regular people are going to die!

Hinowa: At least…at last I have the legendary spear in my hands…


日輪： さぞ、ニクイでしょうね。。。いいのよ殴っても。。。
Hinowa: I’m sure you hate me… You can hit me if you like…


潮： 女が殴れるかい。。。
Ushio: I don’t hit girls…


日輪： あら、いいのよ。どうせ君は私に触れもしない。
Hinowa: Oh? But it’s all right. You won’t lay a finger on me.

日輪： 体術を学んだ私と君のちがいを、
Hinowa: I have studied classic martial arts and you have not.


日輪： わからせてあげるわっ！
Hinowa: Let me teach you the difference!


潮： わっ、待てよっ！　オレは女となんて。。。
Ushio: Wah, wait! I can’t fight a girl!


潮： げえ。
Ushio: Geeh!

Hinowa: This is from me and the other priests

日輪： 私たちと僧たちのうらみよ！
For taking the Spear!


日輪： 思いしったか。
Hinowa: Do you understand now?


日輪： 来たわね。「白面の者」が探索に使わす下位妖怪。。。
婢妖！「獣の槍」に向かってくるんだわ。
Hinowa: They’re here. The low-level youkai Hakumen no Mono sent out to explore…
The Hiyou! They’re coming for the Beast Spear.

日輪： 今度は私よ。。。私がこの槍と共にあるんだ。
Hinowa: This is my time. I have the Spear.

Ushio: ~SIGH~


とら： うしおーっ。てめ、しゃきっとしろよ、しゃきっとよ！
おめえがテイコーしなけりゃ、わしゃはりあいはねーだろがよっ！
Tora: Ushio! Snap out of it, dammit! Wake up!
It’s not worth eating you if you don’t put up a fight!

日輪： でもムダよ。。。いくら強力になっても。。。
Hinowa: But it’s useless. No matter how strong you become…


日輪： 私には「獣の槍」があるのだから。
Hinowa: Because I have the Beast Spear.

Dakusuiki (Muddy Water Monster)

その昔、水に住んでいた水霊 が、殺された人の血によって変化したもの。
体は半透明で、触ると溶解液がでてくる。環境汚染の影響で強大化。
Long ago, blood from a murdered human transformed a water spirit living it the water.
Its body is translucent and a chemical solvent comes out if you touch it.
It’s made stronger by environmental pollution.

体が全て泥できている。土・水・泥さえあれば、いくらねも大きな体を作ることができる。
頭部の水分を全てなくせば、ただの土くれとなる。人を襲い水分を奪う。
Its body his made completely of mud. It can make itself bigger with only water, earth, and more mud.
If the water that makes up its head is gone, it becomes normal mud.
It attacks people and steals their moisture.

とら： にらみあう不定型妖怪の２匹。泥は濁水鬼の水分を奪う攻撃に出たが、
浴解夜を吸収してしまった。ああ、浴けてしまうう！濁水鬼の勝利だ！
Tora: The two insubstantial youkai stare each other down.
Dei starts the attack by stealing moisture from Dakusuiki,
but absorbs the chemical solvent. Aah, he melts away! Dakusuiki is the winner!

Ribbon Youkai is a youkai with human nails.

His origins are unknown, but he was killed once and returned to life. He has four arm scythes
are faster and sharper than the Kamaitachis’. Beware the iron whip on the base of its tail!

潮： あっ！原因はわからないが、一度殺されたザンダーゴングが、
生き返ったらしい！尾の先の鉄のむちが、恐ろしいぞ！！
リボン妖怪が、人爪で応戦だ！！戦歴を重ねたさすがのサンダーも、
リボン妖怪の気持ち悪さに、鉄のむちのついた尾をまるめて、退散だ～。
Ushio: Ah! No one knows Zantar Gong’s origins but he died and came back to life!
Then there’s his dreadful iron whip tail! Ribbon Youkai counterattacks with human nails!
Even with his extensive military experience, Ribbon Youkai’s serious creepiness
curls Zantar’s iron whip tail and he runs away!
