ジエメイ： さしもの大妖怪も、一一六０年、日本における妖怪と人間の
共同戦線に破れたのです。
Jie Mei: In the year 1160, the united front of the youkai and humans of Japan
defeated the great daiyoukai.

とら： へん、ざまーみろい！
Tora: Heh, got what was coming to it!


ジエメイ： しかし。。。
本当の危機はあれの逃げゆく先にあったのです。
Jie Mei: However…
This was before the true danger of its escape.


潮： な。。。何だよ、ジエメイさん、
本当の危機って。。。？
Ushio: W…what is it, Jie Mei-san?

霊能力を授かってこの日本に転生した、ゆきは、
陰陽師・安倍奉近様に、後のことを頼むと、
Jie Mei: I-
Yuki, the spiritually powerful girl I was reincarnated as in Japan,

ジエメイ： 白面の後を追ったのです。

潮： どうなったんだ？
Ushio: What happened?

ジエメイ： 時順、その時、その場所へ！
Jie Mei: Tokijun, take us to the time and place!


時順： ははーっ！
Tokijun: Yes ma’am!

Ushio: It escaped into the ocean!

とら： ふーん、わしはここまで追っかけてこなかったからなあ。。。
Tora: Fuhn, I didn’t follow it this far…

ジエメイ： そして私はある心配を胸に追いました。。。
Jie Mei: I followed, with worry in my breast…


ゆき： 待て、白面！！
Yuki: Stop, Hakumen!!


ゆき： おまえがいかに逃げようとも、いつかは必ず倒される！
Yuki: No matter how far you run, someday you will be defeated!

ゆき： 日本中の妖怪もおまえを追っているのだ。
いつかきっと！
Yuki: All the youkai of Japan and I have followed you!
It will happen!


ジエメイ： しかし白面の逃げた先は。。。
私の予感が告げる、最悪の場所だったのです。

Jie Mei: But before Hakumen’s escape…
I had a premonition of this most terrible occurrence.

この白面の者を倒すという、力をもつ人の女よ！
Hakumen: Fu fu fu…really! Strike me, will you?
You say you will defeat me, Hakumen no Mono,
powerful human woman?


白面： よろしい、だが女、心して倒すがよいぞ。
Hakumen: That is fine. But, woman, defeat me at your own risk.


白面： 我が力を取り戻す間しばらく眠るこの場所がいかなる所かをだ！！
Hakumen: As I take this place to rest a bit while I regain my strength!

Yuki: W…what do you mean?

ジエメイ： 私はこの時、絶望とともに、悟りました。
Jie Mei: Then, I understood, with utter despair.


白面： ひとつの小さき穴が堤を壊し、洪水をひき起こす。
Hakumen: Break even one dike to these small holes and you will cause a flood.

ジエメイ： やはり白面は、ここに逃げこむつもりだったことを。。。
Jie Mei: Hakumen had always intended to flee here…


白面： ここは、この島国の大地を支える柱の「要」よ！！
Hakumen: This is the main support holding up the bulk of this island nation!

Hakumen: Now I have thrust my body into this pillar…

白面： 我が再びここを飛び去ることを考えよ、
Hakumen: Think about when I fly from this place!

白面： その時、この島を支える柱は全て崩れだしー
Hakumen: At that time, this pillar supporting the island, will crumble-


白面： この日本なる国は、大海に没するであろう！！
Hakumen: And this land that has become Japan with sink down into the ocean!

Hakumen: So, will you nevertheless try to rouse Hakumen?


ジエメイ： 運命はー私の予感通りに動き始めた。
白面をここから動かしてはならない。。。！
そのために私と私の子孫がこれを見張らぬば。。。
Jie Mei: Fate- began to take the course of my premonition.
Hakumen could not be moved from this place!
For this reason, I and my descendants had to stand watch…


白面： くくく、どうする？おまえの仲間が来たぞ、

白面： さあ！
Hakumen: Well?


白面： 女！
Hakumen: Woman!

白面： どうする！？
Hakumen: What will you do?

Youkai: UWAAAH!

妖怪： 女ァ～　裏切ったかあ～！！
Youkai: The woman has betrayed us!!

ジエメイ： その時から結界は、張り続けられぬばならなかった。
白面を倒す決め手、獣の槍が見つかるまで。。。
Jie Mei: From that time on, the barrier was kept up.
Until we could find the Beast Spear, the key to defeating Hakumen…


ジエメイ： 私はともかく。。。子孫のためにこんな重い結界を張りたくは
なかったのです。
Jie Mei: In any case, I did not want to make this great barrier for my descendants’ sake


ジエメイ： 白面を妖怪から護るためではなく、起こさぬための結界など。。。

潮： オレの母ちゃんって。。。

Jie Mei: Thank you, Tokijun. To the next time.


時順： へえい！
Tokijun: All right!


ジエメイ： 連綿と続く時の中で、私は白面の者を封じ続けました。。。
Jie Mei: Over time unbroken, I continued to seal Hakumen no Mono…


ジエメイ： 最期の戦いに入る前に、私の生まれかわりのゆきには、
子供がおり、
Jie Mei: Before we entered the final battle, Yuki, whom I was reincarnated as,
had a child.

ジエメイ： 子供は大人になりまた子を産み、長い年月の中
私の子孫は増え続けました。
Jie Mei: The child grew to an adult and brought forth another child,
and over time, my descendants continued to increase.

