Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (49): Clash! The Murderers’ Ring!!
-> RTS Page for Kinnikuman 322
The first semi-final of the Throne tournament has finally completed with Suguru's team securing a seat in the Osaka finals! Now with another round of matches left to go, how will Team Phoenix and Team Soldier complete their own battles?
Chapter 322: Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (49): Clash! The Murderers’ Ring!!
88.
Announcer: Here, even at Sekigahara’s Fighting Castle, where several heated contests have been continuing since early this morning, we’re steadily becoming dyed by the red setting sun!!
Announcer: Well right now in the ring, the first semifinal match of the Scramble for the Kinniku Throne Survival Match has ended with Team Kinnikuman just becoming the first to arrive to the finals by defeating Team Zebra!! Well, which team will collide with Team Kinnikuman in the finals that will occur at Osaka Castle as expected? This fated fight which will determine these beasts will continue on by being held in the 2nd ring!!
(TN: The “these beasts” part uses the Japanese term “shiyuu”, which is a term for a “male and female animal”. Since it is hard to really differentiate how it connects to the term, I translated it as “beasts”)
Suguru: Ge! It’s pitch-dark!!
89.
Announcer: Well, in the 2nd ring, we will be holding the showdown of Team Phoenix vs. Team Soldier, which will decide the 2nd team that will progress to the finals!!
Announcer: The battle of Team Phoenix and Team Soldier has already had a few matches which have ended in Nagoya Castle; until present, Team Soldier has had the duo of Advance-Guard The Ninja and Second-Guard Ashuraman defeated; while Team Phoenix still only has had their Advance-Guard Satan Cross defeated!!
Suguru: As it is now, Team Phoenix has an overwhelming lead……
90.
Announcer: So, whom and whom will have the next showdown of Team Phoenix vs. Team Soldier!?
Phoenix: Our team next will send out our Second-Guard of Mammothman, but who will you send out?
Mammoth: PAO—
Soldier: Originally, I was going to send out my Main Body Buffaloman, but…Mammothman is a big-wheel fighter that annihilated the members of Team Big Body in the First Round. Even with Buffaloman, we can at length take a tie.
Soldier: Moving on, Brocken Jr. will have a showdown with Mysterious Partner #1, but…
Soldier: He’s a mysterious partner whom Phoenix has kept secret until now and who hides his true identity…Saying I’m fine seeing his true power as equal to Mammothman, Brocken Jr. will tie as well…
Soldier: And then, if I who is left possibly ties with Mysterious Partner #2, my team will be annihilated for having one less member than Team Phoenix…Team Phoenix will be given the decision of moving to the finals with Phoenix alone not having to fight…
91.
“Mysterious Partner”: Soldier, who exactly is going to fight our Mammothman!
Phoenix: Ooh, stop, Mysterious Partner #1, don’t take off your white outfit yet!
Announcer: Mysterious Partner #1 has finally thrown off his white outfit and a Choujin whose entire body is sided with glass has appeared over there---!!
92.
(Filler page to adjust to the Jump adjustment for being a color chapter…just Soldier though)
93.
Buffalo: Th…that’s the true identity of Mysterious Partner #1…
Phoenix: He’s a guy who’s very hot-blooded! I told you to show yourself when we’re that far in the match, Prisman.
(TN: First of all, there isn’t a typo in his name: the Japanese word for “prism” is “purizumu”, but the pronunciation of his name is “purizuman”, thus it is “Prisman”. Secondly, the term Phoenix uses here is “chinoke no ooi”, with “ooi” being a numerical for “a lot” or “a great extent” and “chinoke” being “hot-blooded”. The best way to speak of it in English is “very hot-blooded”)
Prism: It’s because I’m different from Mysterious Partner #2 and don’t have the strong endurance to watch these many heated battles and be patient, no matter how many orders I get from Phoenix-sama!
Prism: So, who’s fighting Mammoth; decide quickly---!!
