Komatsu: Eh... Yes... I've always wanted to go, but...
I really haven't had time...
Toriko: Wasn't it your first time at "Gourmet Town" that time, too!?
Somebody who calls himself a chef should go at least once.
Komatsu: It... It's even your first time here, isn't it, Toriko-san!?
Toriko: I'm not interested in stuff like visiting shrines. [The side is cut off]
Komatsu: AAH
Toriko: Listen to me.
SFX: DAH
Komatsu: It... It's huge!!
Bottom: "Toriko"

Page 2-3:

Title: Gourmet 145 Gourmet Shrine!!
Sign: Gourmet Shrine
Narration: The "Gourmet Shrine"----
SFX: OOOOOO
Narration: As a place that enshrines the symbol of the "Gourmet Age", "Acacia", it is acknowledged as a piece of "Gourmet World Heritage".
The area of the grounds is actually 80,000 square kilometers. About 9 billion people come from around the world each year to worship and perform Gourmet prayers and food cleansings of the soul. It is truly a monster of a shrine.

Page 4:
Komatsu: HueE~~~ It sure is big. [HueE~~~ is big.]
Toriko: It's quite a nice torii gate.
I heard it's height is abut 200 meters...
Komatsu: But what's most amazing is this crowd! It's like an amusement park here!!
Toriko: It's said that in the Gourmet Age, the act of raising one's Food Luck is closely tied to success in life.
And of course, there are Bishokuya and people that perform food businesses here, too.
They say that even the current political and economic world leaders come here in throws to pray. There's really something food mysticism about this place.
Komatsu: Ah, look at all the street vendors, Toriko-san!
There are famous food stand chains, too!
Toriko: Oookay, let's go eat!!
Komatsu: That was fast!!
SFX: DAN
Guy: Welcome, welcome!!
Have some garlip stir-fried *Bean Sprout Worm!!
Asterisk: *Bean Sprout Worm (Moyashi Mimizu) is the Aichi Prefecture's Penname Ookami Shoujo-san's work!
SFX: BASSHUUUU

Page 5:
Komatsu: Amazing! Natural *Garlip!!
Asterisk: *Garlip is the Chiba Prefecture's 西村誠-san's work.
Toriko: Old man, gimme that whole portion you're stir-frying!
Guy: Come again!
Toriko: Itadakimaaasu!
(On Page): Yuuuum!
Komatsu: Ah, baked Easter Islantatoes!
Mmmmmm! Freshly baked *Easter Islantatoes! What an incredible fragrance, huh!?
Toriko: Oh, they're roasting these Kuriimus, too!? Lady, lemme have 10 of those!!
Asterisk: *Easter Islantatoes (Moaimo) is the Gifu Prefecture's Penname KY-san's, and Kuriimu is Tokyo's 早野大-san's work!
TL Note: Kuriimu is meant to sound like the word "cream" and uses the kanjis for "chestnut" and "dream".
Komatsu: Huuuu. Anyhow, the inside of this holy shrine is unbelievably busy. ["Huuuu." big.]
It honestly looks like a festival.
Toriko: The "Gourmet Shrine" has over 300 events a year, apparently.
Practically every day, there's some kind of festival or something that attracts tourists.
Komatsu: I'll bet that opening up a shop at a place like this with such good omens will probably increase their Food Luck, huh?
Toriko: Uh, wouldn't they need super-strong luck in the first place in order to get a shop here?
Komatsu: Eh?

Page 6:
Toriko: There are as many stars in the sky as there are people who run stands that want to open in the Gourmet Shrine.
And even among those, only a few thousand are chosen a month to be allowed to setup shop inside the grounds.
Komatsu: Eh... So don't they already have really strong luck at the point they're chosen?
Toriko: As such a mystical place, it makes everyone feel really magnanimous and really get their wallets open. Thanks to all the people coming to worship, the shops really prosper.
Apparently money really comes to those who have better luck.
Only...
There are actually lots of people with really discriminating taste...
So of course there are some shops that really miss out on all the luck...
............
Oh.
Sign: Gourtree Fruit
3000 Yen Each
TL Note: Gourtree Fruit = Gourjyu no Mi
Guy: I finally setup shop under beneath "Sacred Trees", yet...
I guess the taste wasn't good enough, huh...?
Toriko: So there's a fruit that grows on the "Gourtree"?
Mister, gimme those fruits! All of 'em!!
Guy: Eh?! Can you pay for all of them!?
Komatsu: Y... You've gotten totally magnanimous now, Toriko-san!!

