Text: I started my first weekly series in about 6 years and my body weight suddenly shot up 10 kg. WHA~~~T?!
It feels horrifying to be writing that down. All that in half a year!? 10 kg in just six months?! What kind of crazy phenomenon is this!? That ain't right!!
I may be drawing a gourmet manga, but this is not normal...!!
...But, I guess that's just what comes with age. So I'm gonna go on a serious diet!
I'm 74kg right now. I'll report in what my weight is next volume.
So then, which is gonna happen first? Me losing 10 kg or Toriko's serialization ending!? My heart's racing...

Top: The Story So Far
Summary: The world is the the Gourmet Age! The chef of the IGO (International Gourmet Organization) directly controlled hotel, Komatsu, has been given the orders from the Director General to capture the 'Galala Crocodile'! The one selected for that mission was Bishokuya Toriko! He is a charismatic Bishokuya who has rendered numerous achievements in order to earn the title of one of the Four Heavenly Kings!!
Komatsu was deeply moved to learn that Toriko's dream was to create his life's Full Course Menu and he decided to accompany him on his hunt. But at their destination, Babaria Island, they discovered a presumably 300 year old giant, ferocious Galala Crocodile!! With Komatsu, frozen with fear, in the corner of his eyes, Toriko cut the Galala Crocodile in half with his bear hands, and they had a hearty meal of fine quality meat...!
The next request was to collect the 'Rainbow Fruit'. But there they found a nest of the mightiest of gorillas, the 'Troll Kongs'. The pack of Troll Kongs attacked them one after another. But Toriko discovered their boss among them whom was overwhelmed by the threat Toriko posed. And so they were successful in collecting the Rainbow Fruit.
Then it was finally time for a taste test! Toriko was enamored by its dreamy taste. Finally one item on his Full Course Menu was decided, the dessert, the 'Rainbow Fruit'!! At the same time, far away in the fortune telling town, 'Gourmet Fortune', the fortuneteller and Bishokuya Coco predicted a visit from Toriko...

T/N: ShueiGourmet is a pun on Shueisha, the publisher of Shonen Jump. Leader Takeshi is a reference to Shimabukuro-sensei's previous manga.
Box: The stocks of enterprises which successfully hired well known 'Bishokuya' to capture the 'Puffer Whale' in particular skyrocketed.
For this sort of information, many false rumors are started in order to manipulate stock prices.
The IGO's Legal Affairs Bureau started moving as well, but this circulating rumors had yet to be confirmed.
But beyond that, the fact that many Bishokuya had actually started heading out to capture it lent credibility to this information.

In recent years, with the growth of the Gourmet industry, gourmet-related enterprises and investors and general day traders have made up the majority of its guests.
Naturally, there are there are many false gourmet fortune tellers predicting gourmet market prices. But in spire of these, the town's fortune-telling is considered highly credible...
