T/N: Lone Exile is the name of a dance move that looks sorta like. Originally from a dance group called Exile. It's also a technique done by the villain from Toumei Shounen Tantei Akira.

Umino: Hey... Bun-chan.

I do everything I can not to be a nuisance to people...... I end up looking really stiff.

Umino: I had permission to be doing research there, but it really is a hold place with victory and defeat on the line...
This might not be an apt comparison, but it's like if I were drawing something right before the deadline and someone I didn't know came in with a camera. ----I can imagine how that might feel.
So I didn't take many pictures of the actual players, but getting them of the mood in the waiting rooms and casual conversations was a great help.
The scene from chapter 42 where Kiriyama-kun ran in is actually something that people have encountered.
Box: (1) Apparently, in a certain shogi match, a player that was doing a commentary on a big board ran into the waiting room.
(2) He made one move and returned to the main hall.

there was a shogi sensei that would always eat chocolate.

Umino: There was a sensei that would explain documents to me.
And a sensei that would let me take pictures of him in a kimono.
One sensei talked to me about the flow of the players' minds.
Guy: Take a look.
Don't you notice that the 'winner's' voice is softer? He was so nervous that he couldn't get his voice out.
