遠野の妖怪、鎌鼬、雷信とかがりに、潮がふるまってもらった
鍋もの。地元の新鮮な材料が生きている。ちなみに、お気づきの
ことだろうが、潮に好き嫌いはない！！

and Kagari. Made with fresh local ingredients. Incidentally, you’ll notice that Ushio isn’t picky!

山で妖怪から助けた老人に、買ってもらったクリームパン。あいかわらず、
下品な食べ方をするな、この主人公は。。。！！
ビニール袋に印刷されている宣伝文は「おおうまいクリ－ムパン、
イギリス人もびっくり」！！
There’s the Cream Pan that the old man Ushio saved from youkai in the mountains bought him.
As usual, our protagonist is on the junk food again!
The blurb printed on the vinyl wrapper states “A Cream Pan so delicious enough to surprise
an Englishman”!

うしおが道連れになった、大学生コンビと、青森近くのドライブイン
で食べたラーメン。どんなにコクとコツがあり、なるととタマゴが
入っていても、こいつらのような食べ方をしたら、うまそうに見えない！！
There’s the drive-in ramen Ushio had with the college duo near Aomori when he
became a hitchhiker. Whatever broth it has and despite the fact that it has egg and
naruto* in it, from the way they’re eating it, it doesn’t look tasty!

函館は外人墓地でのバターじゃがいも、しおから、ミルクの３点セット。
これが一番おいしそうなのに、またまた潮はとらに先をこされ、
食べそこねてしまう。不幸な中学２年もいたものである！！
The butter potato, salt fish, and milk set from the Foreigner Graveyard in Hakodate.
This looked the best but once again, Tora snatched it and Ushio missed out.
Is there any more unfortunate 2nd year middle-schooler!

妖怪と戦うハメになるうしおの食生活は、食を味わうよゆうなどなく、
はっきりいって、かなりまずしい！！
There are people who state that “the joy of a journey is the food”.
But the eating habits of Ushio, who is constantly having to fight youkai,
are pretty poor since he can’t ever savor any meal!
