Umino and Her Happy Friends
Only for use by BWYS
Ok, I really wanted to get this done because I'll be too busy to translate next weekend. But here we are, here's the omake thus concluding volume 6 after a good... 2 months, it looks like. I'm gonna probably go on to V7 in August.

Narration: 'Tda-san Became 2 People'
---One day, my editor Tda-san said
Tda: Umino-san, the truth that I've just...
become editor-in-chief of 'Hana to Yume'!!
Handwritten: Manuscript I'd just handed to him
Paper: Manuscript
Umino: to me.
..................
3-Gatsu no Lion is currently serialized in Young Animal
Just after deadline
apparently been awake for around 48 hours...
Tda: However,
I'm going to continue to be your editor, Umino-san.
You're the only one, though. I got specific permission from the CEO.
Handwritten: So exhausted she's slack-jawed
Tda: The plan is to work as the Hana to Yume editor-in-chief while only going to get the 3-Gatsu no Lion manuscripts...
Um... Yes, well that's it...
Nothing is going to change, so we'll just be continuing like we have!!
Uh, you should probably get some sleep. You don't have anything you need to be doing for the next 24 hours, after all.
I'll... give you a better explanation next week, so I'll just take the manuscript and go......
Narration: ---And so, when I'd figured out what was going on, there were two Tda-sans.
Handwritten: Tda the Hanayume Editor-in-Chief
Tda the Animal Editor-in-Chief
SFX: HAHAHAHA AHAHA HAHAHA

Box: 'Kyoto Data Collecting' and 'Volume 6'
Narr: My story was taking place in Kyoto, so I went there several times to take pictures.
Page 182:
Narr: The most amazing thing was the amount of time I was there was '2 hours!!'
*It was just over 6 hours round trip!!
Handwritten: Umino with her camera ready running through Shijou Street
SFX: BASHA BASHA BASHA
Narr: I suddenly spent a sleepless night on a shinkansen and stuffed my face with those little sandwiches they sold in the train station.
Handwritten: Bread wet with the moisture from the tomatoes
Narr: The only place in Kyoto I stopped at was *ku*rushio*ru. [I spent like half an hour trying to figure out what the censored words are and I've got nothing.]
I didn't even get a chance to get a bento at an iseta*.
Handwritten: Smart Coffee
Inoda Coffee.....
Narr: A lot of stuff started to overflow there from fatigue and having an empty stomach.
So even though I should be too old for something like it, I started wailing inside the JR station.
Handwritten: Please calm down
Where did you want to visit?!
U... UEEEEE
Tears
Big Text: This is the sort of thing going on every day, but I finally got all of my manuscripts for volume 6 in...
But forget about relief,
right after that I got tormented by nightmares all night.
Hnadwritten: No!
I don't like this!
Stooop!
Go away!
SFX: BUN BUN
Umino: Th... There was like a rat... or a bird or something running all over my face...
Narr: I tried to tell Tda-san about it while I was still shivering.
Tda: Sounds bad. That seriously sounds like an evil spirit.
Box: The Next Day
Tda: Because you told me that whole scary story the dream traveled through the phone lines to my house and now I'm having the nightmare!
SFX: BAANNN
Tda: ----But, well, it might have been because I was reading Spirit Warrior.
But I did a Kuji-in mantra in a split second and managed to blow it away.
Handwritten: Triumphant look. [Triumphant white/bold]
Glad I read it.
Rin!
Pyou!
Tou!
Sha!
That sorta thing.
Umino: Spirit Warrior...?
Narr: Then I talked to other Young Animal people about it.
Guy: Huh? Kuji-in? Spirit Warrior? Ain't that that...
Rin-Pyou?
Guy 2: Tou-sha-kai-jin
Uh...
Handwritten: HAHAHA
Mhm. Mhm.

T/N: Spirit Warrior (Also known as Peacock King) is a manga from the 80's. The Kuji-in is a 9-syllable mantra in Japanese Taoism/Buddhism. The full mantra they're talking about, when translated, is "May the presiders over warriors be my vanguard!" or "Fighters descend and arrange yourselves in front of me". It is a prayer to avert difficulties.
Page 183:
Guy: How do you write them in kanji again?
Uh...
臨 (Rin) 兵 (Pyou)
闘 (Tou)
Sha...
...
Hm?
Ah?
Isn't that one 者(Sha)?
Then is 列 (Retsu)...
Or was it 烈 (Retsu)?
[Leave the writing on the paper, since they're talking about the kanji]
SFX: WAA KAKI KAKI (SCRATCH SCRATCH) WAA
Guys: Uh, so...
'Descend'
'Fighters'
Everyone (皆/Min)... is forming a group, so Ah... Then it's the kanji for formation 陣 (Jin)?!
Hold on, I'm looking it up.
Handwritten (Top): *This is a beautiful tea room in a luxurious hotel (During research on a Meijin Championship).
Handwritten (Right): MM... Yeah...
U-Um...
Handwritten (Left): Uhhh....
Guy: Ah, there it is!
Ah, dammit, we had it wrong!
SFX: CHIH SUCHAH
Guy: Ah, I got it!!
It wasn't 仁 (Jin) it was 陣 (Jin)!!
Ah, I see.
So it's lining up in a formation and standing in front.
Handwritten: That's why it's 列在前!!! (Retsu-zai-zen/Arrange in front of me)
Narr: And among all that, Umino won
