Dream Choujin Tag Arc (65): The Glorious Trophy!!
-> RTS Page for Kinnikuman 273
With the Apollo Window locked and the Magnet Power finally gone, Suguru and Terry can finally perform their signature move...but will this be enough to finally end the Hell Missionaries!? The Tag tournament conclusion has arrived!
Chapter 273: Dream Choujin Tag Arc (65): The Glorious Trophy!!
184.
Announcer: The Machineguns are in the stance for their treasured trump-card: Muscle Docking---!!
N. King: Alright, Neptuneman, can you separate the Muscle Docking again by repelling your Magnet Power!
Neptune: It’s no use: a repelling Magnet Power is a technique that’s possible by emitting magnetism from our bodies!!
Neptune: However, it became impossible when the Earth energy, which is the source of our Magnet Power, was suspended by Kinnikuman—
N. King: So…so then, the Perfect Choujin, who prided in being invincible until now, has been defeated by these inferior Choujin!!
185.
Suguru: You finally get it too.
Suguru: Nothing is perfect in this world—
Terry: MUSCLE DOCKING----!!
Announcer: The ships of Kinnikuman and Terryman have splendidly done a successful docking---!!
186.
N. King: Guha
Neptune: Geho
Announcer: They’ve done it: at 48 minutes 23 seconds after the start of Round 2, the massive wall that couldn’t crumble when challenged by anyone has been magnificently smashed by the Machineguns----!!
187.
Ashore: They’ve done it—
N. King: Wh…what are you happy about? Th…this match is a 3-round match. We too the first round, so y…you haven’t taken two rounds yet!
188.
Suguru: We…still have one more round…
Terry: I used my body and soul in that Muscle Docking, I don’t have the energy left to fight anymore!!
Announcer: Well, now the gong for the 3rd round has rung, but everyone on both teams is down---!!
Mayumi: The knock-out count has started……as is, whichever team is standing first within the 10 Count will take the match!!
Announcer: So the first to be moving is the Hell Missionaries---!!
Robin: So, the damage they accumulated until now was greater for the Machineguns.
189.
Terry: Ugu…
Terry: Guu
Brocken: Ooh!! The Machineguns are moving too.
Announcer: Well, both teams are moving, but will the one who completely stands first be the Hell Missionaries or the Machineguns---!?
Announcer: Will this make the Missionaries the come-from-behind champions—
Suguru: Here’s…some Burning Inner Strength—
Meat: God, somehow let Prince and Terryman stand first.
190.-191.
Neptune (Kenka): ……….
N. King: ……………
Announcer: The ones who took the Muscle Docking are immediately seeing hell, even at the moment they took the technique. And from that reason, the Hell Missionaries have collapsed---!!
Announcer: And Terryman is collapsing following them---!!
Announcer: Well~~then, continuing from the 2nd round, the 3rd round is a consecutive win for Kinnikuman and Terryman’s team! At this moment, the champion of the Space Choujin Tag Tournament is the Machineguns---!!
192.
Suguru: So…this is the true identity of King, who participated in the death-match with us…… a terribly old man……
Terry: He surrounded his body in a steel suit and seemed to appear he was perfect, but inside he was nothing more than a mummy who rose for vanity and self-interest…
Announcer: Will the champions Kinnikuman & Terryman climb the Victory Steps for their proof of their win.
Announcer: You will pull out the Friendship Trophy stuck at the summit of Tournament Mountain.
Suguru: Ooh!!
193.
Suguru: Ooh—these are the Victory Steps!!
Suguru: Owa
Ashura: Th…that sound is from the sky…something is getting closer, coming here from the sky!
N. King: Guroro…In…Inferior Choujin, you’ve forgotten the reason…
N. King: My…thousand followers scattered through space are co…coming here to rule Earth…
Terry: Bu…but, with you loss, they should have been expelled since we won the match…
N. King: Guroro…my followers became impatient since you spent too much time to defeat us!
194.
Suguru: Th…that’s—
Terry: Ki…King…how do we disperse them!? Is there any way we can prevent their invasion!?
N. King: We…well, pay at…tention as best…as you can……
N. King: Goho
Terry: Wake up—King—we won’t be able to do anything if you die---!!
Suguru: Hold on, Terryman: Neptuneman, no, Kenkaman seems to know something!!
Kenka: Th…there is only one method……………Use…use the Human Rocket…
(TN: The technique, known as “Hitonoroshi”, combines the “hito” of “human” and “noroshi”, which can either be “beacon”, “skyrocket” or “signal flare”)
Terry: Human Rocket!?
195.
Kenka: It is absolutely unforgivable for we Perfect Choujin to lose. If we are defeated in a fight, we have a rigid law that we commit suicide before we’re stuck being stopped by an opponent.
Kenka: For that reason, all Perfect Choujin carry a capsule which we’ve prepared with a powerful explosion. Thus with my turn of events getting worse, I’ll do a suicide attack by swallowing this!!
Kenka: And thus all the Perfect Choujin will know that I have lost…That is the law of Perfect Choujin called the Human Rocket!
Kenka: By becoming a Human Rocket now, it’s the only way the Perfect Choujin coming closer to Earth to know of our defeat.
Suguru: If you do that, won’t you die?