Page 7:
SFX: SAAAH
Komatsu: T... Th-Th...That's such a huge chouzuya~~!!
TL Note: A chozuya is place for ritual cleansing of hands and mouth with water when visiting shrines, usually Shinto.
Toriko: It's holy spring water called "Holy Water".
Customers that come to worship come here to wash and purify their hands and mouths...
On the pilgrimage journey...
on Acacia's "Full Course Pilgrimage". ["Full Course Pilgrimage" in bold.]
Komatsu: A... Acacia's...
Full Course Pilgrimage!?

Page 8:
Toriko: The Gourmet Shrine is a place to celebrate Bishokushin Acacia.
It contains the "Statue of Acacia", and the way to the "main shrine" celebrates his Full Course. You go to worship each "Food Shrine" in turn starting from the Hors D'oeuvres.
Komatsu: Eh!!
SFX: KOPO KOPO
SFX: GOKU GOKU
Toriko: PUHAA
Yum!
Though it's called celebrating the Full Course,
the actual "things" aren't actually there. Even their names aren't written anywhere!
Komatsu: Eh... What~~~?
I was really hoping I was going to get to see Acacia's Full Course~~
!
SFX: BUUOOH
WUAAAAAAH what's that!! ["WUAAAAAH" is big./squigly.]
Sheep: ME~~~
Toriko: It's a guest-carrying sheep, a "Taxeep"! Let's rent one of them to take us inside!
(In Bubble): I got a reservation for one.

Page 9:
Toriko: They say that this huge site is 800,000 hectares.
It'd take months to cross if you went by foot.
There are hotels and various lodging establishments inside the grounds, so there are some guests that make pilgrimages several months long.
Komatsu: It... It's so fast~~
Toriko: The Taxeep's maximum speed is 150 kilometers per hour.
But it's a safe method of driving, so relax.
SFX: RUDORUN RUDORUN
Komatsu: HIE~~
Toriko: With this guy we'll get through the pilgrimage in no time.
TL Note: These are all parodies of various actual famous Shrines in Japan.
SFX: JYARI

Page 10:
Toriko: The sacred trees of the Gourmet Shrine, the "Gourmet Ceder"--- ["Gourmet Ceder" in bold]
Toriko: Nicknamed the "Gourtrees".
TL Note: Gourmet Ceder = Bishoku Sugi
Toriko: They say that "Frohze", the God of Chefs said to have been in a combo with Acacia,
used to use them as materials to make his "chopping board" and other cooking materials. They're trees with good omens.
Komatsu: Th... They sure are huge trees~~
Toriko: You can find "Gourtrees" growing all over inside the grounds, but these are the largest class of them... The "main shrine" is close, Komatsu.

Page 11:
Komatsu: Uh... um... Toriko-san...
I was kinda wondering during the pilgrimage...
A Full Course usually has 8 items from Hors D'oeuvre to Drink, right...?
But there were only 7 "Food Shrines"...
Toriko: Hm? Were there?
Ah!
Look, there it is, Komatsu!!
The "Main Shrine"!!
Komatsu: Eh?!
SFX: TATAH
Komatsu: WAA
Th... That's...
The Gourmet Shrine's "Main Shrine"!!!
SFX: DOOOOON!

Page 12:
SFX: TATAH
Komatsu: WAH
Wh... What's going on...!?
SFX: WAAAAAA WASHOI WASHOI (heave-ho)
Toriko: A festival, huh...?
Just as you'd expect, it's really busy around the "Main Shrine".
SFX: JYAH
Komatsu: .............
It... It sure is amazing up close...
The entrance of the shrine is bigger than the Torii...
SFX: OOOOOO
Toriko: I'd expect nothing less for the symbol of the Gourmet Age celebrating Acacia.
Komatsu: I... Inside here is Acacia's statue...

Page 13:
Toriko: ------...
Ooh...
Narration: The space inside there------
had a starkly different feel...
Toriko: "Fulfillment"----
Outside of my "stomach", this is the first time I've predicted that feeling...
Narration: Even Toriko who did not believe in the idea of "luck" very much,
That space was teaming
with a certain "something" you couldn't not feel...
That was unmistakably
"Food Luck"----
And the source of it was...

Page 14:
Narration: Adorned in the center of the giant grandiose shrine
was the completely unexaggerated life-size Acacia statue---- "Acacia statue" in bold.
Toriko: This man is...
Komatsu: Acacia...
Narration: Before the god----
the language that gushed out of the two's hearts...
was only two words...