94.
Buffalo: You—what did you do when facing towards Soldier!!
Brocken: Can’t you two stop that!!
Brocken: Phoenix, with the situation of our team fighting in a win-through battle with your team, even if our Team Soldier does well, all of us will come in reach of tying. In that situation, our team has come to be in a disadvantage with one less than your team.
Brocken: Here then, with just this fight of Team Soldier and Team Phoenix, we will stop this win-through battle we’ve had until now.
Brocken: And the three of our team will fight three representatives of Team Phoenix.
Brocken: How about it: we decide between ourselves in a six-person tag match!?
Buffalo: 6…6-person tag…
95.
Brocken: In any case, the team that wins the 6-person tag match will move to the Finals ring in Osaka without complaint!!
Prism: Mumu—
Soldier: Of…of course, Brocken: I too wanted to compete in a 6-person tag match with these guys…however, as team leader, I couldn’t propose it seeing my own timidness…Brocken, who sympathized with my own situation and spoke for me, I think it was truly good that you joined this team!
Phoenix: Understood!
Phoenix: We shall take the suggestion of the six-person tag match of Team Soldier!!
96.
Phoenix: The trio that will represent our Team Phoenix shall be the trio of myself, Mammothman and Prisman, who divulged his true identity earlier!
Phoenix: Mysterious Person #2, I’m sorry but this time you shall leave the ring again…
Phoenix: I’m sure you will be active in the ring of the finals.
Announcer: Well, the six tag-team representative players for both teams are all present in the ring.
Phoenix: We have taken your suggestion. The rules of the 6-person tag match shall be decided here.
97.
Phoenix: First, the ring we shall fight in…
“Mysterious Person”: Right!!
Buffalo: Wh…what!?
Suguru: Owa—Look, the 2nd ring is rising up--!!
Brocken: Ge—this ring is a cube!?
98.
Announcer: The cube-shaped ring that had been pressed out from underground has soared high in the sky and stopped---!!
Phoenix: The decided place for the 6-person tag match is this floating ring---!!
99.
Phoenix: This ring has a special floatation apparatus inserted into it. Thus, this ring has the measurements to allow it to float without being disturbed, regardless of the strong impacts and shocks it is presented with.
Phoenix: Well, with the battlefield decided, next we should decide on the rules.
Phoenix: In the situation of a typical 6-person tag match, you come to win if you can defeat even one among the trio of an opponent team, but our fight would be borning with that common thing! In here, each team was decided by each of the captains alone, and thus this match will continue until this captain either is given a K.O. or gives up.
Brocken: A Captain-Give-Up Match? I’ve heard it was a method that it was thoroughly done in the Ancient Choujin World but…it’s certain that the other members, of whom their captain stands out, will have to defeat the captain of the other team but, however, they can seize the key to victory by protecting the captain of their own team. This surely is an ideal match method for testing teamwork.
Buffalo: Yossha, we accept this match method!!
100.
Announcer: It seems like this concluding match of Team Phoenix and Team Soldier has been decided to be a Captain-Give-Up Match in a ring that’s floating in the air!!
Phoenix: When you decide on your captain, you will tie this bandana to the left arm of your captain.
Phoenix: After the captain of the opposing team is either given a K.O. or gives up, the victory will be decided when the bandana wrapped on their left arm is taken.
Phoenix: I will take up being captain on our team.
Phoenix: So then, I wish you good luck! Fufufu…
Announcer: Well, both teams are separating to each other’s corners! What’s left is just to wait for the gong for the start of the match!!
101.
Suguru: Uo—i, Team Soldier, with those members quite intense, how about I join as a member!
Buffalo: It’s useless to worry too much! All of you had a hard fight just like Team Zebra! Thinking of my own long horn that is buried in your left arm is embarrassing!!
