*(T/N: okamainaku is one of those expressions that's typical japanese. It's polite to put yourself down, or in this case, decline an offer even though you really mean yes. And as you can see, he's got some tea in the lower panel. So really he means to say "thanks for looking after me", or some other expression of gratitude...but what I wrote there is more literal, plus the following line is hard to make sense of if I don't leave it negative. At least, this is my understanding...please tell me if I'm wrong.)

-K city was overrun by Youma. It was an age of darkness.
-They were causing as much trouble as possible, and the citizens were completely out of ideas.

-At that time, one man stood up to them.
-He was able to tame a Youma and utilize it as his own power. He created the "Demon arts"
-Armed with that great power, he defeated even more fearful youma, one after the other, bringing peace to the capital.
-That's right--this man was the ancestor of the Four Guardian Deities.
