*The Story So Far*

オレたちは、伝承候補者の一人・秋葉流のバイクに便乗し、目的地・
旭川へ向かて出発。
We were hitchhiking on the bike of Akiba Nagare, one of the Chosen Candidates,
heading for our goal, Asahikawa.

しかし、またもや大事件。
But there was another incident.

伝承候補者１位の実力をもつ・杜綱悟が、卑妖に頭を乗っとられ、
式神を操りオレたちを攻撃。
The top ranked Chosen Candidate, Moritsuna Satoru, with Hiyou riding in his head,
attacked us with a shikigami he manipulated.

そこで、遠野の長に相談し、兄思いの妹・純のためにも、森綱の体内へ
入り、卑妖を滅ぼすことを決意。でも、槍のパワーを使いすぎ、人間に
戻れなくなるかもしれぬ危険な賭けだ。
So I discussed it with the Toono Osa and decided to go into Moritsuna’s body and destroy the
Hiyou for the sake of Moritsuna’s younger sister, Jun, who cares deeply for her brother.
But if I use too much of the Spear’s power, I’m making a dangerous gamble
that I won’t be able to become human again.

そして、“バケモンになる前に喰ってやる”というとらと、人体の
案内役イズナに導かれ、体内へ侵入。
So I invaded his body along with Tora, who says he’s going to eat me before
I turn into a bakemono, led by Izuna, an expert guide in the insides of the human body.

だが、卑妖と戦うオレの体に、とつじょ異変か。。。！？
But something strange is suddenly happening to my body as I fight the Hiyou!

とら： わしは確かにいった！獣になる前にうしお！おまえを喰らってやるとな。
それが今か！！
Tora: I said before Ushio became a beast, I was going to eat him! Is it time?!

Izuna: Yo. What are you going to do, Nagatobimaru?


イズナ： おめえさん、あの人間が獣になる前に喰っちまうっていってたんだろ？
Izuna: Didn’t you say you were going to eat that human before he turned into a beast?


潮： な。。。何やってる！？
Ushio: W…what are you doing?


潮： 行くぜ。
Ushio: Let’s go.

とら： ちっ！なんだよ～　せっかく喰えると思ったのによ～。
まだじゃしゃーねえな！
Tora: Ch! Damn~ I thought I was finally going to get to eat him~
Not just yet.


イズナ： くっくっくっく。
Izuna: Kuh kuh kuh kuh.

とら： やっ、やい！　イズナ何がおかしいんだよ！？
Tora: Hey, hey! What’s so funny, Izuna!

イズナ： 今、おまえ、ほっとしたろ？
Izuna: Are you relieved?


とら： な！
Tora: Wh-!

とら： 何を～！？　そんなコトねえぞっ。こらイズナっ。
Tora: What~!? Absolutely not! Hey, Izuna!

イズナ： ははははーっ。
Izuna: Ha ha ha hah!

婢妖： 獣の槍を持つ蒼月潮と長飛丸らは、腕を通り抜けー
Hiyou: Aotsuki Ushio, wielder of the Beast Spear, and Nagatobimaru are coming up the arm…

婢妖： 心臓の疫鬼を破り、現在脊髄を悩に向かって通過中！
Hiyou: They destroyed Ekiki in the heart and are now in transit through
the spinal cord to the brain!


血袴： 蒼月潮か。。。会ってもみたいがここまでは来られまい！
脊髄に体内の全婢妖が終結しておるのだからな。。。
Chibakama: Aotsuki Ushio, huh? I’d like to meet him but he won’t get this far!
All the Hiyou in this body can end it in the spinal cord…

Hiyou: Destroy the Beast Spear!


流： またけいれんだ！　押さえろっ。　杜綱の体が傷つくぞっ。
Nagare: He’s convulsing again! Hold him down. His body’s taking a beating.


純： 兄ちゃん、しっかりして！
Jun: Oniichan, hold on!


純： 婢妖なんかに負けないでっ！！
Jun: Don’t give in to the Hiyou!

イズナ： 今、オレ達が走ってる脊髄は、脳からでてる神経の束で、
体の各部を脳に結ぶ中枢連絡路よ。
Izuna: The spinal cord we’re running along now is a sheaf of nerves
coming out of the brain. It’s the central communication line from the brain
to the rest of the body.

イズナ： 自律反射の中枢だから、内臓や血管のコントロールもするんだぜ。
Izuna: Because it’s the center of autonomic reflexes, it controls the internal organs
and blood vessels.


イズナ： だから、オレらイズナは人間の体に入る時ゃ、まずここを
押さえるのよ。
Izuna: So when we Izuna enter a human body, this is the first place we take over.

イズナ： だから注意しろよ！おそらく敵もうじゃうじゃいるハズだぜ。
Izuna: So be careful! There’s a good chance there’ll be swarms of enemies here.

潮： なんか、むずかしいコト知ってんなあ。
Ushio: You sure know a lot of difficult stuff.


