Parthenon: I…I’ve been wanting to do that too, but so…somehow, whenever I’m being tossed up, the power in my body somehow falls out of me…
Robin: Kinnikuman is thinking of something by repeating this many Bridge Shoots without reviewing his own physical strength…
Robin: Ah…yes, what….if
Robin: This is…the prelude to Kinnikuman’s new special technique…

Suguru: At the moment we took Zebra and Parthenon’s Canvas Presser…it was fragmented, but it was a vision of a new special technique to continue from the Kinniku Buster and Kinniku Driver…!!

Announcer: What’s going on: Parthenon, who saw an opening to instantly get out of Kinnikuman, has conversely put Kinnikuman into an Abarash Hold---!!

Zebra: Ha—hahaha, let me tell you why you couldn’t complete your new special technique.
Suguru: Wh…why….
Zebra: Kinnikuman, think about your fight pattern in your previous fights.
Zebra: Your match progress always has you just taking attack after attack by the opponent in the early stages, having yourself suggested your completely groggy condition to your opponent; falling for it, you mostly have a pattern of taking the win with a Kinniku Buster or a Kinniku Driver through your Burning Inner Strength. Even when you’ve been fighting us, you’ve been recklessly just taking our combination play from the start.

Zebra: In the battle with Team Mariposa, your Burning Inner Strength was eternally sealed in the Evil World by way of Mixer Taitei’s Power Separator---!!

(TN: The Japanese name under “Muscle Inferno” is “Kinniku no Jigoku”; “Kinniku” obviously is “Muscle”, but “Jigoku” is more or less “Hell” but could also be taken as “Inferno” if we go into the Dante version of “Inferno”)

Announcer: Kinnikuman, piling up the damage of the technique and the shock of Zebra announcing ahead of him one of the Three Great Secrets, suddenly isn’t moving--!!

Suguru: Re…gardless of my handstands, I can’t do a Finishing Hold like them…I really may be a fake prince who was unexpectedly taken into the Kinniku Royal Family as the baby taken by mistake in the incident at the 8th Hospital on Planet Kinniku.

Alright, now where to begin...yeah, let's start with that: WHAT THE HECK IS THAT MUSCLE INFERNO ANYWAY!?!?!?!?!? How in their right mind can Yudetamago make us suddenly believe that turning an opponent into a magical flying surfboard that smashes into a wall is supposed to be one of the three most difficult and legendary techniques of the Kinniku Clan!? Alright, turning someone into a living surfboard may sound like a cool idea on paper...but to suddenly make it one of the big crucial means by which the determination of the Throne of Planet Kinniku is just one of the most outlandish, ridiculous concepts this series has thrown out yet! And that's not even getting into the half of it: let's look back a few volumes to the first appearance of the Finishing Hold Fresco...look closely cause you may notice something:

Now let's ask ourselves: WHY THE HECK DID YUDETAMAGO SUDDENLY CHANGE THE THIRD FRESCO DRAWING TO ACCOMMODATE THIS "MUSCLE INFERNO!?!?!?" I mean, was this intentional or did they forget that the other pic they used a few chapters back was the original one? Or did the Evil Gods suddenly switch around drawings again to drive us all mad so that third pic we first saw was a fake and this pic is the real Third Special Technique that could discern the identity of the true Prince!? I mean, when I first saw that pic when Robin narrated about the Fresco at the start of the chapter, I thought maybe he had a faulty memory or that there was some artistic mistake: there was no way "turn a Choujin warrior into a surfboard" was literally going to be the Third Special Technique, particularly since it wasn't what the pic was back when the whole stupid thing was introduced. But then when Zebra literally, actually pulled it...it was just mind-blowing! This literally is just the ultimate "f-you" to all matters of keeping continuity in this series!! All I know is that this matter was just so infuriating and ridiculous that it nearly made me forget everything else in this chapter...

Well not quite, it was more that I was trying to suppress some parts of this chapter on purpose and used the "Muscle Inferno" excuse to do so. As much as I don't want to get into it...yeah, the more Parthenon talks about his contents, the sicker I get. Though trying to ignore part of it, the revelation that Big Gay Par actually has fossils inside of him...well that explains the petrol he had for Bikeman way back. (and probably further increases my other comment that Team Zebra was merely just "Team Bikeman...and his Pit Crew"...as long as it prevents my other idea about what the team was) And seeing Robin suddenly "go inside" Parthenon...heck, even the potential cliffhanger of Suguru almost going inside...blech. The less said the better. (and the same for the "random bird who flies in to get petrified...what was up with that?) There is also a bit on Suguru sort of being whiny...but again, it's sort of all based on the circumstances: while it's sort of unknown what the Muscle Spark is (well...it's obvious but we'll leave that for the next few chapters), his failure at it and not really catching on with that stupid "added at the last second rule of knowing one of the three legendary techniques of his clan" really is an excuse to make him so bummed out. He's just caught in a situation that has gone way out of his control...luckily Robin tagged in to prevent him from being petrified though but we'll figure that out next chapter...yeesh, a whole chapter with Robin "inside Parthenon"...this could be worse than the Muscle Inferno blunder.

BTW: As for why I ended up choosing "A View to a Kill" by Duran Duran for the BG this time...well basically it's more or less coincidental tied to the circumstances of the chapter. The infamous final Bond film of the Roger Moore era (really only notable for Christopher Walken...who pretty much stole the movie as the nuttiest Bond villain ever), "A View to a Kill" came out in 1985 (the same year as this chapter) and had another weird "surfboarding" homage in an opening sequence said to have brought snowboarding to the mainstream. (it was a crummy sequence but you have to give it that...though at least it's not airboarding on a person's back) Besides, the song rocks regardless and somehow it came to mind just like "We Don't Need Another Hero" did for the whole Thunderdome scenario.
