Kinnikuman 228

The New Machineguns have taken over the tag match, befudding the Devil Choujin and throwing aside one of Ashuraman's best moves! But upon doing so, have they set into motion the gears for their defeat!?

Chapter 228: Dream Choujin Tag Arc (20): Marionettes of Destiny!!

60.
Announcer: Terryman and Geronimo’s reversing Tornado Hell Return has blown away the Stray Devil Combo—
Ashura: Uwaa—
Mayumi: They did it—great--!!
Kamehame: Ooh!! Terryman & Geronimo’s Destiny Dolls!!
Ashura: Guhe

61.
Ashura: Ka—kakaka. New Machineguns, whatever you did, you’ve thrown your own destiny into the depths of Hell by your own hands!!

62.
Terry: What does that mean!?
Sunshine: You haven’t realized it yet? Look below your feet!!
Terry: Ge—those are dolls made to look like me and Geronimo…!?
Ashura: Those dolls are now hinting at both of your destinies from here on!!
Terry: Those dolls are hinting our destiny………!?
Terry: …………!!

63.
Ashura: Ka—kakaka, your destinies are so cruel that you can’t even speak!
Meat: What’s wrong with Terryman’s team? And they had finally successfully reversed it properly!!
Suguru: Weird! Suddenly I’ve come to want to go to the bathroom!!
Kamehame: ………!!
Sunshine: Guofuofuo, how’s that? Will you kneel in front of us before your pain occurs!!
Terry: Hmph, just a bit more and we would have been caught in your scheme!

64.
Sunshine: What!?
Terry: Can dolls decide our destiny!!
Terry: Naturally, destiny is a thing that can be cut through by our effort!!
Terry: Uo
Geronimo: I agree with Terry’s opinion too.
Geronimo: Urara—

65.
Ashura: Right! It’s great that you don’t want to believe in your own destiny!! I’m sure you’ll come to regret that!!
Announcer: The New Machineguns have started up again--!!
Kamehame: N—o!! Terryman! What the devils are saying isn’t nonsense or make-believe!! Those dolls are really molding your destiny---!!
Announcer: Terryman is throwing a rain of punches on Ashuraman!!
Terry: The world of fighting is one only of force!

66.
Terry: It doesn’t use make-believe!!
Ashura: Guwa
Announcer: Ashuraman is down!!
Ashura: Kekeke, the door to your destiny has now opened.
Audience: Terry Terry

67.
Kamehame: At…this rate, if this match isn’t stopped………….Terryman’s team will be killed!!
Audience: Terry Terry
Audience: Terry Terry
Audience: Terry Terry
Terry: Geronimo, use a Leg Drop from the top of the rope!!
Geronimo: OK!!
Announcer: Terryman and Geronimo are showing a good connection---!!

68.
Terry: Hey! Geronimo, a Head Lock!
Ashura: I’ll throw you in a Back Drop.
Terry: Hey! Gerocut!!
Geronimo: Uh.
Terry: Frog Kick!!
Announcer: From the instructions of team leader Terryman, Geronimo is actually performing well!!

69.
Audience: Great—New Machineguns. Your team play is a work of art--!! You’ve completely surpassed the old Machineguns----!!
Terry: Do you hear it, Kinnikuman! Those cheers!!
Terry: The combination of me and Geronimo is from our special blood-flowing mountain training so we could be absolute beings!!
Terry: It was good to have a team with you, but I can brag that the New Machineguns is greater!!
Suguru: Ke, not interested!!
Suguru: Hey, Great, I’m taking those potato chips I bought at the shop earlier!!
Suguru: Huh? Great!!
Suguru: Blood!!

70.
Suguru: Well has he gone to the medical office for your injuries?
Kamehame: Well, it’s impossible to get in through the entrance!! So then, the only way is to go to the other side and climb up!!
Geronimo: How’s that, will you give up!
Announcer: In the ring, Geronimo’s Reverse Romero Special is firmly taking down Ashuraman----!!
Ashura: Ka—kakaka, you’re foolish!
Terry: Though you think you have him by your arms, he’ll escape the Romero Special with carelessness!!

71.
Terry: Geronimo, tag!!
Announcer: Sunshine is surging in---!!
Terry: Uo
Terry: Uwa—
Announcer: Sunshine caught Terry in a Romero and jumped--!!
Announcer: Below, Ashuraman has responded with a Romero Special on Geronimo—

72.
Sunshine: Hell Combination!!
Suguru: Th…that technique was the one we saw done to Specialman and Canadianman during the opening ceremony--!!
Sunshine: Guofuofuo, this is the end for both of you!

73.
Sunshine: Take this: Hell Pyramid---!!
Sunshine: What’s that behavior?
Geronimo: Well have you forgotten!! You have a structure where your body is formed with an innumerable amount of parts, and if I pull out the Key Part among them, your body will become loose and you can’t return to normal!!
Geronimo: That Key Part is your sun mark!
Sunshine: Guofuofuo, don’t you know! About your story…
Geronimo: Ge—wh…what!! My right arm is rapidly…

74.
Terry: What’s wrong Geronimo!!
Caption: OTHER SIDE OF TOURNAMENT MOUNTAIN—
Kamehame: If…Terryman’s team does that, the friendship of the Justice Choujin won’t ever go back to normal!!
Sunshine: Guofuofuo
Announcer: The sun mark of the powered-up Sunshine isn’t the key part, but a giant roller----!!

TN: Well at least Sunshine had enough of a brain to remove/move his key point compared to last time. A villain who has the same weakness all the time really just seems like it leads to a cheap victory...sort of in a way you have stuff like Mumm-Ra spending all the first series of Thundercats scared of his own reflection. (only to finally be rid of that when the series returned) As great as Sunshine was in this chapter (and how there's an important key to the whole dynamic of the New Machineguns...which I'll get into next time when it comes into fuller view), the biggest weakness of the fight comes into full view this time around: the Destiny Dolls. First of all, why the heck would all that trouble of having a "Pandora's Box" that can store the Friendship power of the Justice Choujin...not just be that and be a storage case for dolls? Heck, it just feels bizarre that what seemed like a normal "evil box to store friendship" at the start of the arc turns out to be Ashuraman's toy chest, let alone how he could easily mold up all these dolls of the Justice Choujin and have them on hand already from the moment he and Sunshine escape from the whole Akuma Shogun affair. Second: what exactly are the purposes of the dolls anyway? I mean the first we saw them a few chapters ago, they seemed more like indicators of the connection between the Justice Choujin, as demonstrated in the whole "restoration of Friendship power" bit. Prior to then when it was just the box, you could have figured maybe the dolls is where the Friendship power was stored when taken from the heroes. All of a sudden, now they're de-facto voodoo dolls that "predict destiny" upon which Terry scoff (and obviously it comes true) and Kamehame, being the wise man he is, realizes must be taken back. How the heck did these stupid dolls get so valuable anyway? I mean, maybe this is why Kamehame wanted to enter the tournament in the first place but it doesn't really feel like restoring Friendship with...well, taking Ashuraman's toys.