四００年間老いもせず白面を封じ続け、力の限界がきた時、
私は霊体を飛ばして後継者を選んだのです。
Jie Mei: And so, I continued to seal Hakumen for 400 years, never growing old,
and when I reached the limits of my strength, my astral body flew out to
choose a successor.


ジエメイ： 二代目は私の子孫のなかの貧しい村娘―日崎御角。
Jie Mei: Nidaime* was one of my descendants, a poor village girl- Hizaki Mikado.

ジエメイ： 己の悲運を嘆きもせず、御角は白面の者を封じる任にあたりました。
Jie Mei: Without grieving her own sad fate, Mikado undertook the duty of
sealing Hakumen no Mono.


ジエメイ： その任―「お役目」についている間、その者は一歳たりとも
年をとりません。
そして、その任を後継者に譲ると、ゆっくり年をとってゆくのです。
Jie Mei: The one who undertakes that duty, the duty of “Oyakume”, will not age even
a single year and even when the duty is passed on to the successor, her aging is
still slowed.


ジエメイ： こうして、御角に任を引き継いだゆきは、それからしばらくして亡くなり、
Jie Mei: And in this way, Yuki passed the duty on to Mikado and died a short while after

ジエメイ： 再び私はこの姿になりました。
Jie Mei: And I became as you see me now once again.


ジエメイ： それより三００年、御角にも力の限界の時がやってきました。
Jie Mei: After 300 years, the time Mikado reached the limits of her strength was coming.


ジエメイ： 再び、また私は後継者を探し出し、
Jie Mei: Again, I went out to search for a successor


ジエメイ： 次の「お役目」となる子孫の前に立ったのです。

潮： オレの。。。母ちゃん。。。
Ushio: My…mother…


とら： でも、何でだ？こいつが生まれて１４年。。。
もっとずっと前から、
母親がそうやってるとなると。。。オヤジとの間に
こいつなんてできねーじゃねえか？
Tora: But how? That was long before he was born 14 years ago…
If his mother was doing that…she couldn’t have been with his old man, right?


ジエメイ： 潮の生まれる二年前。。。
結界を張り続けてきた須磨子が、小さいな声でいったのです！
Jie Mei: Two years before Ushio was born…
Sumako, still holding the barrier, spoke to me in a small voice.

須磨子： 初代。。。夢を見ました。
Sumako: Shodai*…I had a dream.

須磨子： いいのです。。。初代、私のこの身を嘆こうなどとは思いません。
全ては運命なればー私はその安らぎの中でこうした大役をも
果てせるのですから。
Sumako: It’s all right…Shodai, I am not lamenting my position.
If it is fated, I will die carrying out this important duty, peacefully, like this.


須磨子： 。。。ただ、
Sumako: …only

須磨子： その夢の中で私は身籠り、子を生むのですが。。。
Sumako: In the dream, I was pregnant and had a child…


須磨子： その子供が成長してー

須磨子： 初代のおっしゃる「槍」をふるっておりましたよ。

殿方を知らず、ましてや赤子すら抱いたことのない

ジエメイ： 確信した。。。
Jie Mei: Was certain…

Jie Mei: The Spear has yet to reveal Hakumen’s origins…

ジエメイ： ならば。。。それを操る人を用意しよう。
Jie Mei: So…I prepared for the one who would wield it.


ジエメイ： 槍を正しい心で使い、白面の者を滅ぼせる人を誕生させたなら、
Jie Mei: I made certain of the birth of the one who could use the Spear
with a true heart and destroy Hakumen no Mono.


ジエメイ： その人が槍を呼ぶだろう。
Jie Mei: This person would call the Spear.


ジエメイ： 須磨子、たわむれにたずねましょ。。。
その子に名づけるとしあなら何と。。。
Jie Mei: Sumako, let me ask only in jest…
What did you name that child…

須磨子： はい。。。
Sumako: Well…

須磨子： 私が今、座するこの場所。。。そして何ものにも
負けぬ力を持つという意味より。。。
Sumako: It is something from where I sit here… that has the strength never
to be defeated…

Tora: We’re back…in that cave?


ジエメイ： そして私は須磨子と外界に送り出した。非情ともいえる
二年の短い時だけ与えて。。。
Jie Mei: I sent Sumako out into the world. You may call it callous
but I gave her only short two years…


潮： それで生まれたのか。。。
Ushio: And the child who was born…


ジエメイ： そうです。あなたです。
Jie Mei: Exactly. It was you.

潮： たった。。。二年で。。。父ちゃんと。。。母ちゃんは。。。
Ushio: My mother…was only…with my father…for two year…


時逆： 蒼月ィー九か月後におまえに通達が行く。。。
Tokiesaka: Aotsuki- a directive will come to you in nine months…

時順： その時がおそらく最期の戦いの開始だ。
Tokijun: At that time, it’s most likely the final battle will begin.


時逆： それまでは、せいぜい今の暮らしを頼しんでおくんだなあ。。。

とら： よォ、おめえもう後へはひけねえぜ、どーする？
Tora: Yo. You can’t retreat from this. What are you going to do?


潮： そうだ　もう後にはひけない。。。だけど、オレは
あんなでけえヤツと。。。
Ushio: He’s right. I can’t run away… but how can I fight that huge creature…

潮： 一緒に戦いたいっていってたもんな。。。
Ushio: You said you wanted to fight together…

潮： この世界に来たいっていってさもんな。。。
Ushio: You said you wanted to return to this world…


潮： ギリョウさん、

Ushio: Well,

潮： 帰ってから考えるか。
Ushio: I was thinking we’d go home.

潮： 一緒に行こ！