Page 15:
Thank you-----
Pahpoh: My my...
.........
Description: Shrine Manager
-----Gourmet Priest-----
Pahpoh
Hat: Gourmet Priest
Shirt: Food Luck
Komatsu: Hey, Toriko-san...
Toriko: Hm-----?
Komatsu: Do you think we...
increased our "Food Luck"?
Toriko: I wonder...
.............
Wanna test it?
Komatsu: Eh?

Page 16:
Announcer: Now, this year's has finally come, the first "Foodman Selection"!! ["Foodman Selection" in bold]
Who will be the one this year to pull the kitchen knife from the giant chopping board made from the sacred tree the "Gourmet Cedar"!?
Pure strength absolutely will not dislodge it!!
Without reading the grain of the wood and using a perfect level of power, you absolutely will not be able to remove this knife!!
Because the temperature and humidity of the day also affect it, to say the least, you will need "luck"!!
Toriko: This is one of "Gourmet Festivals", annual events held at the Gourmet Shrine...
So what do you think, Komatsu? Wanna give it a shot?
Komatsu: Eeeh, you mean that?!
It's the "Foodman Selection" that decides who has "Food Luck". it's worth trying, don't you think?
Guy: UOOOH
IT WON"T BUDGE!
SFX: FUNGAAAH!!
Komatsu: ............
O...
Okay!
I'll take on the challenge!!
Announcer: Now then, the next challenger has stepped up!!
Huh? Could he be Chef Komatsu?
Komatsu: I've been found out.
SFX: WAAAA

Page 17:
People: It's Chef Komatsu~~!
It's Chef Komatsu, the one who made the Century Soup!
Komatsu: The grains in the wood are even and cleanly aligned.
This hard and good quality chopping board was made from a section close to the center of the tree.
So not vertically...
SFX: GUH
Komatsu: At a bit of a slant...
Like this...
SFX: SURU
Komatsu: AH.
People: Ah.
Announcer: AaAAAAAH He... He got it ooooout!!
This year's "Foodman" has been decided!!
Komatsu: Ah..
Haha....
Looks like I got it out.
SFX: WAAAA
Toriko: WAHHAHHA That's some awesome "Food Luck" ain't it, Komatsu?!
Announcer: Chef Komatsu has won a year's supply food ticket for inside the Shine grounds!
Now, on to the next event, there are some tens of thousands Gourmet Cedars, nicknamed "Gourtrees", growing inside the grounds.
Among their fruit, there is one winning fruit!! ["winning" in italics.]
Toriko: Hm?
Announcer: Let us all search for it!! By the way, the "seeds" inside the winning fruit are gold!!
Toriko: What?
Gold...
Hey, I ate onna those a little whole ago!
Announcer: Eehhh?! It's suddenly been found!!
Again a "Foodman" has been born!! Mu!? Say is that...!!
To... To-To...
SFX: WAAA

Page 18:
Narrator: It's Toriko!!
I don't believe it, it's Bishokuya Toriko!!
Toriko is endowed with powerful "Food Luck"----!!
Pahpoh: Fuffuffu.
To live is to feel hungry...
Happiness starts with being able to eat...
"Food Luck" is the stomach... the heart... the life...
the human life having fulfillment......
There for all of the guests that come to pray cling to Acacia-sama's "Food Luck"...
Trying desperately for it to be shared with them for their own gain...
Komatsu: This is incredible, isn't it, Toriko-san!!?
Announcer: Toriko-san! Across these huge grounds, just which "Gourtree" did it grow from?
Toriko: Yeah... It was from a shop near the shrine entrance...!
Komatsu: Ah! Everyone, please help me use my whole food ticket!
Toriko: That shop was really gooooood. Why don't you all check it out, too?
SFX: WAAAAAA

Page 19:
Pahpoh: It has been a long time, hasn't it...?
Since I've seen ones so freely sharing...
their overflowing "Food Luck" with those around them... ["Food Luck" in white.]
Acacia-sama...
Is that it...?
The reason you seem so unusually happy...
that those two...
may be able to succeed your will...?
Guy: WUAAAH! WHY'S THERE SUDDENLY A LINE?!
Has "Food Luck" come my way?! ["Food Luck" big.]
People: It's this shop!
I've got a good feeling about it!
SFX: ZAWAZAWA
