天帝の命により大鐘をつくれと命ぜられた鐘造りの名工が、
その術の奥義をつくして鋳造にあたったが、

A greatly skilled bell craftsman was ordered by a Lord to create a great bell
but he had run out of technique secrets to forge them.


師： あるものは欠け落ち、
あるものはひび割れ、
うまくいったかと思えば音悪く、十打たぬうちに砕けた。
Ushio: The ones he made fell apart
or they cracked apart
and when he thought it went well, the sound was terrible
and it broke before it was rung 10 times.


ギリョウ： 決心したその鐘師は。。。
何をしたと思う。。。？
Giryou: What do you think...
that determined bell-maker did?


師： 人身御供さ。。。
その男は神の力によって大鐘をつくるために、
己が娘を神の供物として炉の中に捧げたのさ。
Master: A human sacrifice…
To create a great bell with the power of a god,
he offered up his daughter to the gods and
put her into the forge.

師： そうして、乙女の体を内に秘めてでき上がった
鐘は傷ひとすなくー
Master: And so, with the young girl’s body inside it, the finished bell
had not a single flaw-


師： 光を受けて七色に輝き万里に澄んだ音色を響かせたいう。
Master: It shone with rainbow-colored light and its tone could be
heard for thousands of miles.


潮： そ。。。そんな。。。
Ushio: I…I can’t believe…


ギリョウ： だから。。。師匠はその話のあとにいった。
鬼畜の業だ、造剣の匠は魔物にまでなってはいけないと。。。
Giryou: That ‘s why… the master said this after his tale.
