is a new source of energy discovered by the Amanto.
It is the torrent of energy that goes around the planet. You could call it the planet's life energy.
Some in this country call it the Ryuumyaku.

In the earth, there are river-like energy flows called Ryuumyaku.
They said that the Terminal that the Amanto built is a transporter device that uses them to operate.

Nobume: That is how traveling the great distance between planets became such an easy task.
As it is how weapons powerful enough to destroy planets could be created.
In other words, those that held the Altana gained great power.
At the end of the many wars that revolved around the Altana
the countries that were fearful of the Altana's dangerous power agreed upon a non-aggression accord regarding the Altana.
They created a coalition to manage each others' Altana gates called 'Holes'.
That was the Altana Preservation Society.
Later
it became known as the Tendoushuu.

Gin: So basically, a group that was meant to manage some resources ended up using their power to become something on par with a country.
Zura: The Holes on each planet can only be used by the ones that put the lids on them.
It's like they control the lifelines to them.
Nobume: And so they, the Tendoushuu, took control of many planets and devoured them
like parasites that feed on planets.
The reason they;'re so attached to the Earth
is in part because a gigantic Altana (Ryuumyaku) that was untouched exists here.
But most likely what they had most interest in
is a certain case which was only seen with Earth's Altana.
Even before the practical use of the Altana was proven, they were observed as things that were called miracles.
The forests that were above the 'holes' became giant forests that deviated highly from the forests around them. And those that bathed in the springs found above the holes were cured of diseases.
In other words, the Altana have some still undiscovered effect that has some effect on the state of living creatures.
And here, that appeared in the form of a certain man.

Nobume: Utsuro.
That is a name that has been passed down since long ago in the Tenshouin Naraku as the name of its founder.
For generations, the leader of the Naraku has inherited that name, the crow mask, and their killing techniques
and they have worked as covert ops for the statesmen of the time.

But the truth is a bit different.
It was discovered during the Tokugawa rein, the era when the Naraku worked for the Tendoushuu.
The 'Utsuro' of that era mysteriously disappeared. And for an extended period of time, the Naraku were without a leader.
Those that betrayed the organization could only redeem themselves with death. And so they searched all over for him.

He was teaching writing to children at a temple school.
They say he had eyes like a completely different person.
After that, Utsuro's disciples enacted a large-scale rebellion, but they were defeated
and Utsuro was executed.
An abnormality

T/N: Utsuro literally means hollow/emptiness/space.
In periods of ongoing suffering, people wish
for the end to come.
But even in a time of happiness, if people learned that they would go on forever, people wish
for the end to come.

But no matter how many times I repeated it, I remained 'Utsuro'.
