Meat has pulled off the upset no one expected by taking down Mixer Taitei! But does he have anything left to finish off Mariposa's remaining team? And...what of Robin and Terry's mad dash to Suguru's side!?

Chapter 287: Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (14): Hurry! To Kumamoto!!

87.
Announcer: Alexandria Meat has pulled the ultimate upset, smashing up the veteran Mixer Taitei, who defeated even Kinnikuman, with one backdrop---!!
(TN: The “ultimate upset” part is actually in Japanese “daikinboshi”, which is a term for when a rank-and-file sumo wrestler defeats the great grand champion)
Announcer: With that, Team Kinnikuman has gotten through their third fighter---!!
Man: Good job—
Suguru: Me…Meat, you’ve done well……
Meat: I’ve been helpful to you, Prince…
Meat: I’m…so
Meat: Glad…

88.
Announcer: Has he run out of power confident of victory? Meat has quietly fallen onto the canvas---!!

89.
Suguru: Meat~~~!!
Caption: OSAKA CASTLE—
Mayumi & Sayuri: Aah…
Announcer: Well, the falling of Meat, the General of Team Kinnikuman…
Announcer: Will have them defeated to Team Flight with two fighters remaining: King the 100 Ton and Kinnikuman Mariposa…
Narrator: At that moment, the duo of Terryman and Robin Mask, who were headed to reinforce Team Kinnikuman, had finally crossed over to Japan and were hurrying to Kumamoto where Kinnikuman and Meat were fighting—

90.
Robin: Hurry, Terryman: even though we’ve arrived in Japan, we’ve finally gotten through Hokkaido and headed into the Tohoku region!! Kumamoto, where Kinnikuman is, is still far ahead…
(TN: Wait…so why are they running there…can’t they fly?)
Terry: Uwa!!
Robin: What’s wrong, Terryman?
Terry: It’s my shoelaces again…Meat’s fallen, continuing from Kinnikuman…
Robin: I won’t allow even a moment’s delay anymore!!
Voice: UWAAA
Robin: Wh…what are those screaming voices…!!

91.
Robin: It’s…that castle…
Robin: Since the place that we’re in is, perhaps, Fukushima Prefecture, this castle would be Aidzuwakamatsu Castle…
Terry: If that’s Aidzuwakamatsu Castle, then isn’t that the meeting place where Team Big Body and Team Super Phoenix are fighting in the Throne Succession Survival Match, just like Kinnikuman!!
Announcer: So then, it is here at Aidzuwakamatsu Castle that the close contest of Mammothman, the Advance Guard of Team Super Phoenix and Golemman, the Center of Team Big Body, continues.

92.
Announcer: Mammothman of Team Phoenix has been having a hard time with Golemman, as if his two straight wins until now was a lie.
Big Body: Great, Golemman, we possibly can reverse this at once if we can defeat him!!
Golem: Guo—
Announcer: Golemman has thrown away the giant Mammothman with a Front Neck Chancerly Drop, with the advantage of his superhuman strength--!!
(TN: The “Front Neck Chancerly Drop” is a drop that is notable for being developed as one used by Antonio Inoki)

93.
Phoenix: Mammothman, I have good news.
Phoenix: Meat of Team Kinnikuman has defeated Mixer Taitei, the Center of Team Mariposa, giving them their third victory in Kumamoto.
Mammoth: So then, Team Kinnikuman has finally gotten their third victory?
Golem: Goa!
Announcer: Golemman is dive-bombing with a Flying Neck Drop from the top of the corner----!!

94.
Mammoth: Playtime is over.
Mammoth: PAO—
Announcer: Ooh, Mammothman has grabbed Golemman with his elephant nose—
Mammoth: Torya----!!

95.
Mammoth: Hehehe: Big Body-san, it’s still early for you to be disorganized. This is the beginning of the end…
Big Body: He’s in a handstand holding both of Golemman’s legs?
Announcer: With his neck as a fulcrum, Mammothman is squeezing Golemman’s body, who is stuck in the canvas!!
Mammoth: Since the canvas can bite into a Choujin’s neck as if it’s a living thing,

96.
Mammoth: This technique is called the Ghost Canvas---!!
Audience: Kya—
Announcer: W…was that an inverted hanging? That was Mammothman’s bold move to break off his opponent’s head. In line with Team Kinnikuman in Kumamoto, Team Super Phoenix has brought out their third victory---!!