とら： へっ、人間かぶれしたコトバばっかり使いやがって、
鬼に入らねーや。
Tora: Heh, I’ve got no interest in using a bunch of words stinking of humans.

イズナ： うるさいなー、オレらは昔から人間の中にいたらして人間語にゃ
慣れてるんだよ！
Izuna: Shut up! We’ve been living inside humans since long ago and
we’ve gotten used to human speech!

イズナ： 文字どーり血肉にとけてるっちゅーか
Izuna: We’re literally fused to their flesh and blood

潮： 来たっ！
Ushio: They’re coming!

Hiyou: Kill them!

婢妖： 獣の槍を破壊しろォ！
Hiyou: Destroy the Beast Spear!


潮： 獣の槍よォ、オレもうハラ決めたぜ！
Ushio: Beast Spear! I’ve already decided for good!

潮： オレの体が変わったっていい！
Ushio: You can change my body!


潮： 力を貸せ！！
Ushio: Lend me your strength!

流： くっ。
Nagare: Kuh.


純： 兄ちゃん。。。
Jun: Niichan…


流： 杜綱っ！
Nagare: Moritsuna!


流： うお？
Nagare: Uo?

流： くっ。。。動けない。。。まだ内部の婢妖が。。。
Nagare: Kuh…Can’t move…the Hiyou inside are still…


婢妖： ぎぎ。。。おまえらはそこで待っていろ。
Hiyou: Gih gih… You all wait right there.


婢妖： われらが体内で、蒼月潮をくびり殺すのをなお！！
Hiyou: We will strangle Aotsuki Ushio to death in this body!

とら： めんどくせっ数が多すぎらあっ。
Tora: This is crap. There are too many of them.

イズナ： オレ達が小っちゃくなってるからなっ。
Izuna: It’s because we’re small now.


とら： ちっ、うしおっ！
Tora: Ch, Ushio!

イズナ： うへ！
Izuna: Uhe!

Jun: He…told me…


潮： 兄ちゃんを押さえてくれって。。。
Jun: Hold on to your brother…


婢妖： はなせえっ。
Hiyou: LET GO!


純： げっ。
Jun: Keh.


純： あたし。。。あいつにひどいコトいっぱいいった。。。
Jun: I…said a lot of terrible things to him…

純： それなのに。。。それなのにあいつはただ、
だまってお兄ちゃんの体の中に。。。
死ぬかもしれないのに。。。
Jun: And even so…He went into my brother’s body without a word…
Even though he could die…

Jun: I’m sorry!


婢妖： 何だこれは！？
Hiyou: What’s this!?

潮： オレが。。。
Ushio: Because I will…


潮： 全部追い出してやるからさ！！
Ushio: Drive them all out!

Izuna: … your arm…


イズナ： なんでた？なんでおまえはそんなに戦うんだ？命が惜しくねえのか？
こわくねーのかよ？
Izuna: Why? Why are you fighting like this? Is your life not precious to you?
Aren’t you scared?


潮： 今まで、獣の槍のおかげで戦ってきた俺のよ。。。
清算日が来たらしいのよ。。。
Ushio: Up till now, I’ve been able to fight thanks to the Beast Spear…
The day has come for me to settle up my tab…

潮： オレが。。。本当はどうなのか、ためしてみてえのさ。。。
Ushio: I…the truth is I’m somehow already like one…
イズナ： どうって？
Izuna: How?


潮： ここで、命惜しさでおりちゃ。。。マジに獣みてえじゃねえか！
Ushio: I have no regrets from my life…just like any real beast!

今回は、設定、名前ともインパクトがある妖怪を選んでみた。
さあ、くらわんかいっ！！
We’re breaking into the 3rd round of Youkai on the Warpath.
This time around I’m choosing youkai whose name and look have real impact.
Well, let’s eat!

腕醜女
Udeshikome (Homely Arm Woman)

真夜中過ぎに出現する。壁なとにぶつかりうるさい音を立て、オンチな
歌をよくうたう。怪力の持ち主。
It comes out in the dead of the night. It makes a lot of noise by bumping on the walls
and singing terribly. It has superhuman strength.

山の中に現われ、頭を回転させて人を驚かす。山をきれいにするいい妖怪。
It appears in the mountains, spinning its head around and surprising humans. It’s a good
youkai that cleans the mountains.

とら： 月のきれいな、とても静かな夜でした。突然、沈黙を破り腕醜女
が現われました。その歌声に草木は枯れ、人々は眠れません。
しかし、はずみで山に入ったのが運のツキ。そうじ小僧にそいじ
されてしまいました。
Tora: It was a very quiet, beautifully moon-lit night. Suddenly, the silence was
broken as Udeshikome appeared. The plants withered at her singing voice and
people couldn’t sleep. However, bounding into the woods was the end of
the line for her. She got cleaned up by Souji Kozou.
