Chapter 50
171
Guy: Good evening, I'm from Iwahara Water Services.
Customer: Oh, you got here so quickly.
Customer: It's over here...
Customer: It wasn't coming out well and now the water has turned red.
Guy: Ah, you're right. Some rust must be getting in it...
Guy: Let's just wait a bit and let it all get out...
Guy: Hm?
Guy: ...What the hell?
Guy: It's getting...
Guy: darker.

Title: File 50 The Location of the Trump Card
173
Fujimaru: Here it is! I've found...
Fujimaru: the "Shikimura File", Minami-san!
Minami: And the decryption?
Minami: Can you do it?
Fujimaru: Easily.
Fujimaru: Okay, I've found a randomized algorithm.
Fujimaru: With this...
Fujimaru: Okay, decryption complete.
Fujimaru: And here it is! He left a note!
Fujimaru: As I thought, it's the development code for the antivirus!
Text: Development Code....OBS-4011
Minami: All right. Now we can save those two.
Minami: Where is it?
174
Fujimaru: Give me a second.
Fujimaru: I'm looking up the location of the pharmaceutical company...
Fujimaru: No...
Minami: What?
Fujimaru: The pharmaceutical company in charge of developing the antivirus is located in Hokkaido!
Fujimaru: Since it was the development of a drug to counteract a dangerous virus and, if the information was leaked, they would be targeted by terrorists...
Fujimaru: He must not have wanted it to happen in a populated area.
Fujimaru: We only have around 30 minutes.
Fujimaru: There's nothing we can do!
Minami: You're joking!
Minami: Even a jet from the JSDF wouldn't make it from Hokkaido in time...
175
Fujimaru: Think, Fujimaru.
Fujimaru: Who do you think your father is? Takagi Ryuunosuke, right?
Fujimaru: No matter how hopeless a situation he's in, my father never gives up!
Fujimaru: Always...
Fujimaru: No matter what...!!
Fujimaru: There has to be something.
Fujimaru: If I don't give up, there's sure to be something...
Minami: In the best case scenario, "Bloody-X" will hit in an hour and a half. Worst case, half an hour...
Minami: All we can do is get the JSDF to cooperate and keep trying to the very end.
176
Fujimaru: ...Please do, Minami-san
Fujimaru: I'll look for a possibility through other means.
Minami: Other means?
Fujimaru: Yes.
Fujimaru: I feel like I've seen this development code before.
Fujimaru: Hackers don't usually use a GUI like Windows while using a computer.
Fujimaru: They use anything from the basic script language to a higher programming language like Fortran or COBOL to control their terminal and hack into and gain control of the network.
Fujimaru: Thanks to this, I deal with a countless amount of numbers and codes every day.
177
Fujimaru: But occasionally...
Fujimaru: I run across a sequence of numbers or array of codes that makes me wonder what it is.
Fujimaru: And they tend to stick in my mind.
177
Minami: I don't really understand, but are you saying that you've seen something similar to the antivirus's development code somewhere!?
Fujimaru: Yes, I'm sure I've seen it somewhere before.
Fujimaru: And it was sometime recently.
Minami: Then quite explaining this to me, and try to remember when!
Minami: How many people do you think have died from that virus!!
Fujimaru: I know!
Fujimaru: Just let me think!
178
Fujimaru: ...It was at "Third-i".
Minami: Eh?
Fujimaru: It was when Orihara Maya had me hack into "Third-i"!
Fujimaru: I'm sure I saw it for an instant when I was monitoring the packets going in and out of the router looking for a security hole!
Minami: No way!!
Minami: Are you saying the antivirus is in "Third-i"!?
Fujimaru: It's possible!
179
Minami: Then why didn't...
Minami: anyone say anything about it!
Fujimaru: Because no one knew.
Fujimaru: My dad told Professor Shikimura that there might be a spy in "Third-i"...
Fujimaru: so he knew, if he was honest about the antivirus to everyone in "Third-i", the spy would know.
Fujimaru: So he said it was a completely different drug and had the pharmaceutical company in charge of developing it supply him with it...
Minami: ...I don't believe it.
Minami: Did you hear all this, Kirishima!
Kirishima: We got the development code in the email and tried to get in contact with the pharmaceutical company...
Kirishima: but it's no good.
Kirishima: It's Saturday. Even if we went there directly, no one would be there.