97.
Big Body: Th…that Mammothman, who was pressed that much by Golemman in the first half, was waiting for Team Kinnikuman’s third win in Kumamoto…
Terry: Well, that castle, which was boiling up with all those audience cheering up up to earlier, has suddenly become silenced.
Robin: The match is probably over. Perhaps from seeing their war potential, that Team Super Phoenix has been given their third victory, even if that fierce fight was tough for them until the end.
Terry: In that way, the weak will rapidly be removed and only the strong advance; pushing those forwards towards the throne of Planet Kinniku step by step.
Robin: We shouldn’t be guarded from it either; if we don’t hurry to Kumamoto so we can have Kinnikuman win forward from within those Throne Succession Candidates over there.
Voice: Hold on~~

98.
Guards: Chief of Staff Robin Mask, Staff Officer Terryman, you’re not moving any further ahead!!
Terry: The…Choujin Police Corp…
Guard: We’ve told you this many times, but we will not let either of you, who are in leaderly positions with the younger Choujin, pass through to the Throne Successors of Planet Kinniku. You are not approved to save Kinnikuman; now, please return to your students!!
Robin: We’ve been approved!!
Robin: We’re coming to the rescue with a friend in danger by our students, even if we sacrifice our lives. We want them to be raised as Choujin who show this bravery and kindness---!!
(TN: This was a simple but difficult part to translate, considering we have Robin’s “lesson” about “saving a friend in danger”, but keeping the context that it was the students who permitted him and Terry to go to Suguru’s rescue. I tried to make it work but I’m not quite sure)
Terry: Due to that, if we senpai Choujin don’t show ourselves in possessing this—

99.
Announcer: That generally strong Mammothman has reverently won against three members of Team Big Body; going off that force, it’s become dangerous for the remaining two players—
Mammoth: I don’t care anymore if its the Second-in-Command or the General, come at me however you like!!
Big Body: Uuh~~~if he’s saying that~~~
Phoenix: There’s noise outside the castle; a momentary truce, Mammothman.
Mammoth: Right.
Man: What’s going on!?

100.
Hat Man: Wow—amazing! Terryman and Robin Mask of the Justice Choujin are evenly facing a crowd of Choujin outside the castle---!!
Mammoth: What---!!
Big Body: Ke…perhaps they were in the middle of going to save that crisis-ridden Kinnikuman, but they’re being opposed from getting there by the Choujin Police Corp.
Phoenix: Mammothman, we have only one action we should take!!
Mammoth: Right! I thoroughly know what!!
Mammoth: Pao—
Phoenix: Tou—

101.
Phoenix: Death-Body Shoot!!
Announcer: Super Phoenix has suddenly hit the corpse of the headless Golemman through the castle wall—
Guard: Hold on---!!

102.
Terry: Th…that is…!!
Robin: This is a godsend, Terryman; with that, we can go out to reinforce Kinnikuman!!
Big Body: What are you doing: Team Kinnikuman, who is finally starting to be annihilated, will end up a mightier team with Robin Mask and Terryman going to Kumamoto.
Phoenix: Our way of thinking is that it will be greater to defeat our enemy if they become greater.
Caption: KUMAMOTO CASTLE—

103.
Announcer: Well, once again here at Kumamoto Castle, King the 100 Ton, the second-in-coomand of Team Mariposa, is, as you can say, tormenting Meat-kun, who is unable to fight back!!
100 Ton: Ora ora, what’s the matter---!!
Mariposa: Ha—hahaha, great work King the 100 Ton: if you can just defeat Meat, the last of Team Kinnikuman, we will have a come-from-behind victory for Team Mariposa!!
Suguru: Stop—stop that--!!
Nurse: Don’t go in, Kinnikuman-san; moving will hurt your injuries!!
100 Ton: You impudent fool!!
Announcer: King the 100 Ton has inserted his remaining weights on his entire body, becoming his original form!!