(TN: I really don’t get why Buffaloman would switch the subject from worrying about Suguru to…well…Buffaloman realizing Dr. Bombe screwed him out of a good long horn is…weird)
Suguru: What—all that pain of possessing such a nice thing and yet I can’t anymore!!
Ramen: While we’re at it, Kinnikuman, what’s that package?
Suguru: Hehe…it’s a nice thing, a nice thing.
Announcer: Five seconds until the start of the match!!
Brocken: Well, I’ll go as the advance guard. Soldier, you’ll appear as captain.
102.
Brocken: So…Soldier.
Announcer: Well, now the gong has rung in the Captain-Give-Up Match of Team Phoenix vs. Team Soldier---!!
Announcer: Both teams have mutual captains charging and stopping each other from the start---!!
103.
Announcer: Soldier has done an Arm Whip flash to Phoenix!!
Announcer: Phoenix has done a returning Arm Whip to Soldier at the start as well---!!
Announcer: And without closing his eyes, is in an Arm-Breaking Reverse Cross!!
Soldier: Guwa…
104.
Brocken: He’s aiming for the bandana! We have to save Captain Soldier!!
Mammoth: Can you really do that---!!
Announcer: This is a Triple-Play Decoration Tree of Hell, knocking around all the Choujin of Team Soldier with Mammothman’s body as an axis---!!
105.
Mammoth: Well, they’ve gone beddy-bye quickly, that’s a problem.
Prism: Why’s that: because from here, they’ll understand the true reason that the place of our playoff is this floating ring.
Announcer: Ge—Mammothman and Prisman has jumped from the ring holding Buffaloman and Brocken Jr; what exactly are they doing---!?
Suguru: Do they want to die---!!
106.
Announcer: Oh: some sort of power is being emitted to Mammothman and Prisman from each side of the cube ring---!!
Announcer: Mammothman and Prisman are being drawn to the cube ring!!
107.
Brocken: Ooh!!
Buffalo: Its ropes and corner posts…!!
Announcer: Suddenly rings have appeared on every side of the cube ring. The skies of Sekigahara surely are being controlled by a heavy-gravity 4-D ring!!
108.

KINNIKUMAN SOLDIER VS. KINNIKUMAN SUPER PHOENIX
TN: Is it just me or is there a bit of deja vu for how Prisman first appeared in his obsession in "continuing the story"? I know I saw that scenario in something recently but it's like I have a hard time remembering what it is...yet all I know is Prisman reminded me of it. Though in that way, I think it sort of makes him more interesting considering how weird his design was on it's own (living prisms stacked on top of each other with that huge "gap" for a mouth) At least it sort of gives a quirky member to Team Phoenix who seems to be more obsessed with control-freaks (Super Phoenix), ignorant muscle (Mammothman) and stubborn old masters (Samson Teacher by way of the Satan Cross parasite). Anyway, there really isn't that much to say about this chapter: it's mostly just set-up for the next phase of the tournament with that weird floating cube ring and the 3-on-3 tag match where the team automatically loses when their ribbon is taken like it's flag football. There were a couple weird moments though: first of all, Soldier just gets weirder and weirder in his inconsistencies. One moment he gets completely scared of facing Phoenix and has to have Brocken (who ended up saying the right things for some reason or another) set up the match, and the next he suddenly has the courage to take on Phoenix at the start of the match! One needs to wonder about why Soldier has these mood swings all of a sudden. As for the other weird moment: Suguru not only wanting to join Team Soldier fearing for their safety but bringing up to Buffaloman that "he still has his horns as his arm", even though...yeesh, let's just say Dr. Bombe is the worst doctor ever in not even killing Buffaloman and end it at that. (or he's just a horrible liar...at least Wan Taaren can make one believe someone has died and then turn it around when it's over)
BTW: I finally remembered where I saw Prisman's enthusiasm: it's similar to Odz from One Piece, particularly the part with Big Emperor! Yeah...maybe not exact but it is similar.
