Title: Chapter.89
Child of Sangatsu Town
Page 84:
Somebody: 'Let's all go get monja together!'
Kiriyama-kun invited us
before Takahashi-kun left on his trip to Kouchi.
T/N: Monja is a type of pan-fried batter filled with various ingredients.
Someone: So,
uh,
Congrats on graduating, you two.
And
I wanna wish you good luck ad Kouchi Private School, Takahash-kun...
Uhh...
Handwritten: Seems to have gotten even bigger......
Page 85:
Taka: Ah, excuse me,
before you go on...
Kiriyama-san,
congratulations on making it up to B-2!!
Handwritten: That's awesome!!
Hina: Huh?!
Ah...
C-Congratulations, Kiriyama-kun!
Rei: Oh,
Wah! Thank you.
Handwritten (MIddle): Looks like she just got it
Handwritten (Bottom): Cola
SFX: GUIHH GOHH
Taka: Gramps was real happy about it.
He couldn't believe he knew somebody in B-class.
It looks like he can't contain wanting to boast about it.
Handwritten: Yahooo! My sensei made it to B-class!
Kiriyama-kun is a future meijiiin!
Rei: Uwaa... I'm grateful for that.
An, then,
I'm sorry I lost so early in the MHK Cup that was just held...
Handwritten: I know he was looking forward to that...
Taka: Naw, Gramps is already getting hyped for later.
'Next is the Shishi-ou Championshi~~~~p!!'
Someone: Okay everyone, sorry for the wait! Salmon monja and some pollack mochi with cheese.
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
SFX: DONN
Page 86:
Taka: You're totally my grampa's idol, Kiriyama-san.
He's had a tendency to sleep in a lot, but lately he's been poking his head into the local shogi club.
My dad and mom are really happy he's perking up.
He's always talking about how amazing pros are...
I want
to be a pro soon, too.
Hina: 'I want to be a pro'.
Not 'someday',
he said 'soon'...
Taka: Ah,
I'll do it.
Hina: I see.
In Takahashi-kun's mind, being a pro has changed
from being a 'dream'
to a
'goal'.
Rei: Are you sure?
Taka: Yeah, just let me handle it.
Page 87:
Taka: A guy who helped me out a lot in my little league days is working as a supervisor at Takachi Private School now.
----So he invited me.
All the good players and noted names in baseball gather in Tokyo.
There's too big a talent pool for infielders.
...And on top of that, there're dozens of schools.
SFX: JYUUUU... KAH KAH KAN KAH
Taka: I
want to raise my chances of going to Koshien as high as I can.
T/N: Koshien is the stadium where the Japanese high school national baseball championships are held.
So I decided to go to where that supervisor is.
Hina: Takahashi-kun's skillful use of his hands, the clanging of the trowels,
and the that great smell
rising up with a sizzle just like always.
----But soon, this Spring in Sangatsu Town,
Takahashi-kun will be gone.
Page 88:
Rei: Do they have monja over there in Kouchi, too?
SFX: JYUUU JYUUU...
Taka: If they don't, I'll make my own.
I'll just need a hot plate.
SFX: JAN KAN JUWAAA (SIZZLE)
Taka: And I can get all the ingredients at any 'ol supermarket.
Small In Bubble: ...Ah. I might have to bring the sliced squid with me.
They said they're going to have a welcome party for me at the dorms,
so I thought I'd make them something as a way to say hello.
It'd be a way of saying "I'm from Sangatsu Town".
Rei: Ah,
I see...
Page 89:
Black Bars: All of a sudden
I really felt like I was going to cry.
He really was
going to leave soon.
Rei: We are
kids of Sangatsu Town.
Hina: Mhm.
That sounds like a good idea.
Even if they've head of monja, I'll bet they've never eaten it before.
Yeah, I'm sure it'll be great if you make it, Takahashi-kun.
Rei: No matter where we go, that won't change.
Taka: Of course!
Ah, but grampa told me I 'At least had to take some trowels with me'.
Some bamboo ones for using with hotplates.
he said 'There's now way they'll sell those there.'
Rei: Yeah, you've got a point. I don't think they'd sell these little peeler ones there.
They might have big ones though.
Page 90:
Black Bars: It really made me happy
that in the end, Rei-chan had been able to talk with him and invite him.
I'm really glad that we got to eat monjya together.
I really am.
Guys: I was
about to cry a bunch of times
so I held my breath.
When are you going?
Next Saturday.
That's the day of the cherry blossom festival, isn't it?
Yeah.
It's too bad I'm gonna miss it.
Are you going to do another stand, Kawamoto?
Yeah.
This time we're gonna have two flavors of sweet red-bean soup!!
Is that so?
Give it your all!
This time is precious.
Thanks!
----But there was no way
to stop it from passing by.
Page 91:
