SATAN CROSS VS. KINNIKUMAN

TN: You want to know what I don't quite get about the Defend Suit that has been hyped so much in this fight so far? Samson Teacher hyped it up at the start as being the "ultimate defense", the means by which he can avoid all of Suguru's physical attacks. But here's a quandary that the first half of this chapter didn't seem to address: why would you use such a powerful defensive weapon on offense? I get that Samson Teacher didn't have his "weapon" yet, but there really should be a matter he should have realized: the moment he took off his Defend Suit, he himself became open once again. While I get what he was trying to attempt to do, but to have Suguru not realize he could just toss Satan Cross around with ease by, y'know, avoiding the Defend Suit weapon and stabbing him with the Magic Square origami just didn't feel like a smart move for someone like Samson Teacher. He deserved every blow he took in that phase.

On the other hand...as fun as it was to have "giant scissors to attack a giant piece of paper", it just felt like it was all set-up for that strange cliffhanger. The "ropes into snakes" bit I sort of expected to go on longer...but it just felt more like a fusion of Sneagator turning the ring into reptiles...and Mister VTR pushing pause...just because he can. (and not using it to, you know, destroy Suguru and take the match) But the whole Izuna Drop scenario leading to the multiple Satan Cross being all exactly right where the pieces were for the rest of the Defend Suit...first of all, with all the many multi-colored sheets that he had for his abilities, why would he suddenly just keep one of these normal white sheets for it? Why not just sacrifice a sheet he knows he isn't going to use again (like a few he used on The Ninja) and use that to make his clones? Second...while I get the intent, how could sheets, a soft object, be hard enough when cut up to become large fully-realized clones? I sort of get it to be the old "paper doll" bit using the chopping up the sheet creating dolls, but using a sheet instead of cardboard just makes me imagine all the created Satan Crosses flopping around like fish instead of just perfectly standing erect right where they need to be. Yeah...I guess I'm going on with something stupid...but somehow I just feel some of this getting strange when it doesn't have to be.