104.
100 Ton: Jet Roller See-Saw!!
Suguru: If Meat strikes the ceiling with that force, he’ll certainly die instantly---!!

105.
Suguru: Aah!!

(SCRAMBLE FOR THE KINNIKU THRONE ARC)
SPECIAL VTR XI
MEAT VS. MIXER TAITEI

TN: This chapter has a nice concept about "law" vs. "morality" in allowing for why Terry and Robin were continuing to head and ultimately join Suguru on his Throne Succession fight that I really didn't go into before. Some people have probably complained before about those two essentially dumping whatever they were doing to join Suguru after the crap they put him through. But if you think about it, it was the "student charges" they were put in charge of that allowed for them to realize once again the assholes they were at the start of this arc. (well they knew that already considering that they wanted to help Suguru from the start...but couldn't due to thinking they were bound by the laws and concepts of Choujin society) When they took their positions at the start of the arc, it was obviously a plot device to keep them out of the tournament early on...but in a way, it was also something that was thrusted on them: considering how prominent Terry and Robin were in helping Suguru before, they were trusted enough to become officials while (what was supposed to happen) Suguru became king of his homeworld and of general Choujin society. In my head, the moment the other Throne Candidates popped in, it should have been null and void: Mayumi should have remained king and those two would not have started their position until there was a new king dependent on the will of whoever ruled them. (yeah it was Harabote's decision but the new King probably could get rid of him too since Planet Kinniku's King is basically higher than him) They just decided to give them that appointment and make Suguru "not the king" just to cause more tension...but of course, it's all cool now considering that they had to re-learn their former lessons the hard way.

Oh, and while this chapter did have cheesy but important lessons, there is one minor...no, major nitpick I have with this chapter: WHY DIDN'T TERRY AND ROBIN JUST FLY TO KUMAMOTO IN THE FIRST PLACE!? Heck, we don't even know if they flew there: from the moment they returned to the story and arrived in Japan, they were running (yes, running) as if they ran all that way around the world from the moment Suguru got hit by the Power Separator to when they finally saved Meat! Now alright, I can probably give a bit of a shadow of a doubt in saying that they probably did fly to Japan part of the way...but why did they decide to fly all the way up to Hokkaido, then literally run all the way to Kumamoto from there!? The only reason they did that stupid concept was one reason and only one: so they could face a bit of Super Phoenix/Big Body first hand (and to meet the decapitated body of Golemman)! We know that Super Phoenix, Mammothman and the like are being set-up as the main baddies (mostly thanks to the God of Intelligence being so prominent and Super Phoenix being his posessee) but to have Terry and Robin run to Kumamoto from the north just for that scene was nonsense! As I see it, it could have been done much easier if they end up seeing the Mammoth/Golem scenario, say, on TV in Nagasaki (which at least is on the very same island of Kyushu), maybe even as both arrive in Japan, before heading to Kumamoto! The whole scenario could have happened (even, with a stretch, the pursuing soldiers), it wouldn't be as stupid...and heck, Golemman's corpse would still be in the castle. And let's add this on: WHEN THE HECK DID IT START SNOWING!? It wasn't snowing when the fight started, now it is!? Make up your mind!!!!!! (yeesh...and I thought it was bad when no one flew up to Tournament Mountain and they had to rely on a Magnetic Storm created by the Hell Missionaries and Robin's armor...)

Somehow, my guess is that, Super Phoenix and his team knew that they are gonna face Kinnikuman and his team eventually.

I did wonder if it was snowing there as well.

In the anime they did fly to that place.

Anyways nice job! :D

It is assumed that Robin and Terry had to fly to get there, but why couldn't they actually be seen flying there? Or even better, why not just fly directly to Kumamoto instead of just using this as an excuse to check up on the other match? That's all that scene was: they wanted Robin and Terry to experience something regarding Super Phoenix first-hand, thus we get that stupid sequence with the headless Golemman instead of having them take a better route.