Sawakita: I searched for the development code in "Third-i"'s medicine supply records...
SFX: Beep
Sawakita: but I found nothing.
Sawakita: The search had 0 results.
180
Fujimaru: No way!!
Fujimaru: By my guess, it should have arrived in the past 2 or 3 days! The data should still be there.
Sawakita: You might be remembering wrong.
Sawakita: Or you might have happened to see a similar code somewhere online...
Fujimaru: There's one more possibility, Sawakita-san.
Sawakita: Eh?
Kirishima: Someone...
Kirishima: erased the data?
Kirishima: Could there be a spy besides Houshou?
Sawakita: I-it couldn't be!
181
Minami: Hey.
Minami: You shouldn't start being suspicious of everyone...
Fujimaru: I don't want to believe it either...
Fujimaru: but, right now, I can't say it isn't possible.
Kirishima: Then...
Kirishima: what do you want to do, "Falcon"?
Fujimaru: It's lucky we're headed your way.
Fujimaru: We'll arrive within 10 minutes.
Fujimaru: Give me direct access to the underground main server.
Fujimaru: I will definitely find...
Fujimaru: the antivirus!
182
Hazmat: Disinfection of the 2nd section complete!
Hazmat: HQ! Open the barrier.
HQ: Roger.
Hazmat: Okay.
Hazmat: We're finally at the storage room.
Hazmat: We'll be in direct contact with the genocide virus.
Hazmat: Use extreme caution!
Others: Roger!!
183
J: The wiretap left in "Third-i" for us to keep track...
J: of what's going on has been most useful.
Michael: It sure has.
J: We need to thank Houshou-san for leaving it for us.
J: ...But, Michael-kun, you've achieved something great yourself.
[TN: I originally thought that the code names I translated as "Mikhail" and "Jakob" were supposed to sound (non-American) foreign, hence why I translated them that way. But I've realized that the code names are names from the Bible, so I'll be translating them as "Michael" and "Jacob" from now on.]
J: Hacking into "Third-i"...
J: and completely erasing all supply data for anything that could be the antivirus...
J: is amazing.
Michael: I watched how Falcon hacked in.
Michael: If you know the security hole and the process...
Michael: anyone can do it.
Michael: At any rate...now "Third-i" shouldn't be able to find it right away.
J: Hee hee.
J: Did you hear that, "K"?
J: The antivirus was delivered disguised as something completely different.
184
J: We've deleted the supply data.
J: It won't be easy for them to find it without knowing where it is or what it is.
J: Can you do something while they're in confusion over this?
K: Understood.
K: I'll send in the unit closest to the Hokkaido pharmaceutical company in charge of the development.
J: I leave it to you.
Text left of J: There.
SFX: Beep
J: Well...
J: now.
J: How are...
J: things going on that side of things?
185
Aoi: Ryuunosuke-sensei...
Otoya: Are you okay, Ryuunosuke-san?
Ryuunosuke: ...Yes.
Ryuunosuke: The anesthesia is still affecting me is all.
Ryuunosuke: My stitched-up wound isn't going to open up that easily.
Otoya: Ryuunosuke-san.
Otoya: Can you tell me why you snuck out of the hospital?
Ryuunosuke: A policeman told me that a terrorist had infiltrated the police.
Ryuunosuke: He said he'd come to tell me that "Third-i" was instructing me to flee...
Otoya: A policeman...
Otoya: It's true that we can't trust the police.
Otoya: I saw Fujimaru hand the "Christmas Massacre" file over to the police with my own eyes.
Otoya: And a full day after that...
Otoya: "Third-i" had received no word of it from the police.
Ryuunosuke: What?
Ryuunosuke: What policeman did he give the video file to?
186
Otoya: It was a group of two...one was on older policeman called Funaki.
Otoya: He was killed soon after and was the one that you were said to have killed.
Policeman: Good evening,
Policeman: Takagi Fujimaru-kun.
Otoya: The other was younger and named Iba.
Ryuunosuke: I...
Ryuunosuke: ba...
Writing on badge: Assistant Inspector
Iba Masahiro
187
Ryuunosuke: That's the man who let me run!!
Otoya: This is a trap.
188
Driver: As planned...
Driver: Takagi Ryuunosuke, Kujou Otoya, and Asada Aoi have...
Driver: gotten on the bus and are in transit.
189