Kenka: I’ve betrayed King with my own hands and the Missionaries were driven to defeat…my crimes are too large……it’s natural to take this punishment!
196.
Suguru: Hold on, Kenkaman: you don’t have a reason to die. If you die, then it’s better for us to cross swords once more with the thousand-member Perfect Choujin Army!!
Terry: I have the same resolve too!!
Kenka: Kinnikuman…Terryman……
Audience: Ooh, look, the Perfect Choujin Army is already getting close---!!
Suguru: If they come, let them come!!
Terry: Wa
197.
Suguru: What are you doing, Kenkaman!!
Kenka: Kinnikuman, you said there was nothing that is called perfect in this world. However, I’ve discovered something.
Suguru: ………!?
Kenka: There’s only one perfect thing in this world…that is the friendship of Justice Choujin!
Suguru: Kenkaman!!
198.
Audience: He did it—the Perfect Choujin Army is going away---!!
199.
Suguru: You were a man, Kenkaman……!!
Robin: Kenkaman, these masks you’ve taken I’ll return to the Choujin you took them from in the Mask-Hunts.
200.
Announcer: Well, from here, Kinnikuman & Terryman, the champions of this Space Choujin Tag Tournament, will pull out the trophy stuck into Tournament Mountain for 140 million years!!
Harabote: Ooh, it’s moved—the trophy prided for challenging any strength without even wriggling has moved with Kinnikuman and Terryman’s friendship---!!

FROM VOLUME 24:
“KINNIKU THRONE CONTEST ARC”
WHO ARE KINNIKUMAN’S NEW ENEMIES!?
(End of Volume 23)
TN: (collapses on the ground, comatose) Is it over...ihuh...is it...huh? Can I finally say that we're out of this nightmare of sappy Friendship speeches, stupid side-effects and ridiculous nonsense? Huh...it is?
OK, maybe it wasn't that traumatizing and the last few chapters have been better executed (aside from some stupid moments), but let's just say I'm glad we're finally through the Dream Choujin Tag arc! And let's just say...that while I'm happy to have brought it to you, I sort of wished it wasn't me. Being the one to personally write out all the dialogue for this arc for the scanlsators at Team Kinniku that will be read or has been read by all of you, I was forced to write every one of those sappy speeches and ridiculous plot turns first-hand...and I can't help it if it made me a bit cynical as I did so. After being so impressed by so much of Kinnikuman from the beginning to the Gold Mask arc, I expected the tag arc to have similar success, even up to the standard of some of the craziness of the tag tourney in the America arc. And for the most part, the early part of the arc did so...sure the Friendship nonsense started getting tacky when no one crucial was put up against one another or when Wolfman and Brocken Jr. were annihilated by the first wave of Perfect Choujin, but it was still fun and driven by the fights as opposed to the plot. I think it was probably Choujin Teacher/Student Combo vs. Hell Missionaries that it started getting dumb...and it just kept getting worse, whether it was Kamehame climbing the mountain, the "passing" of Kinnikuman Great to Terry (with Kamehame still able to be tangible as a ghost), Sunshine's whininess in the Stray-Devil Choujin's downfall (yeah, Ashuraman was nuts too but Sunshine was just annoying and I liked him), the "Iron Sweat" fiasco, pretty much everything involving Doctor Bombe (aside from him being paid by pain and his chess games with Kamehame...those were cool), the "Superman bit" involving the reversal of time...and so many other things that I can't even remember them right now without rereading the arc...and that I don't want to do. So when I say I'm happy that we're done...believe it!
OK, before shutting the door on this insane, insane arc, I still have to comment on this chapter...for the most part, I did like Neptuneman...er, Kenkaman...er, Quarrelman...er, Hulk Dogan (yeah, that's it) finally realizing the imperfection of Perfect Choujin and essentially deciding to become a human bomb in order to atone for his failure and due to these so-called laws of the race. Sure I didn't like the whole "the only perfect thing in the world is Justice Choujin friendship" crap, but unfortunately with friendship being so thrown about the entire arc, it was expected. Oh, and Neptune King's true identity being...a really old guy in a suit...yeah, I figured it was Old-Man Withers all this time...nah, won't do the Scooby bit again but just seeing his true form being this old decaying guy who couldn't even live long without his Neptune Mask was funny. Oh...and I still don't get why they needed one more fight due to the "three-fight rule"...it just felt like filler at this point after the epic Muscle Docking, mostly to just fill for time until the end of the arc (which ended...well, there).
Well with that over with, you're probably wondering if I'm going to touch the "Throne Arc" that comes next, which essentially makes up the rest of the original series. Well to tell the truth...I want to eventually get to it...but I need a break. Doing all this Kinnikuman for close to a year or so has drained me, particularly after the crap that the Tag arc dragged me through. I sort of do want to get to it, even if someone else may/may not be doing it too so I can make more silly comments and see how I do it, but for the moment, "Kinnikuman" is going on hiatus. The Choujin will return someday with more cool abilities and probably more stupid stuff (trust me, the king of stupid was in that final panel from what I've heard)...but until then, I think I want to do some other manga for the time being. So until we meet again (hopefully with Kinnikuman but we'll see), this is StrangerAtaru saying..."Does anyone realize that somehow that last space on the cloak was filled even if it was supposed to have Suguru's potential mask?...oh well, no one probably cared anymore by that point anyway."
